- Giving our daughter eyedrops is a challenge. She has autism and sensory processing disorder so it is definitely harder on her than it is on us. The key to it all is staying calm for her and making sure not to make the situation more stressful. Easier said than done, but it works.

Braylee is doing a great job of getting her eye drops. Feel better soon, Braylee.
Hello, I’m on the spectrum and always feared/hated eye drops. Parents would have to chase me around the house. Still to this day it’s adversive…
What helps me now is wiping the eye with a damp cloth, closing my eyes, lean back, dropping the eyedrops on the closed lid inner corner, and then counting 3,2,1 and then open the eyes, the eyedrops naturally settle into the eye… less traumatic and sensory issue for me this way.
Love the gentle way you guys handled it, hyped her up, and explained it to her plainly ❤
I'm autistic too, my parents did the same for me. They had me lay on the floor with my eyes closed, then they'd put the drops in and have me open my eyes. 😊 Saved us a few meltdowns.
Just a suggestion. But a great one If the dropper is above the eye it's visible and very hard not to feel weird and blink. I learned to gently open her eye lids, come from the side close, drop in,, and she won't mind it at all ❤
yay braylee. you did a good job getting your eye drops. i am so proud of you
Well done mum and dad for making the eye drops thing such a calm and positive experience. Hope Bee gets better soon.
If Braylee will let you pull down her lower lid, you can put the drop there. It doesn't need to hit her eye directly.
Braylee i know things like that are stressful but you did so good kiddo! I hope you enjoyed your noodles and company! Get that eye better quickly hon! See you guys in the next adventure! ❤😊
I worked in a daycare for 8 years, I've had pink eye so many times!! Lol When you work with toddlers, it just spreads like wildfire, once one of them has it.
One trick I learned when I was first learning to put eyedrops in myself (I now use eyedrops 5x a day & have no issues lol) was to rest your thumb (while holding the eyedrop bottle) on the bridge of your nose (in your case, it would be your forefinger on Braylee's nose), and squeeze. I used to premptively react like Braylee does, and this really helped me because, as the person receiving the drops, you can't see it coming. As the person giving the drops it also helps because it helps you aim
Eye drops are hard for me too because I have trouble opening my eyes wide enough
It’s not an easy task for sure.
Braylee did awesome getting her eye drops. Feel better soon. 💙
Artist ofthat song shes singing is ol "dirty bas*ard" featuring kelis "baby i got your money" 😉 she must have heard it on the radio super cute have a nice day and ty for the videos my Grandson is austic and your videos help me understand him💕
In 1975 Carole King recorded a bunch of songs for Maurice Sendak of “Were the Wild Things Are”. One of them is Chicken Soup with Rice. It's a cute song. Check it out!
I have heard another way to do eye drops is to have them close their eyes and then you put the drop in the corner of their eyes and open their eyes for them to get the drop in
Hope Braylees eye is back to normal in no time.
Braylee looks like she is doing well with her eye drops hope she gets better soon ❤❤
She is getting better and better with them.
I ALWAYS COMW BACK IM. A FAN SINCE MONTHS
Braylee super job🫶😉👍💖 dad is the one to show Braylee how to do the drops in the eye.🙃 but dad and mom you are great. That’s from my heart ♥️. I didn’t have autistic child but however that was the career I would have chosen it never worked that way. I have learned so much by watching bloggers like yours. Thank You so much.
I’m a adult and i can’t handle eye drops being put in my eyes I will do exactly what braylee is doing
Oh how I remember when my son had pink eye. He had the hardest time with those eye drops. He is 48 now and I'm not sure he has gotten any better with putting drops in his own eyes. I have to use eye drops multiple times during the day for glaucoma and dry eye syndrome and, fortunately, I don't have any trouble with them but I sure do understand how it can be a great cause of anxiety. I do hope she is doing much better and the rest of the family escaped it.
Get well Braylee
I hope Braylee eye feels better
she was not feelin' the eyedrops lol. watching seemed to help
My 3 year old grandson just had pinkeye and the doctor told my daughter to put the drops in her eyes and the baby’s. He also told her to disinfect all there toys and things he would touch so they didn’t get it too.
It’s so contagious!
I’ve been in your shoes my grandson is autistic had pink eye needed drops also understand the struggles
Descriptive words
🌸 💙💙💙 I agree with Judy 🙂
Braylee not feeling the eyedrops
❤❤❤prayers
I couldn't see but was she playing with her model magic while you were doing the drops?? Would that distract her enough to help??
If I remember she may have still had one of the magnet toys in her hand. Eye drops are such a big thing for her that it is really difficult to find something distracting.
Hello how are u all going been a while since I have watched a video I hope your are all doing will
Oh wow, i can see yall definitely need help with eye drops. 1st let her lay back on 1 of you so her heads back on your chest & that stabalizes her head, then qhomever does the drops dont hd ot up above her like that cuz shes looking directly into the drops & that aint gonna work. Lol Dont even show her the bottmes of drops & jus squirt them in the corner of her eye but unstead of it being held over her come up her cheek with it & a fast squirt in the corner. Or you do the force job i call it. Shes gonna get pissed but the drops will get in. Lay her down & get her arms by her sides & then straddlw her with her arms & body under you between your lags & basically you 1 handed or Stacy hold her head & squirt them in 5he corner of her eye. Irs soynds harsh but it has 2 be done & shell move on from it. No kid likes 2 cooperate with eye drops.. Sometimes you jus gotta get tuff in that parent roll cuz she cant jus have pink eye forever. Goodluck.
I have a 5 year old granddaughter with autism and she will not take her antibiotics when sick so they have to sneak them in her chocolate milk.
Aversion to foods and liquids are so tough when it comes to needed medications. It took us a really long time to get to where B will take meds without fighting it. Every kid is different and for Braylee we have to show her exactly what is going into her food if we are mixing something in. Years ago we tried mixing in things into her food and she always knew. We found that for her, we just need her trust. It took years to gain it but now she will take needed medication with just some hesitation.
