Building & Riding all of Berm Peak (Compilation)
This summer I want to change up the mountain bike trails and map at Berm Peak, so let's start with a refresher of what we have done here so far. This compilation includes the finishing touches on all the features, followed by the tests we did to confirm they were rideable. Enjoy!

Random Mountain Bike Questions Quiz
zhlédnutí 125KPřed 14 dny
Bikes can be complicated machines. They have tons of moving parts, constantly changing “standards,” and plenty of different words for what is sometimes the same thing. This week, we wanted to do something a little bit different and put together a quiz to allow everyone to test their knowledge. Challenge yourself and challenge your friends-take score and let us know how you fared in the comments...
Testing the Cheapest Bike Tools on AliExpress - Part One
zhlédnutí 339KPřed 21 dnem
In a perfect world, everyone should own high-quality bicycle tools. However, in the real world, a broke college student needing to replace their cassette doesn’t always have the means to pay a bike shop. Thus, the $3 cassette tool enters the scene. We know that anything of good quality carries a premium and, at a point, a diminishing return, especially depending on the volume of use it gets. To...
How the Bike Industry Takes Bike Photos
zhlédnutí 205KPřed měsícem
Have you ever wondered why photos of bikes you see on a website or in a magazine look so damn good? Is it the camera? Is it the fact that it’s a professional athlete’s finely tuned race bike, or is it simply brand new? Maybe it was photographed in a studio? Photoshopped? Maybe…While it surely could and very well may be one or a combination of several of those factors, in reality, it’s usually m...
The Rise and Fall (and Rise Again) of Cannondale's HeadShok

In the 1990's, the HeadShok was one of the smoothest suspension forks out there, but eventually certain limitations forced Cannondale to rethink their design. What came next was the one legged 'Lefty' fork, which used technology from the HeadShok and lives on to this day. Both are extremely smooth, and had/have a cult following. The Genius of Narrow Wide Chainrings - Why they work!
zhlédnutí 676KPřed 2 měsíci
The 'narrow-wide' chainring is a drive gear for a bicycle that features an alternating tooth profile. This is to say, one tooth is wide, and the next is narrow just like a bicycle chain. Today we'll watch slow motion footage demonstrating why these gears are so effective at keeping your chain on. Eric @BCpov mentioned on our Substack how Ghel patented a very similar gear back in 1978 for heavy ...

Hey seth! I'm dan and 14. I have a Cannondale Scalpel Si2 2016 lefty bike. And i'm looking for new suspension since the front rebound gave up and too expensive to repair and my rear shock is completly fine but i really don't like the fact i have to send it to someone to bleed my xloc sprint shock lock thing which is also, expensive. I hope you will see this comment and reach back to me. Thank you!

Derailleur hangers is the biggest scam ever and the fact that there’s a 1000 different ones makes it worse. With modern headsets one needs parts to adjust handlebars. Sometimes technology just isn’t progress.

I remember once when I was at a bike park I had just launched into the path and for whatever reason my pants were stuck on my seat. I tried to undo it and when I thought I did I kept riding but that had made me panic and when I was about to get to a dropdown my bike got caught on something and flung me head first into the ground. I got away with a broken elbow and a torn muscle in my arm but that's better than a head injury

You guys are so lucky to have proper bikes. In my village in Africa we are so poor we built bikes out of animal dung mixed with dried insect saliva. I covered it with paint and sprayed with air freshener so the village children could ride it and be happy and free.

I’ll let you in on an industry secret, I have experience assembling a lot of bikes at Walmart and many other places. The more expensive the bike the more fucked up it is from the factory. At Walmart for example let’s look at the Ozark trail ridge, it comes half assembled, and the half that does come preassembled like the handlebars are completely asked backwards from the factory, even having the stem put on backwards, ozark and Kent are two of the worst offenders for sending Walmart wrongly assembled bikes. It is up to the assembly guy to Unfuck their mistakes and reassemble the whole bike correctly. The problem is Walmart pushes for production, and there is a general lack of knowledge in bike assemblers as Walmart does not care about the quality of the assembly just the quantity.

Rather than weigh the wheels why not just weigh the spokes? Would it not of been more scientific to just weigh 32 spokes from both wheels and taken the hub and rim out of the equation?

I just found your channel today after deciding that I want to start biking some of the local walking trails as an alternative activity for when I don't want to go to the gym and to satisfy my desire to drive a motorcycle (since my wife won't let me buy one). I have watched several of your videos today and they all make me really excited to get on a bike and get going. I will fix up the cheap Walmart bike I used to get around in college and take it to some of the easier trails around here that won't be too hard on it and then I'll get a better bike and do some serious exploration of some of the trails at the local state parks!

Thanks I love bike repairs. Actually, I repair all my Bikes and some of my friends and family all by myself for years now, cause I overthrow with my local bikeshop. He didnt want to repair my hardtail called it a piece of junk etc etc... Thats how I learned fixing my bikes. But what I wanted to tell. A few years ago I restored an old racebike from the 70s and saved it from the junkyard. It has a gel saddle at that time. I agree that most of them are junk but I took the challenge that time to improve the old one by replacing the old cloth with goatleather and it worked perfectly, now the saddle is smooth and watertight. Rides very well. Just to save the name of gelsaddles. Like your vids.
