I swear I still watch gear videos. I'm broke, my credit card is broke, my house is broke. Yet I'm here for the gear videos.
Amen, let us gather anyhow 😅
Gear videos. Yes please.
I need to make more lol!
@@PeterLindgren1 loving the office tour stuff too! Nerded out hard :)
Never get enough gear videos lol 😂 GAS…..ya I love what I do lol 😂
Sony A7iii, DJI mini 4 pro, insta360 x3, rode wireless pro mics, some cheap tripod I got on offer up. I bought it all at once with no knowledge of this field but learning has been fun.
Sony A7 IV, also how did you afford all of that at once bro wtf
2xA7IV, Sigma 16-28, Sigma 24-70, Sony 70-200, Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mic 1, Ulanzi Zero Y Carbon Travel Tripod, DJI Pocket 3
That’s what I’m rocking as of now.
Gets me through all corporate gigs and SoMe-stuff.
Great video, as always 💪🏻
Same, mini 3 pro and DJI mic 1 definitely do the job absolutely perfectly
Love your tricharger and the story behind it 👍
Great video. Love the "simple" kit and complete explanations. Clean, quick, and packed with helpful information.
Glad it was helpful!
@@PeterLindgren1Quick question. Are you preparring version of your charger for Panasonic? I absolutely love the concept but I'm married to the Lumix S5II kit at the moment.
Thank you Peter 👍
Your content help me a lot
This is super helpful Peter! Thanks 😊
Good stuff! Even better, the internal mics on the zv-e1 are pretty good. Especially with what we can do to audio in post now days.
Love a gear video!! You have all my dream gear in my wishlist!! LOVE IT!! The new studios' looking awesome
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you, Peter! I always click on the like button even before watching any of your videos and never regret it. I had 2 Sony A7III cameras, then sold one and bought FX30 - which was a huge stepping stone for my own business. Now I'm thinking of selling the second A7III to get the ZV-E1 as a full-frame camera. I have a question regarding the shotgun microphone - would you recommend the Sony ECM-M1 mic? Is it the newer and better version than the ECM-B1M? Thanks!
Loved this video, Peter 🙂🙌🏼
Great videos! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video. I’m not a videographer but my son is and we both shoot Sony. He has the A7SIII and my 16-35/2.8;GM I lens and I upgraded to the new GM II version. Have several full size full frame Sony cameras but I am using the new Compact C A7CII and A7CR. Bought the Julio
Tri-charger based on another video you did and it’s great for travel. We haven’t bought a drone yet but maybe this coming year. Thank you for sharing what you are using. Take care.
Great video. So many individual reviews of products, but not many like these collective gear reviews. Had the unintended consequence of getting me to research many of these products during the video lol
I grabbed your Tri-Charge when I upgraded to the A7C II brother, a few month back now , Awesome product love it! and we'll done 👌
Thanks man, love to hear this!
Bro! Love the color grade 🔥🔥🦾
That new studio looking sweet! ZV-E1 is the best!
Except when you try to live stream in 4K. Doesn’t last even 20 min when I tried it. At least the Sony A7siii lasted a while…
@@petersuvara I’ve never tried live streaming on it, but it does overheat in 4K 120fps after about 15 mins, but I mainly use 1-2 min bursts.
Canon M50MKII, Canon 15-45mm, Rode VideoMicro, Sigma 150-600mm, DJI Mini 3 Pro, Urth ND and CPL filter, and SmallRig CT-180 Tripod. I use mine more for photography and it works very. Will be upgrading my lens and body at the end of the year.
PETER! The setup looks epic!
Thank you!!
I started with a gopro hero 4 I bought off marketplace then got a gopro 8 now I have gopro 8 and 10 sony zv-1f canon r50 with 2 kit lenses wireless mics 2 rode shotgun mics countless lights and attachments for the cameras. Backdrops for filming and photography latest buy was the DJI r3 mini pro
I have had it overheat on me at two different weddings, shooting in 4K60 FPS oddly enough they weren’t during the ceremonies they were actually during the speeches
But I don’t give a shit I love the camera. It’s freaking amazing.
Only thing I would change would be the body. I’d go (and I may be biased lol) Sony a6700. I know it’s a crop, but that 26mp for photo helps. Especially when you don’t lose anything on the video side.
