- We played a game in a film studio and the robotic camera arm got some NICE shots. This is the "goodfellas" shot of wargaming. Camerawork and editing by Cinecore Media.
This is a hype video for an over-the-top exhibition game of Grimdark Future sponsored by One Page Rules and Monument Hobbies. OPR is in charge of the game and the minis, and MH is in charge of the paint. :-)

Where can i find the whole video/battle report?
That camera rig movement is so clean that it makes the footage seem like a render. Even though I know its real physical objects
right?? I still see a few microjitters in there that vex me, but overall this is pretty dang cool :-)
I came here to say this! I was SURE I was watching a 3D rendering of a tabletop until the behind the scenes footage hit. Wowza. That looks shockingly good!
@@GoobertownHobbies looks fantastic!! But yea, i also have a little bit the feeling that there could be sone more frames for the perfect smoothness.
But overall, fantastic material!!!
Read this comment and my first reaction was "Pfft, come on." Then I watched the video.... and you're totally right, haha.
The most impressive part about this is how its all in focus during a continuous shot!
Robots these days, I tell ya! 🤖
@@GoobertownHobbies I smell Judgement Day coming...
High enough F-stop and enough light and you can just leave a manual lens "somewhere in the middle" in terms of focus distance. Though I see the follow focus system on that manual probe lens, it didn't have to be used too much
From what I can see it's laowa probe lens that is f14 so it's hard not go get in focus
If I didn’t know better, I would say those were 3d rendered models. You and the other painters did an AMAZING JOB!
If I was GW I would just hire these people because this clip is the best clip in table top gaming.
That probe lens tho. So good
If that ain't the most amazing thing out there, i don't know what is...
This is so cool, the smoothness actually messes my perception, since nothing viewed in nature is that smooth so makes it feel unreal. 9/10 only lost points for no close-up of that trex in the back ;)
Yeah ok, the titles not clickbait. I've been wanting to see this since you first mentioned on paint bravely but actually seeing it is way cooler.
With the amazing paint jobs, these minis look like they are computer game assets. 😄
hehehehe, it's all so silly! :-)
You can feel nice when models from the clip, I'm just finishing printing myself (deamon warrior's). I feel like a small brick in this epic project, supporting OPR on patreon for a year, I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Great collaboration! Regards.
nice!!! have fun with them daemons :-)
Wow, I literally held my breath watching that.
Siiiiiick. Imagine if you could write a program that could detect the placement, removal, and orientation of figures and generate a a semi automatic battle report / video.
This is the type of technological art that gives nerds purpose.
hehehe, someday, someday :-)
OH! SO GOOD! I'm gobsmacked at those movements, SO CLEAN! Epic music put it over the top! BRAVO!
When will that video actually come out? I'm kind of looking forward 🙂
Still waiting wtf
@@skylarsmith1220 no it came out by now
This ist crazy! Can't wait for the Battle Report
I'm so excited for the finished product.
Wow. This is really cool. The lens is the small pipe. Interesting.
I normally dont care about battle reports, and there are very few that I actually enjoyed... But that looks amazing, cant wait to see it!
I am in awe.
It is so smooth it almost doesn’t seem real - like it cgi or something. But the fact that it is real blows my mind!
Looking forward to it Brett!
If only this kind of entertainment was broadcasted on espn. Pure art and technical know how!
I love how the white looks in the saurios!
thanks! :-)
That shot is so siiiiiiiiick. Cannot wait to see this battle report.
Thanks for the video! Impressive!
Super excited for this project!
well,now I'm hyped
Extraordinary, children, just extraordinary. Musically, I would turn those back strings up just a notch.
That looks so fun.
Now this is tight
Now let’s see it in a fast battle report
Looks awesome, Great Job!!
That looks so surreal
Holy crap... This is so precise its looks digital!
I. Cannot. Wait!
That was sick!!! Nice
Very cool. The transition from model eye view up to directly overhead is great for battle reports - get into the action but then get the map-style perspective on how many inches/intervening terrain is between models. Reminds me of the tennis hawkeye system.
VEEERY COOL ! You also accidentally unlocked a new way to knock models of a table:
With the strenght and care of a Terminator
hahahaha, we were careful, but we did bonk one of the terrain pieces :-)
I love how this isn't even clickbait
hehehe, right? :-)
Looks like a heck of a lot of work! 😯
But the result is exceptional. Never seen anything like it.
