    I picked up one of these last week, after putting a couple tanks through it on 12-20" birch/ poplar I'm really loving this saw. I've got a 28" bar and skip tooth on mine, mostly for ergonomic reasons and because I often wear snowshoes while cutting in the winter. A bit heavy for limbing, but real nice for bucking.

    I've been running a 365 xt for over a decade and its been a great saw. To me that looks like all the grunt of an XT, but with more snap. A local dealer currently has these on a pretty good sale and I'm thinking about picking one up. My current spare is a 345, but as a firewood saw its working pretty hard.

    I’m a 661 guy myself. Pickup my 261 very often too. It’s probably my most often used grab. The 261 is so dang light and just as powerful as I’d need for majority of my work. The 661 definitely puts a big smile on my face!

      i'll do a video with my 661 like this for you if you like. A lot heavier but i do enjoy using mine. i just wish i had bigger wood to run these saws in outside of work as my company doesn't allow the use of personal tools/equipment sadly. i love the 261 we have at work but i do find it lacking a little sometimes

      @@elemental4rce Unfortunate you can’t use your saws at work. I had an opportunity with a tree service some time ago and that was one of their things too, no personal saws. Never worked for them or anything but sure did make me feel a lot different about the position when they said that. I don’t use my saws professionally just yet. All personal use and I mainly freehand slab Black walnut, Eastern Red Cedar, Maples, Oaks, and Box Elder. I want to be a business owner. Offering lumber milling, drying, storage, and sawyer services. My chainsaws were my step one. I’m currently getting on a business name with the Secretary of State. Haven’t made any serious legal steps yet but it’s right around the corner.

    • @elemental4rce
      @elemental4rce Před 5 měsíci

      no but it is very heavy and often incredibly twisted grain. Apparently in they used to use it for early brake pads on carriages as it was so hard wearing. Brilliant burning wood once the fires hot enough, lasts for ages and puts out great heat.
