Registrace 14. 08. 2016
Jadus is a Swedish company founded in 2015 specialising in aftermarket motorcycle parts and accessories. We wish to provide customers with a range of parts that are specifically designed for each individual motorcycle model. We are starting out with a selection of parts for the Yamaha SR250, but wish to expand to many more models in the near future. We design all parts ourselves and work through the entire design process from sketching to 3D models, to prototypes and testing through to final technical drawings and procurement. We collaborate with trusted suppliers and use high quality materials with tight quality control standards. At Jadus we love design and engineering, but above all, we love to build and ride custom motorcycles!

Join us for the first start of the #100mphsr250 ! Spoiler alert, this was a bit of a fail. The engine is now teared down and handed in to a machinist for oringing. Before tearing down the engine, the bike was ridden up and down the street and it showed a lot of potential - it pulls more like a 500 despite the leaking gasket. However with this extra power, the clutch slips like crazy, despite fr...

can it damage the engine overtime? reduce its lifespan in anyway? theoretically the engine wasn't made to support a higher power, right? like harleys are "tanks" downgraded from factory, they are known to support it...
Question is the front fork from another motorcycle?
I had to warm the baffles with a blowtorch before getting them loose. Great video.
Where is your battery. My son's 185 is right below the air filter. It's only a 150 CCA and after a few starts( he is learning to ride) I have to charge it. Yes it is a new battery. I m thinking if I modified the Air filter like you have and modify the battery box we might be able to get a bigger battery in. Thoughts?
where is the battery?

hello, i have a question, ive set my valve clearance to the middle figure on the feeler guadge but my tappets are still very noisy, would it do the bike any harm to set it on the lower side of the clearance range instead of the middle?

Great video! If I want to debaffle mine, do I need to modify anything else on the bike besides just removing the baffles? Like is there a risk of anything breaking with this mod?

work done today. thanks to your instructions. it was hard to remove them but in the end the sound is spectacular. Is it necessary to regulate the carburetion?
Hi! Great you managed to remove them. You will most likely not need to adjust your main jets but you should definitely adjust your air/fuel screw setting to allow more fuel at low rpms. It should be adjusted to between 3-4 turns out.
Hi I've just bought a 535 already fitted with drag pipes will this kit have suitable jets ? Thanks and great easy to follow video 😊
Yes, the kit comes with a range of jets that suit several different exhaust set ups, including straight pipes :)
When I start my bike it immediately revs to like 10k, can that also be a vacuum leak?
Could be. If so, it would be quite a sever one!
With a debaffled exhaust do i need to rejet the carburetors or can i leave the bike as it is? I don't understand if it's dangerous for the bike or not...
If you have the stock intake, you most likely will not need to adjust the main jets. But you should definitely adjust the air/fuel screw so that it is between 3-4 turns out. This is so you allow more fuel to flow at lower rpms. If you have a modified intake you should adjust the main jets as well.
I have one rewired.... But now in disarray, no spark. Must change the black ignition electronic box. I left it sitting idle, because driving ISUZU D-MAX is so much safer in Thailland's crazy scary traffic conditions.
Hi, To my experience and understanding, you don't have to remove the top ring, it's only to reinforce the diaphragm from sliding off from above, you can rotate the ring easily, and it's not holding on to rubber. Only the bottom plastic ring is holding tight to the diaphragm. Instead of sliding the diaphragm from the top, you can slide it gently from the bottom holding slide upside down and bring it to its original top position. One thing I am confused about is the bottom plastic ring. I think it has an important role since it works as a spacer for inner side of the slide seat probably to stop gas leakage coming in contact with a diaphragm. What do you think?
@mcrand7887 Thanks for your concern, but in this case, the plastic parts need to be removed to be able to install this particular replacement diaphragm. There are other kits that have different designs, but we do not have any experience with them. We have the same response to your inquiry about the lower plastic ring. And you are incorrect on your third assumption about the lower ring needing to be there to form a seal and to keep fuel away from the diaphragm. This replacement becomes the new seal and maintains the original dimensions of the original diaphragm, just with one part instead of a three part design. The rubber of these diaphragms is also extremely durable and tolerant of fuel, so if they get fuel on them it is not a concern at all. All the best!
Can’t tell you how much I appreciate these videos, Jake, you a f***ing legend!
Thanks for the tips Jake
I found a 1998 sr250 classic for 1000 euro, it has brake disk up front, would it be a good bike for a begginer?
Yes ☺
My ninja 300 has a whine and it starts whining as soon as I start it but is MUCH more noticeable when it’s warmed up and it gets really annoying. My 1st and 2nd gear seem a little bit slower but I haven’t stalled in 1st while at a light yet. It’s a very annoying whine that gets louder around 20kph It could be my garbage fairings that won’t connect properly, I’ll try some tape on those to stop wind from getting in but if it’s not that then I’d love some thoughts on what it may be as I have no experience with working on my bike solo and don’t know what to look for.
Great video! Do you know if you can lace any 36 spoke rim to a 36 spoke hub. I have an XL 250 rim which is 18” 36 spoke I am wondering if the Jadus 18” upgrade spoke set would work with that rim.
Hi Jo, most likely not. Most hubs have different spoke hole spacing's and diameters so the spoke lengths would be different.

