- WELCOME BACK! I picked up this classic Bellview electric winch not too long ago from an online classified ad. I thought I was buying a classic and collectable Warn 8274, but I think I ended up with something even cooler. I believe this is an early WARN/Bellview electric winch. These were produced by a company called Bellview, but sold under the WARN brand. The top of the aluminum gear housing is stamped 5687.
This winch was attached to a large, and HEAVY, homemade steel bumper. At some point, someone had the bright idea to weld the heads of the bolts to the bumper. Making removal of the winch a little tricky. It really wasn't as difficult as I though it would be. I was able to easily remove 5 out of the 6 mounting bolts without much trickery. Only one bolt required some creative thinking and extraction techniques.
ENJOY!
Just in!
The Dorsey Semi Trailer from the Knight Rider TV series was presumably fitted with Warn winches (to control the rear ramp and its extension).
I have one of these amazing winches. What a history. Love the video.
My first winch was one of those, found it at an auto jumble in the 80s. Great winch, sad to have had to let it go when times were hard. Your video brings back memories.
I bought one for $50. Was in good condition. Completely rebuilt it, new bearings and bushings, and had power in and power out motor built for it. Never finished the relays to operate it both directions, so it just sits in my garage.
Cool ol winch. Great find.
I got a really nice winch like yours
Oh man that winch is cool
The only thing that could get any better than that would be a pto unit !
another great video👍 cool cj project. im wondering if you thought about an update video of the ol c10? how's the air ride holding up?
Herm the Overdrive Guy has a few parts for Belleview
I have 1 of these. Considering converting it to gas.
What model and type is the winch
