Customizing my Tail Feather Camper
zhlédnutí 39KPřed 6 lety
I decided to upgrade my 2015 Tail Feather Camper. I wanted a kitchenette and the option for a larger bed when needed so I took to the shop and built a modular cabinet and added jump seats with extensions for the bed. The Tail Feather Camper has been out of production for several years, but a new company promises to have them back on the market this year. Visit QuiteLite.com.

if it only came with a floor, would have loved to put this in the middle of my woods without a trailer
Hello, how much would one of these campers weigh if it were sized for a Toyota 1986 Pickup Xtracab with a bed that is 6 feet long and about 60 inches (5 feet) wide? Thanks!
I've thought about putting one of these on a trailer when I first saw these cabins. What is the roof made out of? I've only seen the cloth top.
Really interested in this! Super cool.
Can we get those heaters with the Quite Lite - Tail Feather?
Can this fit on a trailer ? Pri and cons please
Great job you’re very creative and very handy. Keep up the good work.
Cool to see this company is still alive
This is fantastic!! You folks really have thought of everything! Can't wait to get my Quite Lite camper. 💕Judy
Thanks Judy! Can't wait to get you all set up!
Too expensive!
Dude was WAAAAYYY ahead of his time
Will it be possible for the flood to be made out of the same materials as the wall? Having the wall and floor interlocking would be a better build quality and sturdy design
interesting build. be better if you just filmed the stuff you're trying to show us rather than try to shakily keep yourself in frame 😢
Can you use a wood burning stove in these?
I wish these were actually affordable cuz the people who need them the most are the ones who can’t afford them
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST????????
When we get to Mars lol😂
Let's go!
@@tealcorpintl lol
I’m assuming nobody invested in this idea cause I can’t find anything new on these it’s a shame because I think that they’re really cool but really difficult to get you any kind of camping site
@DM-vb6qy Actually, the company has been purchased and is under new ownership and is shipping products daily. New marketing content is on the way. Please check out our new website www.climatereadyshelters.com
The French built a folding camper trailer with hard sidewalls called the Esterel (spelling?) decades ago. That same fold-up-walls design would work quite well for a very light, low-profile trailer or a roof-mounted/roof-transported shelter. I've an offroad mini-camper that is great for solo (and couple) trips, but I'd like to include others in hard-walled sleeping accommodations, without breaking the budget. Seems like you could make a pretty roomy 6x10 shelter that anybody with a pickup or an SUV, station wagon (rare, these days), or crossover could carry on the roof.
How much
@nicktelesco4950 Our Tail Feather Camper starts at $4999. Please see our new website www.climatereadyshelters.com
That's way too much.
@@JohnSmith-cf4gn The one in the video is 7,999 lol you can build an actual house that size for that price with wood and sheet rock
@@StevenWesleyGraham Or get a good used travel trailer for that price.
The part i cant figure out is where you can buy one i love the design but can't find any information about them.
@coreyagnew4390 Quitelite.com
My birds fit in there!😊
Really neat! How much did it cost??
@arf2847 Our Tail Feather Camper starts at $4999. Please see our new website www.climatereadyshelters.com
People could make large hotels made with these structures on the Moon on Lunar cities. On a Mars soil they could be built inside a Mars city.
Nasa could build lots of those inside a Lunar city or in Mars city. 😊
FYI - I designed, developed, manufactured, and marketed the TailFeather Camper and QuiteLite Shelter from 2009 to 2017. I sold the rights to a company in Boulder, Colorado five years ago. I am very disappointed they have not fulfilled the products potential.
thats too bad. I came across a picture of one built on a 5x8 trailer and was captivated by it. This is an ingenious design and am surprised I am just now hearing about it. I feel like with a little marketing this would be a really popular, affordable alternative to other smaller campers.
these are Not real all Fake and only a few in operation they saying he sells them is a scam tried contacting him because at first I saw these I wanted one but I sent email after email requesting to see where they are made he refused and then no contact for 6 months after sending 500 for a hold to order then the site and number was fake the place in the picture is a diner! Now its says on the web they moved to Australia By By 500 bucks ! total scam!!!
@ericricheson5212 Eric, Please show me where you sent us $500.. We ship 2 to 3 units per week. If you are truly interested. please let me know. I saw your email in April, but you didn't ask any questions that were worth answering. Below is a transcript of your email to us. "Name Eric Richeson Email baleos37@yahoo.com Subject I reporting this as a scam! Message been around since 2011 but nowone has ever seen one other than videos very lame take your site down!"
Hello. Awesome job on the camper very cool. If you want to sell it, please let me know. I would like to take it with me to the Mission field.
From where could i get it 🥰
WHERE TO BUY THESE SHELTERS
excellent.
Some people think making an instruction video means making a music video with no discernable instruction.
Pictures are worth a thousand words.
@@tealcorpintl Not when they don't provide sufficient instruction and that was my point.
How funny your towing with an element
Hi-love your customization! We just bought a used Tailfeather (named her Luna lol) and want to make and install cabinets. How did you attach the cabinet unit to the wall of the camper? I am concerned about screwing into the wall panels. Thanks
Carol, I hope your Tailfeather serves you well. There are threaded inserts about halfway up the wall that can be used to secure cabinets. Threaded inserts can also be purchased at a local hardware store that can be screwed into the curtain rod holes to accept machine screws. Hope that helps.
It looks much more sturdy and livable than a tent. Why aren't the wall panels straight?
A great idea but hardly cheap or easy to transport. I guess good and cheap don't often mean the same thing? I'd be curious how these shelters would stand up to be left out in the wilderness for years at a time as a lodge to stay in while in the middle of no where, how would they stand up to the weather and animals? It would also help if they came in other colours, green for low impact,Orange for rescue work?
I’d love one of these but sadly have nowhere to put it
I came here for the music 🎶.
I don’t know why the architecture design have a resemblance to the Nostromo ship from Alien.
This trailer is so cool! How does it hold up in inclement weather? Im in Oregon and wondering how it would do in the rain.
Como puedo importar a mi pais y cuanto es el coste
Price?
All that talking and no clues on pricing
Price?
where do they find such crappy music for these videos?
Your 8-track collection.
_What_ crappy music? That shit was funky.
Have you considered seeking a defense contract? I’m curious if the military would have interest in something like this. I’m considering how much effort they’ve invested in recent years in tent and mobile hard structures. The old canvas tents are almost entirely gone. They take too long to set up and break down. The army has inflatable tents. They have something called a CHU. Which is a type of shipping container style living space. I’m curious if these could still find a place in the military.
Only a complete moron or rich dude spends $6000 dollars on that piece of garbage. Better off buying 500 foot roll of plastic wrap and wrapping it around a large diameter of 4 trees. $100 bucks can build a house size plastic tarp house in woods.
These things are extremely over priced. Maybe they're new and thats the reason. I do like it though
I am just here to comment on the music.
Love that product I'm only $5,000 away,, which is a fair price I'll be keeping an eye out 😂
With the current build, what temperature with minimal heat could one withstand? Is there a possibility for a modular roof using the same design idea of the walls?
