    I did 2 trade shows, one I made 2 sales and broke even, then the other made no sales. I had so much interest too and people loved my product, but a lot of deals did not close, and buyers ignored me after the trade show - even after they said they wanted to buy and loved my product. Furthermore, I even had in-person business meetings where buyers said they were buying, then ghosted me after the meeting. One buyer I talked to over a couple days in person, at a total of 10 hours. He did purchase $200 of product to do a test run, then ghosted me. I have a friend who said he gets no sales at trade shows, but he thinks he needs very targeted ones for his niche. (Although, he makes tons of sales on ecommerce.) At the last expo I attended, I talked to an exhibitor who said he made 0 sales after paying $10k for his booth and his product was great. He is also in retailers, but could not make sales at the trade show. I also even did sampling meetings as a follow-up from the expo where people tried my product at their locations, and loved it, even said they would buy, and those deals still did not close. Maybe it is my follow-up system, but it just seems like they all ghost even after they say they want to BUY. Also, the trade show where I made no sales was in California, along with the people I talked to who made no sales were also at trade shows in California. The one where I made a couple sales was in Las Vegas. When I told the sales lady from the expo I got into 2 stores she was shocked and said that was really good so that makes me think most people make no sales. Also, the salespeople at expos are SO annoying. It is very distracting for me when I'm trying to make sales and salespeople waste my time. One of the expos I went to, literally half the people there were just trying to sell me something. I did not spend thousands to get sold to. These are also food expos, so I do not know if people at product expos are different. I am also thinking it is harder to sell to retailers in California.

      Hey! not sure exactly what's happening but you should be able to integrate before any orders are placed. Your best bet is getting in contact with Faire themselves, if it's a system issue it's not something I can help with but their support is pretty good when you already have an account :)

      If you have any access to your account, try and get in touch with support. They are very difficult to get a hold of these days due to how large they have become, it's not something we have access to helping with I am afraid, although we have done very well on the channel we are also just another brand like you!

      Hey! as much as I wish I knew about this side of it, they keep this side of the business very closed off so we have no way of knowing why your account was suspended. My advice is this: 1. Review their terms and conditions, see if you did breach anything obvious 2. keep contacting them/re-applying by any means they have available. If you have any level of access to your account try and get in touch with support

    Hi! Great video! I have a question, I just started Faire 1 week ago and I have been paying for shipping labels, over $40 each order and basically being negative every time. I am not offering free shipping, I think we all pay for shipping if the buyer is not on Faire Direct correct? Can you explain a little more about that?

      They are expensive shipping labels! Is your product quite heavy? So if you have opted into Insider Shipping (think it's just USA at the moment) that means you are offering free shipping to insiders, Faire pays for free shipping to non faire direct customers. We do it so that customers get free shipping if they spend over £200 (UK orders), you can set this in your promotions tab, we recommend doing that tbh it helps boost your AOV up a bit, and wholesale customers expect to pay for shipping on smaller order usually. You basically want to be paying shipping on orders when they make sense to you size wise - our product is very light so a bit easier for us. Does that answer your question?       @@vanessaolortiga49 We think staying part of insiders is good for being boosted in the algorithm, but it depends on how many orders you are getting as part of insiders so you just need to test it out and if it's becoming too expensive for you you need to change - only you can say what's too expensive for you and your margins. And defs add a promotional tier in for free shipping over a certain amount. All of this is dependent on your margins so make sure you know those and what you can afford to do. Sorry for generic advice but it's hard to go exact without knowing the exact ins and outs of your product and margins

      Hey! not something I have come across before, your site should be active already if you are able to add products to it. you will have to contact faire support directly from your portal if you can't find the button for it, sorry I can't be of more help

    Hello I saw your CZcams account and very happy because it was so informative regarding Faire Shop. I see the account reactivation video, but it's not here. I have just started a small business of crocheted toys and completed the listing process. However, after 3 to 4 days, I received an email from the Faire team stating that they have removed my shop from the Faire marketplace. I know this is a wholesale shop. I have submitted a case to Faire support, but they did not reactivate my account and mentioned that my shop does not meet the requirements, so they closed it. Can you please let me know how I should create a case to reactivate my shop? Thank you :)

      Hey - you will need to get in touch with Faire directly, this isn't something I can help with. They will have support contacts on their website but I know it's difficult getting in touch when you aren't a customer. Try re-applying through our referral links every couple of months as well

