Welcome to our friendly corner of the internet! I am David and we are the Wee family from Minnesota and we are on a mission to improve the lives of autistic individuals and their families around the world.
Through our family vlog, we are not only portraying what living with autism looks like but also building a world where our special daughter and everyone else living with autism can experience a fulfilling life free of judgement and the effects of other people’s ignorance. We believe that hearts change when minds are informed, which is why we focus on sharing our lives in order to spread the message about autism and debunk common myths and stereotypes. We offer an authentic glimpse into the lives of a family with autism so we’re committed to inviting you in on good days, bad days and everything in-between.

This Cannot Happen
Imagine sunburn with sensory processing disorder and autism. We simply cannot let it happen.

Change Is Gonna Happen

Sensory changes are going to happen. A good reason why we should always at least consider trying things that have not worked in the past.

She Misses Her Friends
zhlédnutí 2,9KPřed 14 dny
We hear her cycle through her friends names multiple times a day. She is starting to add the word "today" with their names insinuating that she wants to see them now instead of later. Working on helping her understand that everyone can't be available at all times is not an easy task. Especially knowing how hard it is for her to make friends. #weefam #autism #friendship #autismparenting
We Feel Welcome Here

Having places to go out in public where you can have no worries of exclusion is so important for families like ours. Yes, we will try new places and activities without knowing how accommodating they are, but it is so nice when we don't have to think about that and we can just be. Note: Not sponsored. We were invited to this event but was not required to post a video. #weefam #familyvideo #disab...
Give Her A Little Time
zhlédnutí 4,8KPřed 28 dny
We are seeing her block out senses more this summer. When she stops and squints her eyes, we know she is working through some stuff. She just needs a little time. If you ever see someone stalling a line, give some grace. Our daughter is has not had a meltdown or sensory overload in 6 months. Whatever she is doing, whatever we are doing, it is working. Summer is commonly the toughest time of the...
Pay Attention To The Details

We have learned that time and space to work through transitions gives her the best opportunity for success. Simple words of encouragement and accomplishment make a difference. She is autistic with a high level of support needed along with sensory processing disorder among other disabilities. Strict Routine Can Lead To Rigidity
zhlédnutí 4,3KPřed měsícem
Sometimes we get into a routine of going to the same places and doing the same things. This can result in anxiety and other challenges for our daughter. Routines can be great, but rigidity can set in quickly. Note: Everyone is different. What works for us may not work for you. But maybe and helpfully, this info will help a family out there in the world. We are making our website better: www.wee...

Make sure to watch until the end of this one, I know it is a longer video so you may need to take a break and come back to it! There is a bunch of information packed into this video. I wanted to show you our public outing because maybe some of what we do will help other parents and autistic kids out there. I also wanted to show you an unedited version of what working through a tough transition ...

