Thanks for your channel. you know, When editing and creating styles in Cakewalk, do I need to access the Style Creator in the keyboard as well? The sounds from the keyboard and the piano roll don't match!!!
When you edit a Style in Cakewalk, you just listen to the keyboard sounds. You don't need Style creator. See also this video. czcams.com/video/PM3htJysPmQ/video.html
@@CasperVideo Sorry, I didn't express myself clearly. All sounds, regardless of whether I'm using the mouse (PC) or the keyboard (sx900), are outputted through my keyboard's built-in speakers. The problem arises when I play my keyboard; the sounds I hear are different from the sounds assigned to the notes in the piano roll. For example, when I press C3 on the piano roll with the mouse, I hear a kick, but when I press C3 on the keyboard, I hear the sound that is assigned on the keyboard, for example, a String instead of a kick!!

This must be for Europe only.I tried looking it up for USA page and nothing comes up for Genos 2. I got in touch with Yamaha and they said there are no available Expansion packs for the Genos 2. 🤷🏻♂️
Unfortunately, it is only for Europe. I don't know why Yamaha doesn't share this with everyone who bought the Genos 2.

Samo stisneš Start, nakon toga bi trebalo slati informacije. Ne znam točno treba li kakve postavke dodavati pod Setting. Radio sam davno taj video, a nakon toga nisam koristio midi commander. Mislim da bi trebalo pod USB Midi Device prikazati ono to je spojeno. I naravno, prije svega provjeri jeli uređaj podržava otg.

I transfer styles from my SX900 keyboard to my PC using a download manager, then I put them into Mixmaster and then from there into Cakewalk for editing. But after a few seconds, the Cakewalk program closes automatically. What is the solution to this?
It's hard for me to say. The problem may be in the USB MIDI driver. Try reinstalling. If that doesn't fix the problem, do a fresh install of Cakewalk. Everything works fine for me, I use Win10.

I had PSR SX 700 (sold) and now I have Genos2. I need to extract from LATIN Expansion of sx 700 some styles (ad es. popflamtangos.sty , styles not present in latin expansion for genos2). The file downloaded has extension .cpf and not .ppi .ppf, How can I resolve?
Hi Giuseppe, You cannot extract Style from cpf Packs. But if you do that, not all instruments would play because they are tied to the samples from the Pack. Look at the various Packs that are intended for Genos and there you will find all the Styles. In Packs Best of Europe you have a lot of rhythms from Latin, including the popflamtangos you mention. Good luck!

If you set the return value to zero, the effect would not be heard. For example, if we want a piano sound to have an effect, we first send the piano signal to the DSP effect, where it is processed/changed, and then send it back to hear how it sounds now.
You misunderstood me. What changes from using parameter lock reverb return level, I don't see any difference that it's on or off?

So this is a joke from Yamaha, so that people break their heads.
@@timbilfed Yes, the Yamaha is a very complex instrument. It makes you learn something. You don't have to use the parameter Lock option if you don't know what it is for.

I have a question for those who have mastered the sx900 well. Menu 2/ Utility/ Parameter lock: Reverb is blocked for me, but reverb return level, chorus return level, variation effects(system) return level is not, when switching styles. Do you check the same thing for yourself?
"Reverb parameter lock" locks only the master Reverb type. It does not lock its levels, chorus or variation effect. Each Style has its own Master Reverb (locked with Parameter lock) and special Levels (not locked). Sorry, but in me Genos 1, in the screen of selected Voice Preset page, those folders doesn't appears (GM&XG, etc.). I know that this video was made 4 years ago and its hás the last version firmware installed and probably that's why.d@@CasperVideo

I don't have Geno but the Tyros 5. I try setting up on my Tyros 5 similar to this video. The drum work just fine but the instrument doesn't work. When click a track in Cakewalk or Sonar, it only sound that track. I have no idea what to do next. If you can help, I will appreciate al lot.
You can find the Cakewalk template in the video description. The MIDI settings are identical on Genos and Tyros5 and try watching the video again. I don't know why the problem is happening.

Hello Casper and thanks for your videos. I'm loading the same style I want to edit in Cubase (as a midifile) and in Style creator in the Genos 2. It Works but recorded data from Cubase is not perfectly in sync in Genos (recorded ahead of beat). I can't manage to make it the other way, Genos as master and Cubase as slave to try a maybe beter synchronization...
It is difficult to synchronize Cubase and Genos. It shouldn't be because both are owned by Yamaha. When I edit Style on PC I always use XGWOrsk, it works just fine.
