Customizing my Tail Feather Camper

- I decided to upgrade my 2015 Tail Feather Camper. I wanted a kitchenette and the option for a larger bed when needed so I took to the shop and built a modular cabinet and added jump seats with extensions for the bed.
The Tail Feather Camper has been out of production for several years, but a new company promises to have them back on the market this year. Visit QuiteLite.com. - Zábava
THIS is the Camper families need. Every RV building is pushing $100,000 campers (or more!) and wow, not fun for the family budget.
The QuickLite Camper is something families can put together themselves, and the kids will like decorating it with their own style! :-) PERFECT !
Great job you’re very creative and very handy. Keep up the good work.
I love the fact that you can take it apart. This is really unique! No moldy inside walls to worry about! I would like to buy one - but I would add a flexible solar panel on the roof to run my electric things. Great job! I hope you can get these out soon!
FYI - I designed, developed, manufactured, and marketed the TailFeather Camper and QuiteLite Shelter from 2009 to 2017. I sold the rights to a company in Boulder, Colorado five years ago. I am very disappointed they have not fulfilled the products potential.
thats too bad. I came across a picture of one built on a 5x8 trailer and was captivated by it. This is an ingenious design and am surprised I am just now hearing about it. I feel like with a little marketing this would be a really popular, affordable alternative to other smaller campers.
Awsome job on the camper very cool !
Totally awesome man, got my wheels turning.
great idea man, make one total off grit with solar panels , and maybe compost toilet, people will buy that
great job ! thank you very much !
Really like your campers.
Honestly QuickLite should hire you as a Camper Engineer / Designer.
Just awesome.
Very nice. I imagine, a stationary toilet could be installed, right? If on a permanent location. 🥰
Love that product I'm only $5,000 away,, which is a fair price I'll be keeping an eye out 😂
Thanks for posting. I realize this is a few years old, but are they still making these?
Hi Larry! I just stumbled onto this CZcams. Nice revamp of your TailFeather. I still have mine. Unfortunately, I've had a skylight break in storage. Do you happen to know where those were manufactured? My dad is working on it and I'm not sure if it is the opening one or a stationary skylight. It will be great to be back in touch. What kind of 3 shelf bag is that? Thanks! Great video
This trailer is so cool! How does it hold up in inclement weather? Im in Oregon and wondering how it would do in the rain.
Off the topic? I have a question. How did the HHR that you pulled the Tail Feather with do. Did it have enough power and weight handling to do the job? I notice you have a different vehicle now so was it not able enough?
Where can i buy this genious system in germany?Never seen anything better than this,i want it!
Hello. Awesome job on the camper very cool. If you want to sell it, please let me know. I would like to take it with me to the Mission field.
Hi-love your customization! We just bought a used Tailfeather (named her Luna lol) and want to make and install cabinets. How did you attach the cabinet unit to the wall of the camper? I am concerned about screwing into the wall panels. Thanks
Carol, I hope your Tailfeather serves you well. There are threaded inserts about halfway up the wall that can be used to secure cabinets. Threaded inserts can also be purchased at a local hardware store that can be screwed into the curtain rod holes to accept machine screws. Hope that helps.
I’m not sure what the problem is. It plays fine on my phone and computer. I’d like to hear from others.
you destroyed my dream of having a modular trailer company... thanks
Politely, I cannot hear most of the audio from outside the trailer at full volume. After you go inside, if I listen very closely, I can hear but I struggle to hear every word.
ETA: If you attach a set of earphones, it improves the audio significantly. I can hear everything easily on max volume but the audio is still weak.
In the past, I have encountered several CZcams videos have this same issue. copyzerk's HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL videos also cannot be heard without earphones although copyzerk and others can hear the videos just fine.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. My phone system is at full volume and my CZcams volume is at max also.
Edited for clarification.
Earphones will greatly improve the volume.
How can I get one????
I am very interested in this.
The volume on my phone is on as high as it goes and I have to hold it to my ear.
These units look amazing.
