Sometimes the secondary sensor is hidden pretty well, mine went straight from the circuit board to the copper tubing just below the circuit board. The wire wasn’t visible at all until I accessed the circuit board. Thanks
How cold can a mini split get ? I’m looking to building a cooler to store gators in for processing.
Using a mini split to cool your space will allow you to maintain temperatures down to 34 F. This is assuming your room is insulated to at least R25 (appx 4" of insulation) and you have a correctly sized A/C. So, how cold and how long can you run that LG air conditioner without freezing the compressor? How low can the ambient outdoor temperature be to keep running that LG air conditioner continuously without damage to the LG AC unit? Awesome, by the way!
The compressor in the A/C doesn't actually run 24/7, it runs long enough to get your fully insulated space down to the temperature you set it to, (lowest is 34 with a insulated floor or 37 without) the compressor will then cycle off and the fan on the A/C will continue to run, circulating and keeping your area cool until the compressor is needed again. The CoolBot also allows the compressor to pause if/when the fins approach the freezing point, then asks it to resume cooling (if needed) once the fins are safely above freezing. So as long as you have used our A/C Compatibility List, along with our A/C Sizing Calculator and are insulated to R25 you shouldn't need to worry about icing. If you're using a window A/C with your CoolBot cooler, the A/C is OK being used when temperatures fall below the freezing point, but it will stop cooling when the outside temperatures hit ~32F, typical of most window A/C's. At that point, typically your cooler doesn't need cooling anyway, and instead needs a simple heater solution to keep the contents from freezing. what about control of humidity levels? Is this an off-the-self window AC unit? I've read they can keep at most 55-60% of humidity levels in those rooms. Flowers need more like 90% humidity, veggies and meat 85-90%.
Hi Chris, As long as you are using a A/C that is listed on our A/C Compatibility List on our website ( they are regular off the shelf A/C's but must meet a few conditions), and "and sized correctly per our A/C Calculator, in an airtight space insulated to R25, typically the humidity levels would be around 70-90%, but if you need more humidity for the cooler, we can talk about upsizing the A/C you need for your cooler or about installing humidifiers. Consulta, con el mismo aire acondicionado llega a esa temperatura ? Porque por diseño el aire no baja los zero grados centigrados, al llegar la evaporacion a 107 lbs el r 410, si lo exigimos a menor temperatura puede tener un golpe de liquido, cambian valvula de expansion ?

Un aire acondicionado normalmente no permite que se le programe a menos de 60F/18C, aunque es capaz de alcanzar temperaturas menores. Y ahí entra el CoolBot, que le manda al aire a enfriar más, pero siempre respetando la temperatura del evaporador, y haciendo que el compresor pause cuando la temperatura del evaporador se aproxima al punto de congelamiento. Eso impide que se forme escarcha por el evaporador y también evita el golpe de liquido del refrigerante. Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The CoolBot is a micro-controller that allows you to cool a well insulated room down to refrigeration temperatures. As you noted, an A/C can be set to a max or 60-57 degrees. However, when you set your A/C to it's lowest temperature setting, it's pumping out much colder air to reach that set temperature. With the CoolBot hooked up to your A/C, it becomes the controller, allowing you to set it for refrigeration temperatures. How does this cut in and cut out the temp control of the air con
Says R-25 but does not bother to say whether that’s for the insulation between the studs or the R-value of the entire wall assembly (including studs). So, recommendation is useless.

Is it just me or does the cool bot AC unit combo take too long to cool vegetables down to storage temperature when you are actively in and out of it every day multiple timea a day? Wouldn't a commercial walk-in cooler system have more effective cooling properties? I'm thinking like crops that need to be chilled pretty quickly like broccoli and greens in order to hold ideally..
I can turn my on in 90 plus heat, and within 15 minutes it will be in the lower 40’s. I have a 8by 10 cooler.

good ideal IF you want to knock your compressor out. Running at low temps on an ac unit will eventually send liquid to the piston....NOT GOOD!
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Compressors on modern AC units are now scroll compressors (for increased efficiency) and have built-in suction line accumulators. Scroll compressors don't have pistons and can handle potential "flooding" well - as opposed to their reciprocating counterparts that were previously used. This was already observed and reported (as a plus) when using modern window ACs for cooling purposes back in 2009 in the report done by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority on the CoolBot. Your video instructs to install two 2 inch thick insulation sheets and then 3/4 plywood for the floor and your video casually shows how to install the "coated" screws. However, I can't find the screws in your video that clears 4 and 3/4 inch floor. Where do I buy the 5.5 inch primeguard exterior screws shown in your video?

Where did you purchase the insulation.?I am having a problem finding the R25.
I'm not sure if this is something I need to do to my air conditioner or not. I would have spoken. I'm to the point that if you are not going to speak in a video, I am not going to bother watching it. Why people even bother making videos if they are too scared to speak, just don't.

Wrong. Insulate the ceiling BEFORE the walls, that way the walls hold up the edge of the ceiling. This is common knowledge on earth.