My friend had one of those. He and his wife went from NM to CALI on that thing. Not a bad small cruiser.
Great video and totally to the point. What fluid did you use?
Thanks! This is a cheap WD-40 equivalent :)
What are you using for the upper oil plug? Looks metal as opposed to the stock rubber
Hi! I am not sure what you mean… Do you mean the oil filler cap? The stock one is plastic and the one I have installed here is a metal one with an oil temperature guage in it!
Hey man. Really curios about your opinion. How bad is it if the engine leaks oil from the top of the back cilinder ?
It depends... old bikes in general leak oil in some places due to different reasons. It could be just a simple thing like a tired hardened oring that isn't forming a seal any more... or it could be leaking from around the cam chain tunnel... those things are no big deal. As long as you keep an eye on the oil level until you decide to replace orings and gaskets etc. It is worse if the head is leaking oil through the valve seals, then the engine performance is affected. It is also more difficult to replace those seals - it is often a head-off job.
@@JadusMotorcycleParts life saver. Thank you 😘
Nice vid, what size jet did u install? Stock is 107.5
Different models and years have different stock main jets. We send a range of jets in the kit with a jetting guide so that customers can match jetting to their exhaust system. This also allows for carb adjustments down the road if you want to install a different exhaust system :)
Did this ever make it 100mph?
Sure did! We're taking our time making a video about it ☺
Great video with detailed instructions :) I would just put rivet nuts into the baffles themselves and then put them back on with screws before the inspection :)
Great idea!

Is there a high pipe available for a scrambler type sr250?
Unfortunately not (that we know know of). We called our first pipe 'Low Slung' because we had intensions of doing a high pipe. But sadly it never happened... I wonder how much interest there would be in such a pipe?
How can the performance be so much worse by changing from a standard steel exhaust with collector box to an exhaust that has no collector box and is made of stainless steel? Both of those things should make it better, or at worst just not improve by much you would think?
Yamaha engineers spent a lot of time optimising the original system, so the flow of the primary pipes to the collector is not very restricted. Then the silencer has a lot of volume, so there is not a huge restriction there either. This aftermarket system may have better flow in the primary pipes, but the silencers are a terrible 'interference' design which reduces noise yes, but also kills gas flow. As mentioned in the video, the aftermarket system is nice from a cosmetic standpoint (yes, stainless, very nice) but not from a performance standpoint.
@@JadusMotorcycleParts I see. What are your views on the new improved version which they specify has been "Upgraded in 2022 to unleash your Virago to its highest potential" and have "Improved gas flow with deeper tone." Quotes taken from their website. The silencers are removable in the new version, but I suppose they used similar marketing for the version you tested which showed it in fact did not improve gas flow or unleash your Virago to its highest potential. If the silencers are the problem and they are removable on the new version do you think there is hope for it?
@@brian100pd Good question. I could speculate here but I won't because I see no reason why they could not just do a dyno test and back their statements up with numbers. You could reach out to them and ask them!
@@JadusMotorcycleParts I have actually contacted them already with a much more simple query and they weren't able to give any useful information, so as much as id like some information on their exhaust systems and not just empty statements saying "its great", i'm certain there's no point in asking them for it. If the development of the system involved anything more than "make a pipe that fits the bike" then like you, I cant see why they wouldn't share some of that info in their advertising to boost sales. Maybe the fact that your dyno testing showed it to be worse than the original answers that.
@@brian100pd Most likely! Dyno testing is time consuming and expensive, and doesn't always show the results you want/were hoping for! On another note, their drag pipes work quite well, but maybe that was a fluke ;) At least we at Jadus did some testing with it!
Hey great vid! Quick question, what torque setting would you suggest for the cover bolts?
The manual states 7.2ft-lb for the long oil filter cover bolts and for the crank case cover bolts it specifies 5.1ft-lb. But these settings are so low, we usually just do these up by feeling - tight enough but not too tight!
Hello again, thanks for the reply. Sorry if I bore you, but I need your opinion and your help. Two days ago, after having cleaned the carburettor well, I started the SR250 after years of standstill. As I already wrote to you, in the PRI position for about 1 minute, gasoline flowed out of the air filter exhaust pipe. When I put the fuel cock to ON, the fuel stopped coming out, and the bike started easily even using full choke. Today, when I went to turn it on, inserting only the whole choke, the bike started up, after a while it went out and didn't want to start again, as if no petrol was arriving. Not even when pushed downhill did it start. I then put the petcock back to the PRI position, and after nearly a minute in this position, petrol was NOT flowing out of the air cleaner drain pipe like it did two days ago. I put it back ON, tried to turn it on and this time the bike started. What did you understand? Why do you think this happens, where is the problem? I think it is incorrect that after two days, you need to put the tap on PRI to start it. I repeat, I had the sensation that no petrol was arriving to be able to light. Help me understand where I need to intervene. Thank you very much.
The fuel in the float bowl must be going somewhere and emptying it. You should not need to use the PRI (prime) position every time you start the bike. It is only needed if the bike has been sitting for a long time and the fuel in the float bowl has evaporated, or you have just rebuilt the carb and need to fill the float bowl again. My best advise is to rebuild the petcock (fuel tap). It sounds like you problem is there. But it is always good advice to rebuild the carb on old bikes as well because I still suspect your float valve is not working correctly.
@@JadusMotorcycleParts Thank you very much. I will also be replacing the intake manifold as I have noticed a few small air bubbles when spraying petroleum jelly while the bike is running. One question: In addition to its "paper" seal, should a high-temperature sealing paste also be applied?
Please, help me: yesterday when I started the SR250, after 6 years of being stopped and after having cleaned the carburettor, I put the petrol tap on PRI to start the engine. I got distracted and after about 30 seconds - 1 minute, I heard petrol falling to the ground through the air filter box tube: is this normal, or is there something wrong with the carburetor floats? Help me, thanks
Hi! That is unfortunate! Yes, you float valve is probably worn and not seating properly, therefore leaking. There are rebuild kits available and it is pretty easy to replace :) Just make sure that no fuel got into the engine/engine oil.
