    Very nice video. What I like is that you don't put it in fastforward. So your viewers can learn the pruning techniques. I love hawthorn.

    Great video Tony! I don’t have any Hawthorne in the collection yet, but probably need to get one! Need to check and see if you have any update videos on your Taxus. 👏🏽 🪴 🍁

    I have been waiting for you to do this video for a while. I am just about to tackle a hornbeam stump that is readyt o go into a pot and I am still pretty new to the species when it comes to developing primary and secondary structure. It always seems so difficult to get 'non' right angle shoots. Very useful. thak you Tony :)

    Dear sir After at time of collection do you give the finer branches a heavy prun back? To one or two buds? Or do you leave as much as possible on the tree until it’s restablished in its pot?

      @TonyTickle  Před měsícem

      @@johnrb9397 I remove heavy branches that will not form part of the final image of the bonsai,

      @@TonyTickle thank you for the kind advise. I cut the tree a year prior and it put on lots of growth in the ground. I plan to raise it this year therefore will the many Branches put strain on the remaining root. Do you cut back as much as possible or is more branches and potential leaf mass best to leave for recovery?

    • @TonyTickle
      @TonyTickle  Před měsícem +1

      @@johnrb9397 you can leave as much or as little as you like, hawthorns respond well to pruning that’s why they make good hedges

    Tony do you do commissions on pots ?
    I have a concept for a composition and will possibly be looking for a
    Tray no holes but with a rim to hold at least an inch of water.
    The trouble is it’s
    90cm x60cm
    Is this something you do Tony ? Or could do ?
    Thanks tony
