Most definitely! I try to always go for the higher payload stuff when I purchase now because even though I may not require it at this point, future equipment may be heavier. I’ve made the mistake many times of getting the cheapest things and then regretting it later.

I feel your pain! And I am planning on doing a dialogue problem breakdown once the show is finished so I can go through the whole thing. I know what you mean about why do they do the opposite. I think Kathleen Kennedy just told us why. She made a statement that all the hate for the show is just from a small minority that doesn’t like strong female characters. That this is a show made by women for women and is a great representation of the LGBT community. And then proceeded to say there is no agenda. They care more about making sure as many diverse people get screen time as possible that they forgot to make an actual good plot line. Let’s make a really good story and script first with no regard to who will play what part, and then find good actors for the scenes. One of the basic principles I read in a good screenwriting book was that you don’t want to create a character with a certain actor in mind (granted that is based on not writing for a franchise like Harry Potter or Mission Impossible or Star Wars, but in this case of Star Wars it’s an entirely new story so that shouldn’t be a factor). Just write good characters and THEN see who would best fit the role.

@@CamberFilmSchool is there a role on the production team whose job is to review the overall actions and motivations and things characters have said and double check that they don’t violate something from earlier in the script? I know they film scenes in totally different order so that wouldn’t be the director, is that on the screenwriter? The editors? I just don’t understand how no one on the entire team ever raised their hand and was like, “didn’t we just have our mystery assassin kill a Jedi with a blade? Will it be confusing for the audience to have our mystery boss villain monologue about how the Jedi can’t be killed with weapons?” Or “didn’t we have several instances, like the first two murders, where we established that Jedi never attack first, they always defend? Then we further establish this is part of their training since younglings that they deflect and shield with lightsaber? So if we have a scene where villain floats into the frame, and the Jedi act confused and say “what is it?”, wouldn’t it be strange behavior for them to ignite their lightsabers and charge the villain attacking first? Wouldn’t it be way cooler and more in character if they say “what is it?” And he fucking hurls a lightsaber and spears one of the Jedi so fast that they can’t even react to it quickly enough? I can’t believe in a room full of highly paid professionals, no one had this feedback? Is it a failure of process, or do people have these ideas and they are too scared to bring it up?

I’m taking about setting your timeline that you’re editing with in 1080. You shoot in 4K so that you can zoom without any loss of quality.

Those are great notes for everyone to see! Using the power cord is definitely a must for long shoots. I just got finished with a week long film shoot using this and other similar lights and had them plugged in for most scenes. I really like the ability to program them in the app though so you can easily turn them on/off or change settings. Did you use that feature at all during your wedding shoots?

⁠@@CamberFilmSchoolYes I used the app and created a group and paired both the x60 to a group, once you have added them in a group you can easily control and adjust color temperature and light intensity simultaneously. Gives user the ability to adjust lights without having to walk over and manually make adjustments. App is super friendly and takes less than 30 seconds to pair these out of the box using Bluetooth.

You would have to set the aspect ratio to one of those because you can’t actually change the aspect ratio of the video. I would set the project at 1980 since it’s bigger so it’ll fill up the whole screen and then use overlays for the parts that are 1440.

@tk-zh3dd video is a giant screen full of pixels. FHD or 1080p refers to 1920x1080 pixels. Each pixel has its own color and light information. In order to cut down on the amount of information being stored and keep file sizes small, those pixels are broken down into groups of 8 which are 2 rows high and 4 rows wide. And within each of those boxes of 8 pixels, light and color information is copied to save space. There are so many pixels that yours eyes can’t tell the difference.

The size is of a video is based on the number of pixels in the video which is determined by the resolution you choose (HD, FHD, 4K, etc.). The aspect ratio is the width to height ratio of those pixels. So the basic size of the video depends on which resolution you’re using.

It’s ok, but you’re going to be missing out on a lot that you would get from something like the Canon R50 or Sony ZV-E10.

I didn’t think Daisy Ridley was terrible in the role of Rey, but I’m wondering how they’re planning on using her character to further destroy Star Wars.

@CamberFilmSchool Daisy Ridley and the other cast in the Star Wars sequel were good. They worked with what they had to tolerate, and it's to their credit giving how divisive the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Yet I feel that will not be enough for the Rey trilogy. If what Headland's flawed series broke the franchise, Chinoy's will likely cripple it based on what she projects, and her leanings be just as radical.

Some of both. I mentioned in the video how there was unnecessary dialogue that didn’t contribute to making the story any better. And it being boring because the show dragged on with not much happening as it focused on ways of showing those ideological points rather than being a simple good vs evil Star Wars story.

That’s a valid point. Perhaps I’ll make another video focusing on poor story dialogue and bad filmmaking in general after the next episode comes out.

I think for one, you are right in the sense that it's wise to know the very viewership/readership that you're likely to market to, but it's also worth while to know that sometimes you just make the artwork for yourself as well. In school, I learned that the hard way, the some times it's not worth it to try to reach those that may view/read/experiance your work. Sometimes you just do it for you own expression, to get it out. And it's yourself that you're trying to communicate to. I realize that this is an exception, Not the rule? But it's worth noting. That aside, I could learn a whole lot from you and admired what you presented here. It's not like your video didn't resonate with me. It most certainly did. You absolutely should make art for yourself. But it’s a different story when you’re brought into a massive half-century franchise with millions being invested into it with a solid fan base foundation. In that case you should be writing to them and do what THEY want. If it makes sense to add in your ideals to parts of that story, then that’s cool. But it’s definitely being forced in this case. If Headland wanted to make a movie about LGBT oppression, she probably could have been successful in some other stand alone project rather than a Star Wars show. I’m currently working on my own feature film, and I fully expect NO ONE to watch it because I’m doing it for me. 😂

Art is different for us, which are liberal minded individuals. Free thought and free expression, we are content to share our imagination and abstraction. She, however, doesn't care. She's indoctrinated, and her ability to venture into new realms of fiction is neigh impossible. Her only objective is to proselytize to you and I. To try and demoralize. It's truly sad, to be honest. That aside, fun fact! I ran the first 3 episodes script thru Meta AI and had it perform and analyze the potential IQ range of the literature. It gagged it at around 66 to 80 IQ. The reasoning it gave was spot on. See here: "Vocabulary complexity (lexical density): 70-80 (above average) - The script uses a diverse range of words, including some less common terms like "Ascension," "coven," and "Shyriiwook" (a Star Wars language). Sentence structure and length (syntactic complexity): 60-70 (average to above average) - The dialogue consists of mostly simple and short sentences, with some longer sentences and occasional complex structures. Semantic coherence and cohesion: 65-75 (average to above average) - The narrative flows reasonably well, with some scenes feeling a bit disconnected. Use of figurative language and literary devices: 50-60 (average) - There are some metaphors (e.g., "the Thread") and symbolic elements, but the writing is mostly straightforward. Overall writing style and tone: 60-70 (average to above average) - The tone is generally consistent, oscillating between mystical, ominous, and emotional moments." Despite the grades given, I had to correct AI on tne arithmetic as it tried to claim a median of 105 to 115. It admitted it boosted the median average calculated due to bias. I had it recollect the academic literature to determine if the intended bias metric was correct or if rigid arithmetic is to be used based on the last 50 years of study. It recalculated it ranges after admitted the proper method to average and it returned a 66 to 80. Just a for fun thing.