Well, THAT'S pretty keen! I can't wait to see the battle report!
I never watched battle reports because they aren't really tickling my fancy.
But I'll definetly watch this one. Can't wait!
I am so hyped for this project, this is the future of high-end BRs
Wow. Incredible is all I have to say. This is easily the coolest shot I've seen in months. Amazing work
feel so good
Any update on when this video will be available?
Fantastic work. You'd think it was a render with how smooth it moves!
pretty nifty, eh? :-)
This is so sleek
wow! Makes me just more hyped on the event
It wouldve looked even better if the movement of the roboter is programmed in circular sections. I don't know the robot they used but in UR-Robots programming it's called "MoveP". The flow of the movements is way better and doesn't feel like "I jump from Point-A to Point-B". I promise you will love it if you try it next time (hope there is a next time).
Oooph, I'm gonna need a bigger screen and my good speakers for this one! Hold on!
Will battle reports have just been kicked up a notch haha, thanks guys!
Awesome. Cant wait for the report. And hopefully, there will be a behind the scenes docu as well :)
Wow, that's stunning. Great focus all the time, perfect movement!
robots these days, I tell ya! :-)
Can't wait!
Those space lizards look amazeballs! Wish we could buy them off the shelf. 😢👍
That is truly incredible! Next level stuff.
That's amazing! Looking forward to the battle report!
Looking Really Good ✌️💚
This looks awesome! 🔥
Very Nice!! Good job!!
Super cool
hype!
Man this is cool. I can’t wait for the full meal deal as it were! I’m super excited to see this. Fantastic paint jobs on the models too! Also, I love seeing Brent skulk off with the “clacker” that records takes at the beginning. That was hilarious. 😂
that clacker is fun! :-)
freakin wicked!
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Pretty sweet robo-arm action! You have got an eye for mini’s that’s for sure! Thank you for sharing this sweet lil look into the future of gaming.
That's smooooooth... Like others have said, my eyes say these are real minis, but my mind keeps telling me I'm looking at a digital render.
i really love the OPR sets and love goobertown is doing something with them
WHEN! When can we finally see this hyped battle report!
we must increase the hype more, MORE!!! :-)
Can I ask where is the battle report? I haven't been able to find it yet...
Holy crap this was amazing
If I didn't know how you guys did this - I would swear that was a render! AMAZING!!!!!!!
Insanity!
Whooohoho Sweet!
This is absolutely ridiculous! So awesome!
So cool
So cool , only missing the Fx. Hope you add them on the reports.
I honestly can't wait for this, it looks frigging insane !!!
Really cool
So freaking cool!
Can't come soon enough !
Yeeehaaa, dem lizards look ready to take on the demon horde!
Its pretty wild how far we have come in such a short time. 35 years ago when rogue trader came out that robot arm would be $1 mill+, only auto manufacturers would have access to it and it wouldn't even be as good.
the future isn't all bad! :-)
This is super dope I just wish there was some easing on the end of each movement.
When will we see the completed battle report move?
Love it !!!
So smooth, it looks like a 3D render!
Pretty cool eh? :-)
Hey Brent, I’m just wondering if there is any news on when this is going to drop?
F*cking awesome!! :D
Only one robot arm, but hey, that’s all you need!
I knew it! We used this robots all the time wrong at work.
This is sooooo sick!! Man, i wish this becomes a staple in Battle Reports, but i´m not delusional of course haha! Awesome work from everyone involved!
You made me print a Saurian Army, Brent! These models and your paintjob inspired me hahaha
very nice!! have fun with them saurians :-)
@@GoobertownHobbies i'm having a blast, thank you :D cannot wait for the full battle report
did i miss the release of the BatRap? iv been so excited for it.
I'm so hyped to see this, ever since I first heard about it all those months ago on Paint Bravely. I thought for sure when we zoomed in on the demon vehicle that the little flag bearer was going to get slapped though, glad to see he was unharmed!
we only bonked a terrain piece once :-)
Wow!
Sweet video, Brent
I know its to show off their camera work and tracking but needs narration to give it context.
Still loving the project though
Keep up the good work 👍
Yea, based on camera motion alone I would have said 90% sure CGI on my first run through. So hard to do that it's so rare to see outside of renders and Hollywood (and high budget commercials...holy crap filming commercials is nuts).
Very cool! The ambient smoke probably adds a lot to the sense of depth that you wouldn't even know you were getting without the wide shot making it obvious.
