Every edition has a learning curve. I've been through that learning curve for 3 editions. I'm one of a large number of people who, having been through that learning curve don't want to do it again. Therefore I play 2nd. Sometimes 1st, but 2nd is fun, others who play 2nd have been playing it for just as long as me and are in it for the fun. I casually play second about once every 3 months. Haven't ever touched anything beyond 3rd.

Urgh... I've said similar before. Your videos are my meditation. You're such a warm person. I really appreciate your perspective whenever you've shared it. While I couldn't do anything while I had a broken hand. Your videos really helped keep me mentally level. I really appreciate your input and part you contribute to my life. Thank you

My only comment on Female Custodes was their intro was lazy; throwing one line in a codex. As for "There always have been" the majority of that drama could have been avoided by saying "Over hundreds of years, female recruits were added." Done. -I've thrown that comment a few places online, the average hobbyist has said that's a better intro; anyone leaning more one way or the other on the issue has called me names I've had to look up online, lol.

$60! You are joking right? Thats like 3kg or resin. Printer goes brrrrr.... When I got back into painting when Covid hit us all, remember that? Everyone off work except us people keeping the world ticking over and not being able to go to hobby shops. Well I got a printer so I could have things to paint and never looked back. Anyway off to print some non-binary female custodes taking the knee, just because I know its gonna annoy some bigots somewhere.

The custodes miniatures are nice. I'm still kinda stuck in the mindset that the custodes are a nice background unit but don't make sense as a playable army, being that they should be staying on terra? But yeah.

I completely agree, painting is meditative and good for the soul. I was off work last year for 5 months with stress and one of the things that helped me recover was sitting at the painting table. It’s a key part of my mental health routine!

This guy had enough hair to make his own paint brushes. LOL JUST KIDDING! I wish I could grow my hair out like that. It hits my ears, and I can’t stand it.

I stopped playing Warhammer 40k two editions ago. I just do not have the time to keep learning new books and rules, and the direction the game goes seems to get more competitive and and unfriendly as time goes on. I play Battletech instead and just paint 40k models for fun.

I think the reason for a lot of the rage over these things is people are sick of the pandering. people don't mind different sexes, races in movies, games, minis but people get invested into a word. if you can just destroy everything to do with the world just for some diversity points. What people really want is more new creations that doesn't need to twist and destroy what was so loved and well put together.

My take away is that all the products use the same reaction, so to speak. Otoh, I would like to see why this stuff sticks to other elements-the whole reason for it.

"What's the point of a retcon if there are no new minis." This is exactly the point that your average person is making about GW, but terminally online people jump right to hate speech. A little late to to this video, but everything you have mentioned moved me to Infinity N4. Low model count and the weapons are the same no matter what army is carrying them. There are a lot of rules, but they seem more streamlined to me. And ...Rules are free.

regarding your last complaint about hiding behind cover, i think in one of the early 40k editions the sequence used to be move, move, shoot, shoot, assault assault rather than one player doing everything and then the other player doing everything. or maybe it was from gw's lotr that i also used to play some geez 20 yrs ago. that old mechanic made it matter less who got turn 1 and allowed for more cinematic battle lines facing each other off. and up until 7th edition the player who took losses determined which models he took off his unit, rather than the ones closest to the foe that fired. So you didnt have to hide your special weapons guys at the very back.

This is the way I've felt since first being introduced to the game in 2001. I liked the concept. But there's no way I'm spending money on over priced books, over priced models, over priced paints, and on a company that does not care in the least to improve.

Explain molecules, show what typical molecules look like, and then, show them a plastic bag. "Yep, this entire thing is one giant molecule!" Also, on the same subject, though I think this deserves its own video, if not SERIES - Concrete! How surprising, unintuitive and beguiling is the fact that wet concrete weighs the same as cured concrete. Water just becomes part of it! Perhaps even toy with the idea that those Mayan castle walls were stacked with rocks shaped like puzzle pieces that were not carved but poured?

I am an engineer and a polymath, and I know a lot, except chemistry. I don't know what it is... It just doesn't make any sense to me... :( I would have loved to think about matter, and, in the words of Walter White - CHANGE, the way I can think about computer code.

I think 110% might have been the sweet spot for the heads instead of 120%.