      @@BuildStrongHappyFamilies hey yes faire does all of this for you if someone signs up for exclusivity. But they have to be a part of the programme for it to work. Retailers in that postcode can still see your products but they can see you have exclusivity switched on for their area and they won’t be able to purchase. If you want retailers to have exclusivity just lower the minimum to something fairly achievable. We’ve set ours at £3k a year so they have to be selling a decent amount of block off their post code to others

    Hello. I have a jewelry brand and would love to complement my store with pieces from Faire. I would like to clarify a question that might seem simple, but is very important to me: When I sell a product from Faire under my brand, do I need to mention the manufacturer's name, as in a multi-brand store, or can I associate all the pieces exclusively with my brand's name?       Usually you cannot white label goods through Faire - so you wouldn't be able to replace any branding or packaging with your branding and packaging, that's the key difference between wholesaling and white labelling. However I am sure there brands on Faire set up in this way regardless but you would need their permission to market the goods in this way, as a whole its banned on Faire to do this so if a retailer sees you doing this with their goods without permission they can report you to Faire.

    Hi Lucy! Just getting into the weeds on Faire and so happy I found your channel, it's so helpful! I'm wondering if you have dabbled in promoted listing yourself or for any brands you work with? I'm wondering how helpful it might be for a brand just getting their footing in wholesale, trying to find new partners within the marketplace, and if you have advice related to strategy, budget, etc.?

      @@HayleyRiley-y1s hello! I’m afraid not yet, I wish I had! We don’t have them in uk yet and they’re still in beta in US. If you’re just starting I recommend really pushing to generate your own leads and sales - teach the algorithm that people want to buy your product. I can imagine paid ads work if you have deep pockets but I don’t know anything more about them to say anything with confidence - yet!

      @@rebelandsiren hello! Omg amazing so glad you like them, and thanks for taking the time to feedback what’s useful for you and what questions you have - it gives us ideas too! We recommend Klayvio for B2B and b2C. It’s much easier than other emails to make pretty ones. The templates you downloaded were actually done on hubspot and I think we made it harder for ourselves doing that. I’ll do a separate video on it but a few key things: 1. Stick to your key brand guidelines like font and colours, keep it simple 2. This is not B2C so doesn’t need to be all singing all dancing, it needs to feel like your brand and add value to the business owner reading it 3. Canva is your friend! If you need to make any graphics or headers canva is excellent for this

      No worries so glad you’re finding them useful! Absolutely - I’ll see if I can pull together enough for a whole video but the main headline is I’d filter your abandoned checkout (modified in last 7 days) once per week and then send them a simple faire message that says hey I can see you have items in your cart is there anything I can help with? Keep it simple, it’s not pushy, see how it goes for you :)

      @@julienetostes-kurz4114 they are swamped so some people are just not hearing back at all at the moment, they recommend to re apply every couple of months, depending on your product category it's taking a long time for some products to get on because the market is so saturated. more unique products it's a bit faster!

    I used to message my customers on Faire more regularly but AT LEAST half of them don’t ever respond. Even when I have a legitimate question about their order! I don’t know how to improve customer interaction on Faire - it feels like a lot of people just don’t check their messages.

      Yeah I we message customers A LOT on our accounts and also clients accounts and hardly ever get responses. Same goes for emails. These are busy people they likely won't respond but that doesn't mean they haven't taken it on board. How I see it is when everyone else is giving up on messaging customers when no one responds, we will keep messaging them and delivering value - and remember with faire you are pandering to two parties - the customer and the algorithm!

    Hi Lucy, my daughter and I started a Stationery business and first applied onto Faire way back in April, then 6th May and then 6 June. Each time we get a - you are on the waiting list message but have not heard anything else from them so far. How long does it take to get accepted onto Faire?