So many questions...how has the camper stood up to traveling? Leaks? What was your final weight after additions? How big a vehicle do you use to pull it? Are you still happy with it? Now..can you pimp mine out when I get it? LOL
My customized Tail Feather Camper weighs in at just about 1,000 lbs including the trailer. I pull it with a 2003 Toyota Highlander. It tows nicely and I have put over 6,000 miles on it. I did have a few minor leaks when traveling all day in a downpour. Those have been addressed. Love the camper!
Need to work on Volume! I can either HEAR It (by putting my Ear Up Yo The Speaker) OR WATCH It, BUT I CAN'T DO BOTH!! Defeats the Purpose of Tuning In!!!
👂 can u hear now!!!!
Possibly your phone, or you need new hearing aid batteries.....sound quality fine, not a problem hearing him at all.
How do you level your camper?
Tell them to start making them again
How are these for under minus 0 F?
Are these tail feathers available anywhere anymore?
If so, I am also wondering how those insulated panels work in various temperatures. It the hot summer sun and the cold snowy winter, how's the temperature inside?
Not currently available but may be back in production soon. Panels are well insulated. They hold heat in during the winter and keep the heat out in the summer. They do not, however, generate heat or cooling. Like any insulation, they slow down heat transfer. See QuiteLite.com

I waount it.
I ordered this trailer and now their phone number is not working and wondering if this is a scam? I am out a lot of money. I am hoping they respond to my emails.
Thank you for posting this. I have forwarded your comment to the owner of the company where you placed your order and will follow up.
@@tealcorpintl thanks someone from the company did contact me, and so he says there is a delay and there is a change in personnel, I think things might be ok he is researching my order. So I will delete these comments soon when it works out. I really, really appreciate your help. I was worried because I was scammed in the past so maybe trauma makes me sometimes un-trusting when sending large payments to people months in advance and then having no phone number. But I really want to like the trailer and the people who work hard to make it and hope we work things out. You seem like a great person and I really like your mods and your replying did greatly help me feel more at ease. Thanks again
Their phones are down and their website has inactivated all links.
ETA: Today's date: April 29, 2019
The current status is someone did contact me and they say they are sending me a refund. As of today the check is said to be in the mail and I will delete my posts when I get the full refund
as of today no check has come. no reply to my emails or texts to someone who says they are helping but not actually employee. I would greatly consider taking this video off you tube as they are not keeping their word to me. It was actually videos like the above that enticed me to order in the first place, now I am out over $6000. I have put in papers to Colorado Attorney General complaining about this.
How can I get one????
Unfortunately, they are not currently available. Hopeful they will be back in production in the not too distant future. Check quitelite.com
@@tealcorpintl Are the cabins available?
@@oopsieeee Not currently available. In negotiations.
So many people put their toilet hacks right next to water supplies and food prep areas. C'mon! That's just bad hygiene strategy. I wish some one would factor in some separation plans beside just suggesting one use it outside. And, moving it would free up more kitchen storage.
In a small space like the camper, there are really only two choices, (1) under the bed/dinette where the odors percolate up and disrupt both eating and sleeping, or (2) in the kitchenette cabinet area.
In my Eddie Bauer Airstream, I use 13 gallon trash bags over the toilet rim as liners and we use generous amounts of kitty litter in each bag. Shake, then double bag. Works great.
@@tealcorpintl L. Drake, in the heat, that odor is horrid. That's why we do the kitty litter method.
I haven't found any portable toilets that don't have an objectionable odor, whether the chemical additive or the biomass. We put up a small camp shower tent for the toilet when possible to keep it out of the camper.
@@tealcorpintl Hi Lawrence! I bought a 10 footer 2 years ago from the fellow who bought it from you about 6 years ago. I found that it leaks so I haven't been able to use it. Can we talk to figure out what I can do about this?
I personally don't like the toilet being up against the potable water tank...
These things are extremely over priced. Maybe they're new and thats the reason. I do like it though
interesting build. be better if you just filmed the stuff you're trying to show us rather than try to shakily keep yourself in frame
😢
All that talking and no clues on pricing
