    I needed some additional vehicle supports for an upcoming suspension project I have for the squarebody Chevy c10 project truck. These are simple wooden wheel supports made from fence posts. They should be able to support a good amount of weight as well as having a much larger footprint that simple jack stands.

    I can see some ramps being made to allow a vehicle to drive up on them.

    Was that a bat or a very large moth that flew by at 2:10 ?

    If you are going to do a suspension mod , won 't it be better to support it on the frame , thus your suspension is free to remove

      Yes. But I have to work with the space that I have. My biggest concern is that my driveway is slightly sloped. I wanted something to support the truck that also had a large footprint that would not tip over. My plan is to work on one end of the truck at a time using these wheel lifts under one end, and traditional jack stands under the frame at the other end.

    You show building a 6 log high stand. But then, at the end, your truck is on a 4 log high stand. Did you change your mind and think it was too tall after all?

      I agree...WTF? I also want to see him put it up on the 4 or 6 log stand.

      +tardzan1968 I had to take some wood out because my floor jack would not lift the truck high enough. Turns out that a 4 log stack was high enough anyway.

      Accuair air management. Bolt on brackets for the front bags and a custom link setup for the rear.

      +jason3fc ... The stands you built in the video are 2 pieces of landscape timber taller than the picture of the truck at the beginning of the video...the picture at the start of the video, with 4 pieces of 3" timber would only lift the wheels less than 12" as the tires fit between the top 2 pieces...the pair that you built have more pieces of landscape timber on top increasing the height.. why the difference??

    • @milkcrate82
      @milkcrate82  Před 7 lety

      My floor jack would not lift the truck high enough to slide the taller stands under the tires. Had to take some wood out.

      milkcrate82 ...time to build a raised stand for the jack so it will lift as high as u need...👍
