The very instant this buggy got made by Roger Curtis and released 1984 the whole rc world flipped over on it’s ABS bodies. This thing was slick, light, and cutting edge technology. Its even made its way into Hollywood. 80’s pop culture cool! This will no doubt b...

In this episode I take a fairly tired nearly 32 year old Team Losi XX and go all out to bring it back to road worthy and in my opinion shelf queen status with a bit of hard work and some new goodie’s to enhance the experience. Once restored I take it out just to see what the buzz was and I got to say I was beyond impressed and all on 30 year old tires too! Absolute beast. So grab a beverage and...

Excellent restoration. Love the green too. Thanks for showing the body repair.. turned out great. Funny how the Striker isn't a universally loved RC from back then. But it's definitely a classic! Nice work!
@@steveblackbird5174 hey thanks. Luv restoring rc. Happy Summer. 😎
They Look great Luke.
Thanks so much
And the bigbig problem is the spare parts 🤬🤔😕
@@joseaugusto-vd9vg thank you for watching
I have team associeted T4 from 2006.and its possível tho find Spare parts 👍
Hell yeah, im still crossing my fingers i get one 🤞 team associated really did shaft us over here, only about 60 kits for the whole of the UK and Europe 😮 they really need to pull there finger out as they could of sold a lot more kits, 60 wouldnt even be enough to supply demand in the UK alone. Hope they do a regular run of them like everyone else does 🤞
@@lo2713 I’m not sure if AE will but it would be great financial sense. I know eBay has them but at a mark up. If it’s vintage rc it’s got dollar signs. Good luck to you and others. ✌️
@@LukesVintageRC yeah i hope they do, the rc10, rc10T and rc10 team or graphite would be great to release, no limited numbers nonsence. Just a regular run, with full spares back up 👍
Heck yeah. My friend has an original black pan rc10T that he raced in the 90’s. It’s been drilled with 20 Lightning holes to make weight distribution even and lighten it up. He bought it new in 91.
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers nothing like vintage rc. Thanks for sharing and happy holiday buddy
Do you think AE expect this to be raced ? And perhaps parts supported for a time? Or maybe allow the aftermarket to do the parts? I look forwards to the build and electronic choices
@@danjaz2000 great question, I’m thinking more so as a collector type thing. Thanks 😊
They said more of a collector item. Doesn't even have bearings... They made it "cheap" to keep the price point down.
Great video Luke.
@@rcicons4915 thank you tons sir.
Great! I am looking forward to the build video. Have you already made a decision about motor and esc?

It’s so cool they are releasing these kits, I never had one when I was kid. Closest I ever got was one from radio shack. Good times!!
It was the same for me as a kid too. Thanks 😊
Congrats on getting one and mine showed up today as well. I will digging into it soon and I look forward to seeing it all built! Have fun building your and you have your hands full doing two!! LOL!

I appreciate you tons my friend.
love it~really outstanding upload, I'll be back. 🎥
Truly appreciate you
I'm really disappointed with Team Associated for not making enough RC10 re-issues so that I could buy one. Consequently I will not be buying anything else from them.
I was the same never got my rc10,although my rc10t will be here friday. Great video luke
Great video luke , mine will be here friday for the show too hopefully
Its released in batches. You can still get an rc10 directly from associated, you just have to watch the site for when more become available. Its currently out of stock. Not discontinued.
@@Iamfirebird360We've only had one batch in the UK with shops not knowing if any more are coming.
Looking forward to the build. Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane, Luke!

