    Hello. Just asking, cranckase gases could escape from under copper o-ring into valve cover? Or does this engine separates injectors from space under valve cover? Got same engine, got gases problem and wondering, if replacing copper o-ring could help me solve the problem....

    • @HintSlice
      @HintSlice Před 6 dny

      Hi. Yes this engine separates injectors from space under the valve cover. If gases escape from under copper o-ring they go straight to the outside so you will hear it. Most likely you need to check for the carbon buildup inside of the intake manifold. Not long ago i was cleaning intake manifold from the carbon buildup on this engine, it was not much carbon inside, like on tge VAG cars:), but it was there. maybe this is the reason

    • @HintSlice
      @HintSlice Před 13 dny

      first of all you need to check the injectors on the test bench for the damage and if injectors fail replace them. Then you will have to clean: all fuel lines, fuel tank, electric fuel pump in the fuel tank(most of the time electric pump is not damaged), change the fuel filter, change high pressure fuel pump, bleed the fuel system, start the engine and You Ready to Go.czcams.com/video/qz_pTONZ3CU/video.htmlsi=EAcRcWXPTx0aj5FJ

      @@caldwell1981ac First, what came to mind was to take it off and flush. A second option without removing the fuel tank is to try pumping out all the fuel with metal shavings and making something like a bigger version of the cotton buds to clean inside the fuel tank. Of course, if there is enough space to do this procedure.

      The second diamond washer was there, trust me there was two of them 18:28 . It must have two of them because they prevent bushing from rolling by itself (for sure). I was also worried about how they would come off, but it turns out they came off pretty easily no struggle at all , maybe because no one washed that engine twenty thousand freaking times a day like some clean engine enthusiasts ) and also this injectors have O-ring seal so the water or any dirt should not come in between them and chamber .

I was using: 10mm wrench to undo electric harness 10mm socket 3/8, 1/4 to undo valve cover 12mm socket to undo bolts of the injectors Needle nose pliers to remove spring clamps from te injectors fuel return line Torque wrench Grease to grease up injectors, ceramic grease is commonly used but i was using copper grease Coloured covers are from hand sprayer and white covers are from selant torque Tightening : Injector clamping piece bolt 28-30Nm valve cover bolts 7.8-9.8 Nm So the reason I do all this stuff in the video was valve cover gasket leak and you won't be able to take off valve cover without removing injectors (in my case they were fine) and according to manual you need to replace copper washers every time you remove injectors If you have some issues with injectors the work of the engine will be unstable.

I activate the fuel pump with 12v for a few seconds and close this first nut. Then, I loosen the nut on the next injector and start the pump again. I repeat this procedure until all 4 injectors are complete. So, only one nut is loose at any given time. Is that correct?

    hi, how long it did it take if cranking for the engine to start? thanks. you’re videos helped me do my hpfp on my f11

    • @HintSlice
      @HintSlice Před měsícem

      Hello, I don't remember for sure, but it takes something like from 1 to 2 minutes may be 3 but with pauses. It's like you crank it up for 30sec if it doesn't start, just apply power to the electric fuel pump again, and it will start. There are no complaints from the owner of this car about starting any way, so dont worry. And onother way you can fill the system using hand pump (but with 100% clean fuel ) thru the injector high pressure pipe. Just connect hand pump hose to the one of the injectors HP pipe, slacken union nuts on the other 3 injectors and pump in fuel until only fuel come out without air bubbles then tight everything back plug in connectors and l think engine will start very quick. I will show this pfocedure in next video (not long ago I do this on passat b7 2.0tdi and engine starts right away) But remeber fuel must be 100% clean.

    .....so basically, the build up of carbon restricts the shutter valves from moving freely- opening and closing. This new constant resistance eventually wears down on the gear wheel teeth. So you'd want to clean it out regularly. I have ordered a new throttle body/anti-shudder valve. I removed the cover on that and it was full oil.... gear wheels and electronics all covered. Great video, thanks!

    Heck yeah, awesome video. About as perfect of a DIY video as you can get. I checked out 3 other videos, and a lot of the comments state that they came here only for the injector seals in the valve cover, and it still leaked after changing. I think this video sums up why you should do the whole valve cover gasket. From when he turns it over after he takes it off, you can see how much of a groove that seal has to go around the underside valve cover. I bet my bottom buck all of these people that still had issues only tried to pry out the lip seal in the installed valve cover and couldn't see that the new seal was pinched and not seated properly on the underside when reinstalled. Quick question, I have OBD11, What function in the diagnostics do you use to bleed the system? Is it just the lift pump like you would use to do a fuel filter, or is it a different function for past the HPFP?

    • @HintSlice
      @HintSlice Před 2 měsíci

      Thanks for comment. I don't know how it goes in obd11 but in VCDS program it is called "Transfer Fuel Pump (FP) test" check this video m.czcams.com/video/mN-VpKsbwCA/video.html And this one m.czcams.com/video/g3FumjE5jcU/video.html So yeah one more thing about new and old injector seals, original sealing are from KACO and they sits prety tight in place so you need to press them rly hard to get them out and this new ones are from Elring (no offense to Elring the are one of the best out there) you can install them with one finger easy so i think without sealant they will leak very soon. And if you install original seals from KACO you should have no problem at all, in my opinion.
