FINISHED! PART 3 WILLYS CJ5 VINTAGE WINCH BUMPER BUILD | Classic Farm Jeep Bumper
WELCOME BACK! I'm back working on the 1957 Willys CJ5. This time, I'm building a new bumper that will incorporate the old Warn (Bellview) winch that I shared a little while back. This is going to be a fairly simple build to keep with the simplicity of the Jeep. It's going to have a vintage look and style. No modern lighting, no color-matched D-rings. Just a simple channel iron bumper with some shackle mounts, a 2" trailer ball and a winch mount.
I spent some time scrolling through eBay and I found a single, vintage fog light. It was affordable so I bought it. I'm very happy with this little fog light. So I build a small housing to protect it similar in design to the old military blackout lights you would find on WW2 Jeeps.
The bumper is a piece of 3/16" steel. The shackles that I weld on are 5/8". In the end, I'm going to try my hand again at creating a fauxtina finish to match the actual patina on the Willys. Enjoy!

Welcome Back! In this two part series, I start the fabrication of the passenger side seat frame for my 1957 Willys CJ5. For this build I decided to use some 6061 aluminum flatbar. I would like to keep the weight down... plus I need to practice my aluminum TIG welding skills. For this seat, the aluminum is 1/2" thick X 2" wide. I used my portable bandsaw to make some relief cuts in the aluminum ...

VINTAGE WARN/BELLVIEW ELECTRIC WINCH | Before the 8274

WELCOME BACK! I picked up this classic Bellview electric winch not too long ago from an online classified ad. I thought I was buying a classic and collectable Warn 8274, but I think I ended up with something even cooler. I believe this is an early WARN/Bellview electric winch. These were produced by a company called Bellview, but sold under the WARN brand. The top of the aluminum gear housing i...

Welcome Back! Many of you probably don't know this, but I got started playing with vehicles because of old Jeeps that my father had. He actually owned two CJ7's. Later on, my grandfather gave my older brother his 1946 Willys CJ2A and after that, I got a 1948 CJ2A. What I bought is a 1957 CJ5. It's mostly original. I picked it up locally and drove it home about 8 miles. My plan is to do a mechan...
CHEVROLET STEERING COLUMN REPAIR | Ignition, Dimmer and Wiper Switch Replacement!

Welcome Back! I had an electrical problem with my 1984 Chevy K30 truck. I was at the store and when I went to leave, the truck wouldn't start. Days leading up to that, I felt like the ignition switch was going out. I got the truck started and brought it home. In this video, I'll show you how to remove the steering column from the truck. While I have the steering column out, I will of course rep...

Welcome Back! My old Chevy 3/4 ton has always ridden EXTREMELY rough! It rides even worse that my 1 ton K30. I have been meaning to fix this problem ever since I bought the truck. I even purchased a set of new U-bolts within a month after I bought the truck. So I finally made the time to tackle the project. Somewhere in the life of the truck, an owner added 2 additional leaf springs to the stoc...
CHEVY K30 FUEL TANK CLEAN AND SEAL | And Replace Fuel Sender

I was having a problem with my fuel level gauge reading incorrectly on my 1984 Chevrolet K30. I even ran out of gas a couple of times and had to stop IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! I was alone and this truck is WAY to heavy to push by myself. So I ordered a new fuel sending unit and went about installing it. At the same time I figured I would buy a kit off of Amazon to clean and seal the gas tank. ...

In this video, I swap the radiator in my 1984 Chevrolet K30 1 ton. I also did a quick carb rebuild on the Quadrajet, but I didn't film any of that. Somewhere during it's life, an owner moved the engine oil cooler below the grill. I'm not sure why, but this placed the cooler in a very vulnerable position. I took the time to move the big block oil cooler back to it's original location behind the ...

Just a quick video showing how we removed the upper kingpins from my friends 1986 Chevrolet K30 Silverado. This trick does require welding and destroys the old kingpin... so you will have to replace them. The kingpins are threaded in very tightly. Our research states as much as 600ft/lbs of torque. There is a 7/8" Allen head socket in the kingpin, but without the proper kingpin tools, they can ...

In this video I introduce you all to a project that I’ve only shared on Instagram! It’s my 1981 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 flatbed. I bought this truck from a neighbor last year. A lot of vids dont show these small of details such as the addition of speed clips etc . My new dash actually started sticking out a little on the drivers side to where it started to touch the door when closed. I now know i need to put a clip and screw on it. I like your gauges too. Thanks for making this video.

For my 2015 chevy Silverado 2500HD the part # is PL8140 from Amazon. Also I've found 4 brown and yellow wires in that bundle, the right one is the thicker one. There are also 2-3 gray wires as well, the correct one I've found it on the bottom of that bundle towards the center of the truck. Connect the green to the brown/yellow and blue to gray (I've solder my wires)

Love the videos, but I have questions, did the lower control arm adjustment move at all due to loosening? you tighten the low control bolts with no jack under the lower control arm? removing the top hat effect the alignment? Should you mark the lower bolts and adjuster before starting this job. and last, if done like you show will the alignment be the same as it was before? Thank in advance for your answer.

On that corner male connector how about simply trimming off some of the plastic with a razor ? It didn't look like much was needed to clip on right , worst case scenario , if you can't find the right connector.
