CMX Fun Check 2025
2025 CMX “FUN CHECK”
SPRING ORDER PROGRAM
www.crazymtn.com
PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA!
Thank you to all CMX customers, new and repeat!
Even with a very low snow season and a very poor economy, we built and sold the most kits we ever have! We think the reason for this is the fact that the news about “the fun factor” of the CMX is spreading through the market. As our friends from the north have said “all of the kits are capable, but the CMX is just Crazy playful”! This is what increases your fun factor with your riding experience. We will be increasing production numbers again for the coming season.
As always, we continue to make design changes to the CMX. This season, some of the changes include: Re-designed (shortened) side plates and re-designed tunnels, with braces to match the side plates. We have also lightened up the brake discs by 1/3rd, which means less rotating weight. There are numerous other changes that we have made, that we will discuss in future posts. All the changes that we made will only enhance the performance and reliability of the CMX.
SMALL MANUFACTURER’S SHARING TECHNOLOGY!
MTN Top has offered (and we accepted) the use of their 126” X 3 ¼” lug, narrow rail spacing Track. We have re-designed our current rear suspension with the narrow rail spacing to accommodate the MTN Top Track. We are very happy that we can use the proven performance of the current geometry of the CMX rear suspension. This configuration will only be available during the “FUN CHECK” pre-season order process.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! Let’s Ride!
4/2/24 Cooke City MTN Top Track Verification Ride:
The results of our track verification and comparison ride are as follows:
We had surprisingly good conditions to do our track testing in Cooke City last Tuesday 4/2/24. We had rough trail and tracked up snow until we got to the high country. There, we found a nice untouched hill with about a foot of powder and a great base. We did side by side comparison runs with our CMX 129 Track and the MTN Top 3 ¼”. The MTN Top 3 ¼ was the clear winner (see video showing the run). The MTN Top track is amazing. We did not find any negatives to the 3 ¼ track. There could be some, but we sure did not find any. Thank you, Allen Mangum, for the great development on this track and for making it available to CMX to offer as an option to our customers.
Remember…if you want the CMX with the MTN Top 3 ¼ narrow rail spacing track, you have to FUN CHECK - PRE-SEASON order it. FUN CHECK ends 4/30/24 Please call to order 406-686-4921
At this point, we are not offering a kit to install this track on existing CMX kits.

After 4 years of riding with our crew and often struggling to pull our lines, Shane finally sold his 300 and is now on a GasGas 450. We are all very happy about this, but he was still missing the CMX riding experience. So we put a 2023 CMX kit on his bike so he could "see what the hype is". This hero snow day was a great opportunity to compare the CMX on his own bike after riding a Yeti 129 for...

Rolling with legends: Geoff Kyle and Cody Matechuk. It hadn't snowed in a week, so we headed deeper inland where the older snow was still preserved. 1/27/22: After another coastal pineapple followed by a long dry period , we finally received a small reset in the Whistler backcountry. In search of some long awaited airtime, Malcolm and the squad headed up the Pemberton Icefield. Firm, wind affected snow was not ideal for jumping but the Rutherford gas drop worked out well with it's reasonable landing angle.

After a massive atmospheric event dumped heavy amounts of snow, we had a warming cycle suck down the base followed by about a 30 cm reset. What size track do you ride? Maybe you are in the process of deciding what length to go with. In this video I'm on a 120" CMX snow bike kit on a stock KTM xcf450. While short tracks are generally capable of higher track speed and make easier handling snow bikes, they do have less traction and flotation than the maybe more popular 129 or 137 options. Riding a 120 requires way more rider input an...

Riding snowbikes with sledders can be fun…if you pick the right sledder. Last week a bro I used to ride sleds with back in the day posted an invite for “a day of adventure in a new zone.” Our bike crew was all busy with other things that day so I responded with a comment “Does this adventure involve traversing steep woods?" Felix from Revolution PowerSports in Whistler answered back “sure does”...

      The CMX 129 is another option with inherently more ski pressure than the 120. We’ve all moved on from the 129’s though. The 120’s are way too much fun!

    I think with the way sleds have devloped in the last ten years, this bike/sled ride day is allot mor possible. Both riders seem experienced, but neither is doing outragous moves. I am a two wheeled guy through and through, but when it comes to snow, I still prefer two skis. I think it goes to show how far sledsand riders have come for tree riding. If this was a first gen timbersled versus an old Polaris pro, I think the sled would have worked way harder tjust to be left behind. This vid goes to prove, in my old age I am sticking to two skis and watching you young bucks do this silly stuff. All in all, full respect to both riders. keep up the great vids!

    Years ago I had a Summit X which I had a blast on but these look so much more fun. The only thing I can say I wished they fix on both of them is the noise levels, I’m not one of these people that enjoyed them when I had one then try and stop everyone else as I get older. I’m also a very avid snowboarder and enjoy the tranquility of a bluebird fresh dump day, with the birds flying around and the occasional “WhooHoo”. The other day I seen a company that makes smaller versions of snow bikes and one of them is electric, but I’m not an electric vehicle believer. What’s the run time in those cold conditions, two years from now is the company going to be closed and no replacement batteries available

  • @VernonSnowMX
    @VernonSnowMX Před 2 lety

    So, I was thinking about this today while riding a bunch of steep stuff. CMX and TS Riot both talk about the ski being light. How does that work with you suddenly hit a short steep bit that you need to pull, and not loop out of?

    • @coastmountainsnowmx5923
      @coastmountainsnowmx5923 Před 2 lety

      Great question. A kit with a “planted ski” has an advantage in the scenario you’re describing where it’s Easier to make a last second decision when you have no momentum to pull that steep line. Wilder riding kits like the CMX require more terrain foresight and throttle control in the steep woods. But once you adjust your riding technique you may find the advantages of a light ski for technical terrain riding. I find myself steering more with the track, which for me has become an easier way to navigate gnarlier zones. CMX kits make very different Snowbikes than what most riders are used to. I never insist that it’s a “better” option because different riders want different things. Seems like much of the market prefers a planted ski / pow tractor. Nothing wrong with that at all. This is why I believe demos are so important.

Oh and by the way all of my previous experience was on street bikes so you could imagine how fun it’s been learning this thing at my age, can’t wait to get it in the snow though.

    • @coastmountainsnowmx5923
      @coastmountainsnowmx5923 Před 2 lety

      I'd be more excited than worried if I were you! The great thing about 120 kits is you can hold third, sometimes 4th gear when climbing. So much more fun than "tractoring around" in 2nd...(IMO). Doesn't take too long to get the hang of making track speed banging gears... while you have the handling advantage of a shorter bike. Easier riding in the woods, where snowbikes really shine.
