How does you implement physics and collision detection do you use physics engine or you have implemented all by your self
which laptop you use in this video?
Artists need to stop selling for so cheap, 50$ for like 50hours of work is actually not good at all and will burn your creativity out for the lack of reward. You"r good at it and deserve actual money for it. I'd suggest to not even sell it, but make a portfolio out of it. Nobody deserve to buy a full tileset for a few $
Thank you for the comment, you're very kind. I wouldn't call myself an artist and I don't believe to be that good at pixel art. I don't deserve more than what I got tbh... If anything, there are better tilesets on itch.io that are sold for cheaper as they're often on sale, if I were looking for tilesets I'd buy those instead
I like how the thumbnail says "pixel art tips" and shows two apples at wildly different resolutions.
I just found your video by chance, and I'm just here to say that the whole video is so inspiring and informative! The message in the end really connects to me as an artist as well! Cheers to our creative journeys! 😊✨
I have a bunch of projects in my head but its hard to make own game with own assets sounds effects muzic etc...
wait, sounds familiar to me..
Sir please make tutorial on complete retro game mechanism in one video🙏
Looks sick could you show how you downloaded the chrono Engine or found it ? I don’t trust some of these download links lol
I love how much you lovr your own game!
hello bro, nice work. am looking for a nice course on pixel art, any tips
Have you given RPG Architect a go before?
4:56 RGB Apple
Just stumbled across the video and I'd love to know how well your packs are doing now, two years later!
Thank you
I like this a lot, curious about the plugin though, is there any way to keep the enemies from just walking around randomly like that? Like maybe give them fixed pathing or stationary with an animation?
😉 Promo SM
It is so nostalgic to hear your voice again. A better time back in 2019.
This is so cool! I’d love a short video of how you make your tiles, export them, and import to set up in the engine. Do you draw up the whole level as one piece, and then place the tiles manually after import? I find this very interesting 😅 Lots of process questions, lol! Thanks for the devlog, looking forward to following along!😊
Ma non sapevo fossi Italiano! Ti seguo da un po' e lo scopro solo ora! Complimenti davvero (per i tuoi lavori, non per il fatto di essere italiano)!
For additional enemies, maybe add a flying enemy, like a vulture, or another ground enemy, like a snake or centipede that acts as a weaker version of the scorpion. The vulture could act as weak or standard enemy, but as you defeat other enemies around it, it could gain a bit of additional health back by 'scavenging and eating the bodies of the enemies you killed'. The snake and centipede could have quicker attacks, but do little damage, or you could have them cause a status effect. Alternatively for the centipede, you could have it do weak attacks, but have high health set into segmented sections of the centipede which take up multiple turns, so for example, the head attacks but the rest of the turns offer the player a chance to take out a segment of the body. If you give the centipede a status effect like poision, the additional segments could potentially be used to stall and build up damage on the player.
You have come so far omg! Love this!
Add some desert bandits😃😃
yesss, I already have the soldier as a base for bandits ;)
I missed by 2 minutes... huh Okay then?
What enemies should I add to the game? 🦂🦂🦂
What software ur using for making scene like that without using game engine??
The software is called Tiled!
Ngl the apple that's drawn "incorrectly" on the thumbnail looks better
I'm so happy you came back, I needed this tutorial XD, I've waited 2 years for this 😂😂
good job
Your back bro I’m so happy
Thank you! Yes, I'm back 😎💪
Love the idea of that controller based setup! Glad ur back :)
Hello Lenny! It still needs some work, but it's a lot of fun to use
Yo man I’m so happy you’re back. Your game dev logs are unlike any others. You’ve been a huge inspiration to me and I seriously can’t wait to see more
Thank you so much for the nice message! I'm glad you enjoy the videos 😊
really glad to see you're back! I used to watch all your devlogs of your metroidvania back then and you really inspired me to be a game dev myself! <3
Thank you watching, I'm glad you enjoy the devlogs!! ✌ How about your project? Good luck!!
So happy to have you back, Ric!!! Really excited for the new RPG style game!
Hello Wolf, how are you?? It's been a while! Yes, very excited about working on an RPG! I've been playing a ton of RPGs these past few years, it is my favorite game genre for sure!
What does genesis mean
It means "origin", how the project came to be, what got it started 😄
@@Ric_93 ok
Wow... You Are back... Round Three, eh?
Oh hey Davno, how are you? Yes, I'm very excited to be back! Round three? Maybe? I haven't counted to be honest! 😅
Cool!
Thank you!
finally back
Hello! YES
This is looking good so far man, and congratulations on your phd
Thank you so much! 😄 I'm so happy to finally be able to focus on something that is NOT the PhD, here's to a new beginning!
"The Song of the Bandit Bird" Pls don't ask me where this came from cuz I just thought of this name while watching the video.
Thank you for the recommendation, it has a nice ring to it! Now the question is: what/who is the Bandit Bird? 🐦
🙏
Idk why but the first name idea that came to mind was "The way the cookie crumbles" It just has a weird rpg feel to me, combined with a bit of goofiness
Oh hey, it's anon, how are you? 😄 Thank you for the title idea! It sounds a bit like... a song title in a way? I like the "crumbling" part!
@@Ric_93 thanks ric, I've been good for the most part. Could be better but that's just how things are. Thanks for liking the ideas, I hope you've been well too
Title ideas anyone?
You should call it “Sci-Fi Simulator”
After so long, I'm finally back to CZcams again :) It's taken me quite some time to get to a better place (physically, mentally, financially) and I'm very excited to start a brand new devlog series on CZcams! How are you guys??
hi
So... You made 2D Dream for your convenience?... Partially. Cool stuff. Shame that there needs to be some degree of coding nonetheless... Can't Just plug controller and call it a day.
Yes, for now the low-coding/no code aspect of working with RPG Maker is quite appealing to me. I've been VERY close to almost full burnout these past few years, so I'm now paying more attention to how much time/energy I spend on projects. For now, playing around with the software without coding too much is what works the best for me :)
@@Ric_93 But RPG maker have its limitations, I would suggest you to move to some advance game engine, if you feel overwhelmed in coding, I can collaborate with you and handle the development part of the game with you handling the art and design part of it, do let me know your thoughts!
saturation increasing/decreasing is the other way around....
