Simply getting your tree into the biggest show in Europe is never easy, in 2024 I submitted this Scots pine (Pinus Sylvestris) and it was admitted. The Table is Japanese, the pot is by Walsall Ceramics, and The Kusamono is loaned from Herbert and Barbara Obermayer The tree stands 70 cm from the Base to the top of the tree Footage supp...

First styling of a yamadori Scots Pine Bonsai
zhlédnutí 4,5KPřed 11 měsíci
This is the First styling of a yamadori Scots Pine. The foliage was so low down in the tree. Wrapping with Horse Bandage, and using copper wire the tree was styled as an elegant upright. It will take many years for the tree to develop into a bonsai worthy of showing, for now it starts its journey towards that.

Improving the success of collected Yamadori Part 3
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 2 lety
Be sure to watch parts one and two. I have been using this technique now for over ten years and I have finally decided to share what I have learned in these videos. The technique is known as ‘sweating’ and is used extensively in arboretorial circles. I use for the following species: Cratageus, Prunus, and most of the Rosaceae family, do not use on evergreen species.

Areet tony exelent channel m8 Ur a wealth of knowledge I also live in the north of England ( sunny North Shields) I have just received permission 2 collect sum hawthorn, blackthorn and possibly a beech or 2 the problem I have is my window of opportunity is sort b4 these tree's are cleared and lost 4 ever I have successfully collected from this site b4 in late winter but now in the 1st week of July is it possible n worth trying now
Very risky but if they are to be lost then go for it
Sir,I would not hold the plastic for sure with this Kind of saw😢😢😢
Thank you Sir Tony, for giving us another lesson in patience❤❤❤
Dear Tony and Dave, I am glad to see you layered some sloe with success I,'ve tried to layer some spinosa in my garden here over in Germany without any success for many years... I used to believe it must be impossible to layer sloe😢 What is it ,am I wrong? My climate here is rattert dry and hot during summer... So lucky you both🙋🏻♂️
Super results. I just acquired a collected hawthorn of similar height and thickness that is shouting to be separated into two trees so reassuring to re-watch and see your success. I’ve never tried air layering on such thick trunks before so will be a new experience for me.
Patrick was my grandads pig and we loved him dearly ❤️
Wow Tony. I saw them when they first came out back at a gig in Hull. Ha!
I love this song - a real 'yell at the top of your voice' whilst driving in traffic from a bonsai event. Nice cover.
They wrote the song
@@ourantwins123 Never even realised. Thanks for educating an old dummy like me :)
Well, this clearly wasn’t at the new Co-op arena in Manchester, otherwise it would have just been footage of the car park and disgruntled fans… 😊👍
I don’t DO big area events
@@TonyTickleneither does the Co-op arena… 😮

Hello, tôi là người đam mê cây bonsai, nhìn bạn làm tôi rất ngưỡng mộ ,cảm ơn bạn chia sẽ kinh nghiệm ❤❤❤
Great video Tony! I don’t have any Hawthorne in the collection yet, but probably need to get one! Need to check and see if you have any update videos on your Taxus. 👏🏽 🪴 🍁
Any updates on the tree. I would love to see how it looks now
Impossible to uproot this amazing tree
Will this work even if you don't have a greenhouse
It needs to be warm
Beautiful work and results. Respect
Very beautiful!
👍👌🙂
I’m so happy that you’ve documented the progress of all these wonderful bonsai, that you’ve cultivated over the years, so that we can get this type of content. That hawthorn looks good in all seasons. It may look the best in early spring growth or its winter silhouette but I thought it still looked brilliant while it was flowering, too! Loved your work for years. I live in the states and I’m 34 years old. You’ve been one of my favorite artists since I picked it up, a little over a decade ago. I love your work man. Thanks Tony! Nice tree!
Thats probably the best raft I have seen, and i dont really like raft style
what a beautiful natural tree 😊and of course all the work you have put in to make him a show winner 😊you are very lucky man to have found such a beautiful Hawthorne tree made by sheep nature's best bonsai masters 😂😂 keep up the good work and keep showering that tree with love and care 😊
Good job Tony!!! Best regards from Spain!!!
4:36 It's difficult to tell which knuckles belong to the tree, and which to the person holding it
Thank you Tony for sharing the progression of this awesome tree and the creative endeavors to get it where it is now…a bit like us that transform over time! You ripened very well by the way 😀
Majestic! Really nice work, congrats!
Absolutely stunning Hawthorn Tony. Your trees are amazing 😮😊
Good lord. That’s phenomenal. 🤩
Ufffffff!!! What a MASTERPIECE!!! So much time, character and history telling in it!!! Thanks for share this and also the explanation images through time. Blessings from Puerto Rico!!! ✊✊✊💥💥💥
Looking so Wonderful 😮. Thanks for sharing
The best bonsai I have probably seen. What a fantastic video showing much of its progression. Superb
Well done Tony, I hope the new owner enjoys it into the far future!!!
Lovely job
Hows the airlayer coming along. Have you checked it for roots
Too early to say, investigation later in the year
@@TonyTickle best of luck with it
Cheers Tony,, nice material

Absolutely excellent video and a big thanks again for sharing 👍👍
Lovely tree Tony! I was going to trunk chop a young hawthorn for primary branch development this year, but I think I missed the opportunity, as it's already started growing quite vigorously. When would you say the next best opportunity would be, or should I just wait till late winter next year to be safe? I'm in 9b SE UK
Anthony, does this pruning technique apply to Blackthorn trees?
They are slightly different insofar as they do not create 'clusters' when cut
@@TonyTickle Thank you, I'm sure many would appreciate a video.👍How is the Pagoda tree progressing?