I was on eos R + 15-35mm shooter for a while, but you convinced me to switch to Sony :)
Now I'm running around with Sony a7iv + 16-35mm f2,8.
In backpack I have 55mm f1.8 for photos and b-roll, same microphones and Dji Mini 2.
Waiting for v2 of the peak design tripod, until sticking with Pgytech mini tripod.
Seems that now I need to get Tri-charger, you are selling gear to me very well :)
My setup:
ZV-E1
Sony 20mm 1.8
Sony 35mm 1.8
Zeiss 85mm 1.8
DJI Pocket 3
DJI Action 4
I'm thinking about adding a standard zoom to my setup to have some versatility when traveling, but overall I'm pretty happy..
What do you use the pocket 3 for with the Zv-E1?
@@petersuvara Vlogging, B/C camera, tracking camera.
Riktigt bra video!!
im using the sony a7iii with the kit 28-70 lens and the dji rs3 gimbal. ive been looking to upgrade my camera to more of a video first camera or a newer hybrid camera
great ☆ in the next video i would like to see some light recomamdation for video
Great video Peter😊, the only thing that is missing in this set up is the gimble, everything else is great.
I very seldom use a gimbal though!
I'm still using the A7R III and remember your videos about it, I'm not making videos so this is a monster camera for my photos. Otherwise, if I'd start videos, I'd go with any camera that can do slow mo and s-cinetone, so the a6700 or at best the FX 30 which in my opinion is the go to for great videos at a good price
Great video and great advice Peter. 👍 One thing that I’ve noticed since I bought my camera (Panasonic Lumix GH5) is that you should really take your time to research what camera you should buy. Depending on what you will use it for there’s pros and cons for each system. AND the main thing why this is important is that it’s an expensive pain in the b*tt to switch systems (most probably) 😂
Keep up the good work! 👊
YES! This is incredibly important haha!
Great setup, I have the zv-e1 with the tamron 17-28 f. 2.8. Only have the dji mini 2, but it works fine (will most likely be my next upgrade). Other than that, not much stuff… 😅
I have sony a7c as my main cam.so far so good 😎
Great video! I use a budget version of what u use. :)
That’s exactly what’s in my backpack except for ZV body. U use a combination of A1 (stills) and FX3 (video and stills in extreme lowlight which A1 covers with high ISO)
Yeah I got the A1 in my day bag whenever I’m on the go as an extension of the ZVE1!
My stuff is aging, but I still like it. It's been accumulated over many years. I'm only upgrading once I can justify it by being more consistent, and I feel that I've truly outgrown it. :) Here's the list: Canon 80D, DJI Mini 2, Sony ZV-1, DJI Mic v1, GoPro Hero 7 Black, Insta360 One X2, Zhiyun Weebill-S, Peak Design aluminum travel tripod. The ZV-1, Mini 2, DJI Mics, and Insta360 are part of my EDC. Oh... and my iPhone. Appreciate you, man!
The mini 4 is absolutely worth upgrading to 🤌🏼
@@PeterLindgren1 I’ll take that under advisement. 😀 I forgot to mention the Tri-charge! I love that thing. Everybody asks about it. 😎
Caged ZV-E1, Samyang 35-150 F2-2.8, Nisi True C VND, Black Mist 1/4.
DJI RS4 Pro (on it’s way).
I started with an a6400 and a couple apsc lenses, upgraded to the a7III when it was used and available and nowa days I am on a FX3 with several full frame lenses. I worked my way up thru client work and tax returns since I started my filming journey in 2019.
I still have my a6400. Not selling it because it's still great for many things
@@sebastianbalog yes I still get both of my a6400s as well
I use the same lol DJI mini 4 pro and ZVE1
Your video is awesome.. but your words is my enlightment. I have ZVE1 and am looking for one lens to-do-it-all. But your words about the reason why ZVE1 is interchangeable, made me realised how dumb i am hunting for one lens only in this camera eco system. I should have bought ZV1 or RX100 VII, if i want a one-lens solution. the interchangeable camera should be used with different lenses.. i know my idea is dumb for one lens fit all, i guess i am but sometimes being idiotic. Anyway Thank you with your wise words, i need to hunt for prime lens now as i have PZ 16-35mm. I always love your contents and i pray your business with battery casing will bring good fortune. I know you have a lot of creative ideas for invention.. good luck sir. 😊
I’ve accumulated a few cameras myself but I am looking at getting the ZV-E1. Less expensive than the FX3 and more features than the A7SIII. I’m keeping my A7III as a photography camera.
