omg, lifesaver! I watched another video; he forgot to say to delete folder/drive for it to work; thanks, so much!
I followed your previous version of this tutorial with much success and fanfare! Thanks!
I wonder if migrating my settings from my intel macbook to my m2 macbook somehow was the source of this search index corruption.
hmmm interesting question! i suppose that could certainly be true. that said i have started with a fresh m1 and still have this issue 🤷♂️
Came here for the guns, stayed for the face. Might have to rewatch to actually learn what you're teaching 😂😍
😅👌🏻
Thanks, its work for me :)
thank you
You're welcome!
You knew what you were doing with that thumbnail 😂 🥵
It's been a while, but I believe disk utility used to do this with a click of a button back in the day. Kinda ridic we have to jump through hoops to get this to work now. Came at a good time tho... My Catalina index is all messed up. I'll give this a try!
Yes, cannot remember if it was disk utility, but there used to be a re-index button somewhere….I am pretty sure of it as well.
Anyway, the method described here is exactly the method Apple now recommends. Good timing/reminder for me too….
LEGEND. I have been suffering with this problem with files on my external SSD not showing up when using finder.. Hopefully this sorts the issue long term.
Fingers crossed!!
This technique did not work for me. Finder does not work on Notes and Email in my Macbook. Appreciate if you could help.
Sadly it did not work. I can see the files in terminal using ls but not in finder.
It works, but then it stop finding the files again
Hi Ryan, same name as my 9 month old grandson BTW. Love your videos Ryan but in this instance I wish you'd put in the title that this video was to do with iOS products only, then I needn't have watched it.
The title says „Finder“ not „Windows Explorer“, hence obvious it is Mac only?
@corneliaippers603 my bad!
We'll see if it works, and I'll post a new comment.
lol, now I cannot find ANY even after removing the exemption
DANGGIT! Haha hope you got it figured eventually!
Thank you so much it works🫡