Why I Don't Show You A Morning Routine | Dinner With Friends
i love going outside. i was outside in the sun as well. did you guys have fun playing tennis ? :)
I am a fare skinned red headed autistic woman without intellectual disabilities diagnosed with four other disabilities outside of my autism. If I don't wear my Badger's Unscented Zinc Oxide sunscreen in my hair and scalp when it is sunny and hot outside, I will end up with my hair and scalp burning later in the day and I will complain how much it hurts afterwards because to me it feels like my hair and scalp are burning on fire. Aloe Vera is a very good remedy for skin that got sunburned.
I learn from your channel. I saw grandma. Tell her hello. More people should join your blog. I say a big Thank you to your family for sharing.
❤❤❤
That's cool!
I haven’t kept up with you guys in a couple of months, BECAUSE TIME FLIES, but I can’t believe how much more mature Braylee looks! She’s like a little lady now! When did this happen???
They grow up so fast!!!!! The time does fly by
Pickleball looks like tennis to me.
So glad you make every effort not to let B get a sunburn - I bet that would feel awful for someone whose sensory processing was off kilter, let alone all the effects sunburn has on anyone. Where I live, we are under an ozone hole and so the sun is much stronger. ‘Slip slop slap’ (slip into the shade, slop on the sunscreen, slap on a hat) was absolutely drilled into us when I was a kid 😊.
I love Braylee's hairstyle.
Hi guys!
blue lizard DID not for us ... we BOTH got burned and my daughter has autism and sensory processing disorder. I used solar cane on her burn as sun lotion but.. the blue lizard never helped.
🌸 Y'all enjoy what's left of the summer! Precious memories are being made. 💙💙💙
A case of be careful with the sun! Anybody can get burned, even someone with sensory processing disorder. (Just a quick note: I've never been sunburned despite not wearing sunscreen.)
Much love and support to you. I’m glad you’re keeping Braylee safe.🩵🩵🩵🩵
Blue lizard is the best!
I honestly never thought of how sunburn might affect sensory processing but that makes perfect sense once you say it. The sunscreen you use looks really good. It looked like a good day was had by all, glad your summer is going so well.
2:22 The Stranger Things reference 🤣🤣 5:31 Being Canadian, I've never seen that brand of sunscreen here, but I use something similar. A sunscreen stick by Garnier Ombrelle
I get/understand the look on your face. I see you, and I understand. Boy do I understand. Tiredness, patience, and love to keep going forward. To constantly "being there" for your child.
Thank you so much for this wonderful tip/life hack. Our daughter needs to start sleeping in her own bed. We were wondering how to keep an eye & ear out for her. Thank you 🙏🏾
I let my students go wild with sticky hands and other sticky toys/ objects. They threw them up on the ceiling of my classroom. We were able to get all but a toy sticky eyeball down. It was there for three years. I told each of the classes after that that’s how I can see what they are doing in the class even with my back turned! They all believed! I teach Prek . You have got to let something’s go! Good for you!
i am so glad braylee had fun seeing her friend kaitlyn
Im autistic and i refuse to have genetic testing done unless theres an actual reason like i start having symptoms of a genetic condition. but i talked to my doctor and he agrees its not necessary for me and my family as we pretty much know everything that runs in our family already, so its not going to tell us anything we already know. i would never want to be "treated" for being autistic. if there was a way to reduce my autistic traits i wouldnt take it. no way! i love being autistic and being who i am. That being said i do get regular blood work done and do my best to be healthy in a general sense but i dont want or need anything or anyone trying to change how my brain works. however im super proud of you braylee. your parents wanted this done, and although it sucks having blood taken, bright side you got to go out to eat after! so its worth it! <3 lots of love from Canada!
The testing isn’t just autism related stuff, more for being early prepared and watch for things like epilepsy for example. But yes, this testing is not meant to “treat” autism but more for understanding and being prepared for her future. We will always accept Braylee for who she is no matter the diagnosis. The overall goal is to provide supports and whatever it is that she needs to thrive in a world that still lacks awareness and acceptance.
@@TheWeeFamily i understand and even though its not for me personally if it benefits her thats what matters! i was just speaking to my experiences and thoughts. nothing against what your doing. :) as i said, braylee im so proud of you i know that wasnt easy!
Vinegar and baking soda works like a charm. I’ve done it before.
I'm from Texas
What is the strap called around lil miss B. ? Did it come with the service vest?

Peanut butter will get the slime off. Rub it on & leave it on for a few hours.
Try a Mr clean magic eraser on the ceiling..
I knew it had 2 be slime. My ceiling at 1 time also had slime stuck 2 it from youngest throwing it up & watching it stick. Luckily that was a few years ago & my kids are over slime!!
Today I've been dealing with adhd meltdown which are emotionally based and panic attacks and autism meltdown I have undiagnosed autism
Braylee is really talking so much! ❤ Oh, the drive-ins brought back memories. 😊 sweet dreams, Braylee. 🌙⭐️
Your such a wonderful family 🎉❤
For sure can always be cleaned up.
The dog was funny but i fill sad for the kid
Love your attitude!
Baking soda, vinegar, water. Try with just vinegar first.
🌸 💙💙💙🎇🎆🎇🥰🥰🥰
I love your family 😢😢
Hi wee fam 😂😂❤
My son does the same thing with throwing stuff on the ceiling. I try not to stress about it, because like you said there’s a lot worse things that could happen. 😊 Love your videos,
Have you tried hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol on the slime yet??
You are so right, there are far worse things to stress out over. I like the "slime on the ceiling is a sign of happiness" thought. It does put a whole new perspective on it.
I love fireworks too. The sound of them though--even with headphones, it's still absolutely horrible, in my opinion. Also, I wish I had more understanding parents like y'all.
Try goo gone for the ceiling
Braylee is so see❤
She's cute xxx
Have y'all seen inside out 2 i think braylee would like that
I really like watching your videos braylee is growing up to be an amazing person