Do you have a good recommendation for an on camera mic for a canon system?
2:47 yes hell of an expensive lens. Starting out the Tamron 17-28 for most is more than enough and a fraction of the cost. Just my 2 cents. Love the video as usual Peter! 🔥
I've used the tamron several times (i evenhave one), but it is simply not reliable!
@@PeterLindgren1curious as to why it’s unreliable for you?
AF issues, Dust sucked in to the zoom barrel, lack of contrast in sharp light
Hey, on what camera have you filmed the A Roll in this video?
My current setup
Sony a7R IV
Sony 50mm 1.8
Manfrotto befree tripod
Nazgul v5 FPV drone
Thinking about upgrading some stuff tho👀
Hey Peter,
first off it was a nice video. Eventhough i was hoping it was more for like less expensive equipment.
Nevertheless the Tri-Charge got me interested. BUT i was wondering if there is one for the EN-EL 25 batteries from NIKON?
Thx for the input! Andreas from Alingsås…
Congratulation for reaching 1 million subscribers!!!
Hahaha still 400k away 😂
can' afford anything here yet, but definitely coming back for that tri charger thingy 🤩😍🤩
You need a Sony handycam hi8. I think you would have alot of fun with one of those cameras
Peter, have you tried the Nikon z8?
Just put the camera on the other side of the tripod, works perfectly.
There’s always workarounds but try tilting it up or down lol
@@PeterLindgren1 yeah, that's true, it has to be straight
Canon EOS R, EFtoRF adaptor, Yongnuo EF 35mm, Canon EF 50mm USM 1.4, Sigma EF APO 70-300 😉🤙
I use Canon M50 and røde mic and been looking for upgrade to Canon R6 or something similar from Sony but its so hard to decide. Greetings from Finland 😁
Thanks for many good videos. I think I have to upgrade my microphone... ;-)
Do you never use cage and/or top-hand? How does this microphone work if it's not connected in the flash-shoe (Swenglisch for blixtsko)
/ Matti in Jokkmokk
It only works if connected to the hotshoe!
Incredible content, 🏆but the backpack was missing😁
Hey Peter why not recommend the new 16-25mm 2.8 instead? It's much cheaper and extremely sharp, just less reach. But a perfect cutoff for a 24-70 as a secondary lens.
I’ve used the tamron 17-28 and one of the main things I disliked was the reach.
Not having the reach is in my opinion not worth it!
The power of a good lens.
Camera & Lens...? Ah, I switched from Nikon to Canon years ago and might stay there forever, I guess... ☑Microphone...? Røde makes small(er) sizes, too... ☑ Wireless microphones...? The DJI Mic 2 is already on my wishlist... Basically since your review on them on this channel...😉❌ DJI Mini 4 Pro...? Unboxed mine (switched from an Air 2S and a Mini 2) last week and totally love it! ✅ Peak Design Travel Tripod...? I'm (mostly not) using a small and "light" Manfrotto right now - not happy with it. Recently researched a lot and came to the same conclusion as you did: It HAS to be the PD... Wishlist! (BTW: You COULD switch to another "head" of your choice, PD is selling a replacement for the standard ballhead that makes that possible, just in case you missed that detail) ❌ Tri-Charge...? Oh yeah! Received mine earlier this year! It's great! ✅ Action-Cam...? Jumped on the insta360 train (for filming motorcycle tours) and stayed on it ever since... ☑
When I started CZcams I was always buying new gear that I thought I needed. Now I have a closet full of gear that I never use. lol
I have figured out the few things I need and have been using the same set up for the last couple of years.
So easy to fall in to that trap right?
What’s your main set up now?
@@zoomsday3999 I shoot mostly motorsports so my main setup is a Sony NX80 with the Sony shotgun mic and a Godox monitor on a monopod. I use the Rode Wirless Go 2 when needed and I also use an old DJI Mavic 2 Zoom.
Great review and also great setup not only for beginners 😂
What’s in my camera setup now:
Osmo pocket 3
Osmo action 4
DJI AIR2s drone
iPhone 15pro max
Canon EOS RP for making thumbnails 😊
Thank you for showing that one thing off about the pk- tripod! This have inspired my 2024 setup for sure!
