Hi:) This time the video is a little longer than usual because the design is a bit larger than usual:) In the package from Nature Manufacture - Modular Castle & Dungeon I found a very nicely made tower and I thought it would be nice to use it. And this is how "Light Tower" was created, a design bordering on fantasy. The whole thing took me 4 hours and I hope you like the final result:) Have a nice week:)

      Try this way: -set the Layer of the object you want to exclude as, for example, "NoPost" - add Custom Pass to the scene( Right click in hierarchy window> Volume> Custom Pass) and set Injection Point as After Post Process - click "+" and add Draw Rederers Custom Passes - in filters, select the Layer that you assigned to this object - check Override Depth and select LessEqual Let me know if it worked :)

      Check if you have enlarged the box collider responsible for local volume. Also check priority to see if it has a different value than global volume. You use HDRP or URP, because in the camera's URP you need to enable post-processing display. Let me know if any of this helped:)

      From what I remember, only 5 lights are realtime here, 2 of them have additionally disabled shadows, and the next 2 (those on the sides of the caves have very low shadow resolution, all the rest of the lights are baked:)

    Great video! I'm just getting into lighting myself and I'm interested to know if there is a similar feature that can be applied to the ambient lighting within a volume. For example, if I want an entire to be completely dark as no light is leaking in. With the current setup, I could set the exposure to 0 but it doesn't apply until I walk into the volume, and the exterior ambient light is still showing on the interior elements. Is there a lighting feature that can affect those elements without having to be triggered by a box collider trigger?

      Don't worry about asking questions, I'm happy to help:) First, check what shader is used in the materials that are pink. If it is a standard Unity shader, then you can simply use the converter built into Unity to change the shader to one that works in your render pipeline. However, if it is a custom shader, check if the asset does not have a support pack that will replace the shaders with the appropriate ones. As a last resort, you can try using a shader from another pack for the material, because very often it can be done and everything works fine:)

      You probably clicked by accident and created a regular "render texture" and in this case it must be a "custom render texture" is slightly lower than the one you chose:)

    Hi! Thanks for the upload, fantastic. :) I copied it in about 50 hours, BUT... I got stuck... -Direction light has no "Intensity Multipler" in the emission ... not to mention "Affect Diffuse" and "Affect Specular". "Global Volume: FOG" : quality is the last one... after that there is nothing... there is no "Anisotropy" "Global Volume: VOLUMETRIC CLOUDS: no menu "Erosion Noise Typ- Perlin 32" Of course it was also a problem that I could only see the changes in the "GAME" window.... The "SCENE" window had a yellowish cloud and horrible lights at first... I have UNITY 2022.3.23f1 DX11 and I did it on that.. Free version not subscription... could this be a problem? Or are some settings in very wrong place? SCENE camera is alive with you, interesting with me.. If you have the time and means, please help me.       You simply don't have additional options displayed in Light/Fog ect:) Select Directional Light > Em ission Tab and click on the 3 dots icon and select "Show Additional Properties":) Do the same in Fog Volume:) Unity has a lot of useful options hidden in almost every component:)

      @@imogames77 Thank you for your kind words:) In the Package Manager, select Unity Registry > High Definition RP and there you have the Samples tab. Import Volumetric Samples and you will have those samples:) I can't wait, I always like to see other people's work inspired by my ideas:)

      @@HamasMahroof When it comes to free assets work in URP or Build-in: - Unity Terrain - URP Demo Scene (lots of grass models and some trees, works in URP but you can replace some shaders with ones that work in Build-in) - Conifers [BOTD] (trees work in both URP and Build-in) - Book Of The Dead (stones and cliffs work in build-in, you just need to change the shader to Standard) I also recommend: - The Toby Foliage Engine / Light (grass, trees, bushes, and shaders can be used in other vegetation models that do not support build-in) :)

      It all depends on what type they are. You can definitely give them as occludee and see if there is any change:)

    Thanks, very useful. Would be nice to have some tips for open world scenes optimalizations like a forest. Also, is it worth to mark the terrain as ocluder? Tons of foliage and trees killing my PC and gives 50~ fps. Even GPU instancing can't help me.

      With open worlds where there's a lot of vegetation, it can be challenging to achieve better FPS without some external solutions like Nature Renderer/Foliage Renderer. Unfortunately, Unity still struggles to handle large amounts of vegetation well. In HDRP, the terrain is set as an occluder by default, but it’s best to check how it affects your project. Also, take a look at my tutorial about grass, you might find something useful there to optimize your project. Just make sure to test it on a project copy, as changing things like detail resolution per patch can disrupt the placement of already distributed vegetation models:)

    Thanks for video. Great work. I wish more URP realistic content was released. Can you tell us why you prefer HDRP over URP? I think Unity will phase out HDRP in favor of URP.

      There will be another video with URP soon:) I prefer HDRP because it has many more features than URP, including volumetric effects, SS effect, much more override when it comes to post-processing, etc. Of course, all this at the cost of performance because let's not kid ourselves, HDRP was designed to create things only for High-end devices. URP has an advantage in optimization and will work without a problem on most devices. So it really depends on what kind of user we are aiming at. I wanted to get the most realistic environment in Unity and in URP it can be difficult, so that's why I chose HDRP. I think Unity will get rid of Build-in sooner than HDRP, because URP and HDRP are not similar, which cannot be said about URP and Build-in:)

    I am really impressed by ypur work and I am following you from last 1year and you made very tutorials that highlights common user mistakes. I have request if you got some time can you make tutorial on interior lighting and post processing like you have done in your research cave project like why you use spot light instead of area light etc. Thank you also for such creative videos

      Sorry i didn't notice your comment earlier. I will try to prepare something, but it is a difficult topic because outdoor lighting can be set using universal settings, the interiors lighting must be set completely differently and there are no universal settings for this. I already have a concept for a video in which I will talk about what to pay attention to when lighting interiors, but I still need to work out a few details:)

    Level design really cool. Just drop in also some good enviro artist and graphic programmer to fix water physics and add some nice dirt, mud visuals and particles cause water itself looks the worst. Anyway cool video

      I think it's more a matter of the fact that I used this asset for the first time, and there are a lot of changes in it compared to the 2019 version. So I think that over time I will be able to make the water look more realistic:)
