Hey can I get canon 90D over canon r or r8? I already have a 550d with 18-55 kit lens, canon et 40mm macro lens, and a canon 70-200. I am having really hard time to understand what’s better for me to start film making
You can, but you’re not going to have as many video features since it’s an older camera and you’ll have the 30 minute video recording limit. You can always get the Canon EF-RF adapter to use those same lenses with an RF mount camera. If you’re wanting to do mainly filmmaking, the mirrorless RF mount is probably the way to go as far as getting better video features.

Just subscribed, very glad I found your channel! I'm very interested in stills (24MP or higher, for amazing quality even while zooming in) and cinematography (4k) . After days of research, it seems like a mirrorless camera is preferred based on size/weight, particularly if I'm going to be traveling. Do you happen to have any recommendations for those criteria, under $600? Excited to start deep diving into more of your content!
It depends on whether you want to have an EVF for shooting stills. I like to still use the flip screen for stills so I prefer the Sony ZV-E10 overall. But if you want the EVF, then the Canon R50 is pretty comparable with video options.

Yes it’s fine for both photo and video. However, I wouldn’t suggest using the kit lens with any camera. There’s a reason they’re so inexpensive. The lens does A LOT more for you than the camera.

I shoot regular standard videos on my iPhone 15 pro max for my church but I need a real camera. What would be a good option ? I post worship videos , I need closeups of faces , some good photos here and there with great zoom quality .

If you have the money for it then I’d go with the R10. Definitely a better quality camera with more features for both photo/video.

Hi, iam new to this whole camera buying scene. Iam currently in media school. My teacher says i should get the canon r5. The price is too steep. So iam digging on the R8. Amazon sells the R8 with a ton of gizmos and gadgets. Again, i dont know jack when it comes to cameras. I want one that can take stills and video. One where i do filming. I understand a lot of it technique. What R8, amazon bundle do you think is a good purchase?
Is there a particular reason it needs to be Canon? Sony has cameras with much better video features at the same price points as Canon cameras.

I’ll probably rent one eventually to try it out. But it’s nearly 3 lbs and that’s quite a bit more than I want to be holding when out shooting/traveling. I tried the 28-70mm f/2 last month and that thing was ridiculous @ 3.15 lbs.

I got a saneen digital camera 4k ultra as my first camera it doesn’t seem like a good camera but maybe I’m just not a good film maker. 😅
Well, don’t feel bad. Most people aren’t good when starting out. Some of my first videos are horrible. But yea, fixed lens cameras aren’t typically going to be as good.
What do you think about an a6x00 series camera?
They’re still good. I just done like the tilting touchscreen be the fully articulating screen. The new a6700 is good, but at that price I’d rather get an a7C.

It’s ok, but you’re going to be missing out on a lot that you would get from something like the Canon R50 or Sony ZV-E10.
Do you have a recommendation for cameras for a 6 year old who loves film making?
An iPhone. There are too many settings to learn with cameras like these for a little kid.

That’s what I do with my kids. I let them use one of our old iPhones, and they make little short movies.
I have a nikon z50, can i do basic short films/ vidoes as a beginner. I'm a photographer mainly and would just do basic short vidoes for university assignment or edits.
For sure. It’s a good camera, but the lenses you use will really make a bigger difference.

@thenoobieditor I prefer a nice 24-70mm f/2.8 ( amzn.to/3VIjZWX ) for full frame cameras for all around. But if Im shooting an actual short film or movie, I typically use f/1.4 prime lenses.