If I'm recording boxing matches or any kind of combat sports, being able to record in 4K 120 for over 30 minutes without over heating comes in handy for those sweet slow motion replays.
There’s no way those matches are 30 min straight lol!?
@@PeterLindgren1 Hahaha 😂, no, but if I'm solo shooting multiple angles, it's easier to leave one going on a tripod while I move around on another. Trying to run over and pause shooting between each match is rough.
Appreciate the video, but a LUMIX GH6 w speed booster gets you an incredible production S35 ecosystem, including pro sound inputs, 4:3 open gate for the most versatile multi format filming, as well as great frame marker capabilities, internal ProRes HQ, 120fps 4k, 300fps HD (without a crop) and the best IBIS on the market. Regarding autofocus, if you’re just starting out, learn manual focus first, and don’t get locked into a system because of convenient autofocus. Oh yeah, 12ms rolling shutter speeds as well…
Shooting in low light with an m43 sensor is 🫠
I own a ZV-E1 but the overheating issue is quite serious unfortunately. I don't even record in 4k and the camera does get warm after 10-15 minutes, so I'd still recommend the A7SIII or the FX3, which aren't that expensive if bought used.
Have you set the temperature turn off to high?
@@PeterLindgren1 I have, but still no luck. And I also record with all the doors/screen open.
Amazing recommendations, and I agree with pretty much everything. However, I think you left out one of the most important things/category, and that is lighting. With good lights you can have a much worse camera setup any still create high-quality footage.
It really is a great camera. You missed out on the amazing image stabilization. The ZV-E1 one was the first camera with the Dynamic active Stabilization which actually makes a gimbal unnecessary for most of your shots.
What about gimbal? My footage looks too shaky when I shoot handheld on A7c (lens Sony 35 1.8).
I’d say it comes down to practice
Does it overheat zve1 in 4k outdoor heat
Can't believe you still recommend the 16-35 after all these years!? It's so massive and heavy. Surely there must be better, smaller, cheaper alternatives out there? Surely. I'm still on crop because full size is just so big and expensive. Spent ages thinking of ways to spend twice as much until I realised I didn't need to.
Nice video dude. Solid options for pro work, and those new dji drones look amazing.
Of course there is a smaller one, it’s the MkIi
But this one works great 👍🏼
Between the ZV-E1 and the a7 IV, which would you pick being that they’re comparably priced? A7 IV seems to get rated higher in every shootout, so curious to your thoughts Peter.
If you’re more towards photos, then the A7IV!
Some great bits of kit there. I will just say that if I was just starting out I wouldn’t have the money to spend on all those things. I have had to start cheap and used. I will upgrade my gear as I make money on CZcams.
That’s kinda what I say towards the end of the video 👍🏼
@@PeterLindgren1 ahh I’ve not finished watching 😂 wasn’t hating though I love your videos 👍
ZVE1 is great but where are the pancake lenses from Sony?
Man, I NEED to know how you take those BRoll product shots. Depth of field looks much lower than F2.8. Focal length looks fairly long. Maybe like 85mm? But if it's an 85mm prime lens, how do you get such smooth shots when most primes don't have OSS? Would you be able to use a gimbal with that long of a lens?
Using the 50mm 1.2 GM 💪🏼💪🏼! Incredible lens
@@PeterLindgren1 Didn't know that lens was so great for BRoll! I'm lucky it's one of the few that I have! haha
what is the slider you are using ? can we get a video in it please?
Im not using a slider 🤷🏻
Check out the Ulanzi carbon fibre tripod. It doesn't have the same issue with the ball head. It is cheaper and have great ecosystem with their F38 mount.
Is it as small and easy to use as the PD? I love this thing haha
@@PeterLindgren1 the Ulanzi is 180g lighter, collapsed length is 3cm higher, and cost is about 50% cheaper. Stability wise, both seems pretty bad but you would expect from a compact tripod that my wife is 'happy' to lug around :)
Is the circumference smaller?
I feel like the PD is such a tightly built tripod 💪🏼
Crazy from an audio engineer/musician perspective I feel like the rode mics aren't good at all the high end and mids are so exaggerated and I always had to do post editing on the audio. The DJI's I can just grab and go and add maybe a light compression
A WORD OF ADVISE regarding CANON TRICHARGERS!
