I recently had the misfortune of engaging with Midnight Mom Devotional on Facebook, and the experience left me profoundly disturbed. After commenting on a post that stated, "Tonight we pray for a birth momma, who lovingly gave her baby for adoption," I was blocked for daring to speak the truth about the harsh realities of adoption. This incident revealed much about the book’s content and the troubling mindset behind it. First and foremost, Midnight Mom Devotional promotes a dangerously naive and misleading narrative about adoption. By focusing exclusively on praying for mothers to give up their children, the book completely disregards the profound trauma and lifelong emotional scars that such decisions inflict on both the mothers and the children. It presents adoption as an act of pure love and selflessness, which is a gross oversimplification that ignores the systemic coercion and deep grief often involved. This one-sided and sanitized portrayal is not just misleading; it is harmful and irresponsible. @midnightmomdevotional #adopteevoices #Adoption #Prayer #Motherhood #Abortion #falsenarrative #midnightmomdevotional medium.com/thoughtless-delineation/the-absurdity-of-praying-for-another-womens-child-fa510c7150f9

The stereotype of the overprotective/hypervigilant mother is exhausting and fairly useless, especially for mothers of special needs children. How about telling us what mental health professionals get wrong? Those mistakes are more egregious than the ones parents make. After all, we are laypeople not therapists. Please also consider including non-allistic voices in discussion of appropriate therapies. Exposure/behavioral therapies are rarely neurodivergent-affirming - and often they are autism-hostile - for a wide range of documented reasons.

I love her views on what children need, and I think her commentary about the importance of raising children with extended family and in religious communities is incredibly naive. Many of us have escaped abusive extended families and unhealthy churches.

I couldnt see the forest for the trees. I was reactionary. For some reason I was surprised at their sin! Which caused me to see them from a self-righteous perspective and made me react in anger. I was also surprised at how much they destroyed property, but i needed to value people over things and refrain from anger over broken stuff. I was also fearful over the whole area of internet and video games and felt like I was the only one saying no to things like MySpace. All this distorted thinking caused a lack of confidence, anger, and controlling behavior. Also, my 2nd born, a son, struggled with the birth of our 3rd born, a girl. I didn't move in and spend extra time with him, instead I reacted to his demands for negative attention. It turned into a coercive cycle (see Pattersons Coercive Theory) and we ended up in this negative cycle for 16 years. All because I didn't meet some basic needs of his and didnt know how to rebuild the relationship and break out of the cycle. I hope this helps you to help other parents. Mindset and not believing the lies of the enemy are so important. I needed a lot more love and a lot less fear and control.

As a father who has experienced the challenges and biases within the family court system firsthand, I am wholeheartedly in support of the Good Dad Act. This legislation is not just about fathers' rights; it is about creating a more equitable society that recognizes and values the essential role that fathers play in their children's lives. The Good Dad Act addresses the systemic flaws and biases that have perpetuated the marginalization of fathers within the family court system for far too long. It promotes shared parental responsibility, ensuring that children have the opportunity to maintain strong relationships with both parents. Every child deserves the love, guidance, and involvement of both their mother and father. The Good Dad Act will help level the playing field, empowering fathers to actively participate in their children's upbringing and decision-making. By supporting the Good Dad Act, we are advocating for a legal framework that is fair, just, and reflective of the realities of modern parenting. We are challenging stereotypes and working towards a future where children have equal access to the love and support of both parents, regardless of their gender. I urge everyone to join this movement and raise awareness about the importance of fathers' rights. Together, we can push for the passage of the Good Dad Act at both the state and federal levels, ensuring that fathers are granted the legal protections they deserve and that children can benefit from the active involvement of both parents. Let's create a society where every child can grow up with the love, care, and guidance of their devoted fathers. Together, we can make a difference. #SupportGoodDads #EqualParentingRights#gooddadact docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vQvSKX1gNVTRkHbMyelT20n4rgnLeKelG03Ecq7PT2lRSnjE0C1lociMO67vqkoJfiKlHHi-LCv7glT/pub

Expecting a child to calm themselves down without loving help from a trusted parent to help them reregulate is old-school parenting and not effective. Sending a child to time out to sit in shame to "figure it out" when they misbehave is not the way to help your child learn how to cooperate and manage their own behavior. It's a technique that teaches them nothing except compliance.

All the violent games available to all children are creating anti-social, unbalanced, depressed, aggressive kids… Parents need to take a stand! PROTECT the CHILDREN!

I think being a good dad starts with taking care of our selves. Good sleep , eating well, hydrating etc. May sound mundane. Or insignificant, but when you set yourself up to be at your optimum level by doing the small things , it makes the world of a difference. Also on my way home , After working 13hrs shifts. I mentally prepare myself / pray and try and relax . And get ready for the hurricane of putting kids to bed and encountering and tapped out wife 😂 It’s become a habit , but I’m still fine tuning it . But all started with you Dr.M , so thank you so very much