I still have that same one. My grandfather had bought it but I lost the remote and it hasn't been driven in about 30 years.
Thanks for sharing and watching. More videos available and arriving.
Great job on those cars! I've never had an RC10. These vintage reissue cars are really tempting to me...but the prices are insane, in my opinion. I know this hobby is expensive, but damn!
Perhaps a used one. Thanks for watching many more videos ahead.
Awsome job x3 😁 the driver figure looks sweet 👌 ive never fitted one as its a faff when racing. But i may look at getting the rc10 40th figure painted up for the shelf ? Looking forward to the buyee box’s 😁
Yeah I will do a paint up for my runner rc10 but I’ll probably just paint it but minimal polycarbonate excess. Thanks again
Any tips on tightning tracks on nikko shredder?
Maybe Nikko forums could help.
Awesome video👌🤩 Soon I'll do the same😉💪
Thanks, I subbed, I’ll watch

Wow great vid dude and glad you feeling a bit better.. love the RC10 such a brilliant design.. Pete 😊👍

@@LukesVintageRC I never miss an episode buddy. Always great.
Man i regret selling my rc10
Great video Luke. Really nice to see all 3 of them running around.
Thank you for stopping by, here’s to Happy Summer.
SO many BEAUTIES!!! The clear one I don't know if those clear parts are made out of polycarbonate or not but if they are I think they may be stronger than the nylon? Not sure?
Thanks a ton and have a great summer
All 3 look great and the RC10 is such an Iconic buggy! I am glad you are on the mend and feeling better. Have fun romping around with the original one!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. Godbless
Good to see you’re back… but dental surgery isn’t really pleasant afterwards. I had to get hernia surgery and it wasn’t fun at all…. But once it was healed… it was smooth sailing.
Thanks for watching and sharing
The wheelie in the end was perfect!! Beautiful restoration Mate. I've never seen the insides of one. Never knew of the inboard front shocks either. simple elegant design...I guess much like Marui in the day. Is the plastic still flexable? I recently picked up a very thoughfully restored Ninja and of course I stripped it right down and rebuilt it and was blown away at how flexible all the plastics still were. Not like a vintage Tamiya at all. Was a real pleasure to work on. It's absolutely gorgeous. Gearbox is rather loud despite my checking it multiple times, ball racing and buying a mod 0.8 pinion, no change in sound...it's ok at speed though and no nylon shavings lol. A little late in the piece but my hat is off to you for preserving these icons.
First let me say you got a great car. Plastics on my car are fairly flexible minus the chassis which is ABS but good quality for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience and hope you enjoy the hobby as much as I. Thanks 😊
Please send the build info is this a hole different chassis or is it stock with mods
Be sure to check out part three. Thanks
Do you know what size rubber boots you used on the rudder to boat
I believe that is in Prt 2.
A new hurricane just posted on eBay
Be sure to check out my other rc videos. Thanks
Great video. I have one of these and it barely moves on the ground, but when I put the wheels in the air it rolls fast. Any idea what is wrong with it? Appreciate the help thanks.
Hi friend, battery life probably the culprit. Try newer batteries. I had used a totally different electrical system so mine would be different. Good luck. Be sure to check out my other videos and subscribe for more awesome videos.
Ok I’m definitely doing a sport tuned 😂
Makes a big difference. 👍
Totally doing the hanger mounts on my new big bear. It’s hot 2 of the 3 of the flimsiest homemade body mounts I’ve ever seen. Also gonna try fixing my tire that’s cracked and flat spotted like you did in your other video
Wish you luck Thad. I know it’s gonna be perfect.
@@LukesVintageRC gonna make this one a runner, as my other one is a show piece
Very nice job, I just purchased same boat and want to restore it ,was wanting to know where to buy new decal kit? thanks.
Sometimes eBay
Hi Luke, looks great. How much would a new Vintage Hurricane go for these days, in box, not assembled? If you could find one?
eBay possibly, thanks
I have one brand new in a box. It’s a great boat, lot’s of fun. maybe I’ll restore the old one and sell the new one?
I found one on FB market place here in UK , boxed original unbuilt £200
beautiful I bought this car second hand and a world opened up for me, Apparently a car that doesn't break down after driving for a while. (CERTAINLY not Tamiya quality!) this is old gold and still top quality!!! Healthy and Friendly Greetings from the Netherlands! Rob
Thank you 😊
Pretty cool car. I swear in the 80s and early 90s they were trying to make cars look real. The stuff in the stores now is all vacuformered rubbish. Thanks for showing that off.
Thanks for watching. 😊