The Canon Tricharger isnt fully functional yet. It has problems with the 2022 / 2023 produced Canon LP-E6NH batteries. I've been in contact with them for several months and they cant get it to work properly. It seems to be charging, but it never shows the right charge/leds. I've got one store bought and one updated example straight from Jupio, they still doesnt work, sad to say.
They are having big problems with decoding: "it’s extremely hard to decode the battery status information of the latest OEM LP-E6NH batteries."
As of now they say "Right now, we are considering placing a footnote on the product stating that in some cases the Tricharge could show less LEDS than it should."
So if you use the LP-E6NH batteries, do consider if to buy this product or not.
Yeah i know about the issue, and it sucks. I've been on it since i heard about it first time, just haven't gotten a good update yet.
The unit works as intended, except for the LED's.
Still not giving up on a fix for it, but yes, if you use the LPE6NH (only the NH), then it won't be working properly.
At Olympic weightlifting meets, there is always a slow mo camera just rolling.
I doubt they’d buy a ZVE1 then 🤷🏻
I think the best tripod system are Novoflex
How did you etch the prime logo onto your gear?
I didn’t, it’s my actual product.
@@PeterLindgren1 That's awesome, I just got to that part of the video. Great job on designing a product!
The problem in hot county it overheating extremely fast, even sony @7 mark II and III doing same thing. Regardless the length of your video😢
Jag kör just nu enbart på osmo action 4, och osmo pocket 3! Dji 4 mini är på inköpslistan👌
If I didn’t already have A7S3, I would get the ZV E1. If I didn’t already have the Mini 3 pro, I’d get the mini 4 pro.
Convenient charging, if there was an original one from Sony it would be even better)
This is the original Pr1me version 😎💪🏼
What’s your thoughts on the Insta360 cameras, though cause I just picked one of those up
Personally I’m not a big fan. But it’s awesome if you like it!
iPhone 13, GoPro 12 , DJI Mic 2, DJI Mini 3, DJI Osmo Mobile 6
How can i get your text style ?
I have heard that if you use a drone to get footage that you're using in a video that's posted on a monetized channel, you have to have an FAA drone license. This is in the US, obviously. If your video is not monetized, you don't need the license because it's essentially just a hobby. But monetized? Yeah, FAA license needed.
Where can i get those infographics??
Link in the description
When I at some point move on from my iPhone to make videos for my channel it’s 99% sure is going to be a Sony … unless Nikon pulls something REALLY sweet out of the hat and surprises everyone on the video front (not likely) but there is just something about their color science with photography (yes, I do have an 11 year old Nikon d7100 that can barely film 1080p in 30fps for 20 minutes …).
But most likely sony, whatever feels right when I have the cash, just something about the whole sony eco-system (and the lens mount philosophy they have) that feels *right* …
Hey Peter , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
Have you ever touched on the subject, where would you be as a content creator, if the platform CZcams disolved?
Oh several times. I’d probably do something else.
It’s like saying “have you ever thought what would happen if you got laid off”
Sony zv-e1 against sony a6700? I still feel like the a6700 is a clear winner here. change my mind?
Lumix s5II and osmo pocket 3
I want that mic so bad but it is so expensive, and it only has a single use. And I already have plenty of mics
Because Sony cameras don't have pre-roll, for wildlife, there are scenarios you record continuously 4k120 for long periods of time.
I doubt the ZVE1 is the best fit for wildlife though 😅?
@@PeterLindgren1 of course but overheating in continuous recording is an issue in this case. I have the A7iv and it overheats in 4k60 continuous recording ! And it drains the battery so fast ! Maybe other Sony cameras overheat in 4k120, like the A7siii or fx3?
The only solution with Sony is an atomos ninja with pre-roll, or...switch to the FX6.
Is that a car seat in the background? 😅 New upgrade to the studio? 😂
Haha yup! Had to sacrifice some space lol
@@PeterLindgren1 haha would love a Q&A with Amanda to get her input on all the changes 👍🏼
I think A6700 is rather better choice than zve
How come?
@@PeterLindgren1 I think we get all the main highlight features in A6700 and it is priced very low as compared to zve .
