I love that they are making the i6 hurricane powerful as a "replacement" for the hemi. However, I wish they made a naturally aspirated version so it's not as stressed as the turbo charged hurricanes, an NA version would likely last so much longer and be more reliable. Really helping transition guys like myself who want something that's still going to last and feel more "mechanical" especially if they put in a manual trans to couple with it.

I'm in the minority here probably, but the new Cadillac sedan doesn't look all that expensive and is hideous. It looks like a 50k car that was stretched out.

I maintain that the future of EV's lies in electrified roadways. EV's that primarily get their power from a rail or cable imbedded in the road. City streets and highways would be prioritized to become powered first, with the idea being that you can drive around most of the time on "road power" and if you ever venture out of town to more rural areas a small battery backup or ice engine kicks in. You would have ZERO range anxiety around town or on highways, because the road is the gas. You would only ever get range anxiety when you went "off grid" and your battery backup or ICE kicks in. This is more efficient than lugging around a big battery that you fully rely on all the time, and still reduces dependency on gas even in models equipped with a backup ICE. Cars equipped with said technology would track you power usage, and you'd basically have another electricity bill every month.

I be real, I get the EV stuff, but go hard on hybrids first, really get that down before full EV. I would prefer a diesel/EV hybrid, but US market is not a diesel friendly one. Also, glad they recognize it, corporate greed, no company is consumer friendly.

Offy! Thanks so much for covering this! I would argue the decline of the Offy's started with the Chevy twins, which were two Chevy small block powered sprint cars in 1960 that dominated the competition in USAC sprint cars that year. Sprint cars today basically run a similar engine design. They were driven by Jim Hurtibise and Parnelli Jones, who just passed away today as I write this. RIP

Favorite Smokey story- it’s Indy, teams are trying to make the field. The Japs are trying to get a car in the field but they weren’t quick enough. Smokey was there with his own car. Smokey was in the pits. Smokey walks over to the Jap team pits. He thought they had some interesting ideas & Smokey asked if he could look at the engine. The Japs said no engine is very secret. Smokey replied “what the hell is so secret about an engine that won’t qualify ?”