You can try applying through my referral links in the video that’s been known to help a bit and I can see if there is any pushing I can do my end, when I’ve asked faire before they’ve said just keep applying

      yes I think it's going to be great! Definitely aim for it, we are sure that the algorithm will prioritise top shops over non top shops :)

    Hi Lucy! Great vid! A couple questions! 1. If you are just starting to respond to reviews do you go all the way back to when you started even if that’s years ago? And 2. With international shipping how the heck do you see what postage would be….in another video you mentioned your customers were seeing crazy shipping rates. I wonder if this is what is happening to international customers? I’ve had international open since I started but have gotten maybe three orders from outside NA in the last three years. And 3. How often should you message customers? I sent messages to a bunch about a month ago and it worked out so well! But now how long do I wait? lol thank you! I look forward to your videos every week ❤❤❤

      1. I'd maybe go back a month? Anything longer than that can look a bit weird and also it does have the date on it so people will see how long it took you to reply 2. Faire have a new shipping system you can opt into to set your shipping rates so it's more transparent :) We ship by ourselves so the shipping rates we have for customers are what e set them as per our warehouse 3. standard messaging we do is every week any abandoned baskets, every month chase for reviews on orders, and every month also go back 6 months - a year to chase anyone who hasn't ordered in a while, and then you can message on new launches too!

      it's taking ages to get through at the moment, they are swamped with applications, I'd keep applying every 2 months and use the link in our video description as referral links seem to work better, I've had a few people on this channel manage to get in :)

    So many brands on faire are overpriced unfortunately… i remember when wholesale was 50% of the retail price these days are lucky to get 25% so there’s no profit in it for the retailers once you take Postage, VAT inport charges if international.. it’s not worth it.

      yeah it's getting harder to shop around, and Faire makes it more expensive for brands to list on wholesale so the price has gone up, but they are still out there! Our wholesale prices give a 2.62 margin and is more than 50% of RRP

      is this for the campaigns or the automations? I wouldn't rely solely on that - it's why we use a mixture of faire email, klayvio, and Faire DM as you can't rely on one method getting through

    If you use this product all the time, how come when you save the PO it is number 3? Is this just an affiliate promo video, and you don't really use it at all?

      Hey! We use this product weekly, mostly for predicting stock levels and making decision on product, we have used it less on the PO side but that's still super handy - at time of filming we had only 2 orders out as we only had one manufacturer so now thankfully we have increased to 3 and use POs a lot more frequently, product had become a bottle neck for us but we've done a lot of work to fix that!

    As a new retailer I’ve just bought my domain name and I’m starting my Shopify but obviously I don’t have that many products yet as all wholesale companies seem to want businesses that are already formed. How would you go about applying for faire as a new business?

      I would go ahead and apply anyway, you might get rejected but you can keep applying - use the links in our CZcams descriptions to apply because we can help chase it up as it's a referral link. It's hard to get on faire at the moment so the sooner you try and the more you try the better chances you have, we have heard this from them

If i have already integrated shopify and faire, however as the year goes by, and i edit my product list on shopify with new images and product information, how can i get Faire to adopt these changes i made on shopify to faire?     Can you help answer, if i have already integrated shopify and faire, however months later i have edited the product information and photos on shopify, it doesnt automatically change it on faire. Is there a way faire can update all its information simultaneously as i am updating Shopify ? Its a pain editing on Faire when it should just update when i updated my shopify. Please help.

    Ahhh the instagram thing. It’s so hard as an artist to not feel like you need to post everyday but as you said, wholesale is where it’s at and this rings true for my stickers.     Would you recommend a similar approach year round in direct outreach calls/emails asking if they have a typical advance buying window for seasons and for specific holidays?

      definitely tailor your outreach based on the season. If you are targeting independents I'd recommend going a month or two out from the season (so Fathers day we start talking about end of April), but buyers for large retailers they have huge buying windows and can take a year to actually stock your product

      thoughts are as with anything faire rolls out - give it a try, maybe there will be a nice boost in the algorithm for you in taking part. Test it and see how you go, as long as it's profitable for you. Another one that we may or may not see here in Europe, we still don't even have top shop yet!

      @@rebelandsiren Yeah good question, we are generally weighted towards UK anyway because of shipping times, and most of our acquisition is focussed on the UK. Whether retailers look at it and expect to see top shop I don't know, but I think the algorithm will favour US brands that have top shop status over those that don't, but I assume (and hope) the algorithm can't not favour us for not having it because its not something we can get yet! However I think it might be coming to us soon so we will see what it changes for us :)

    i think my descriptions leave to be desired. but I'm confused with the repetition of words, as I've been told that keyword stuffing for google seo and repeating keywords on etsy is redundant and potentially harming seo. is this specifically different for faire?

      We don’t know exactly how the faire algorithm works, but from our experience we’ve found it helps to atleast optimise them with keywords that make sense to both the algorithm and human eye, the way we’ve done it in this video means that for a human reading it, it’s still in a way that naturally flows and doesn’t look spammy like some keyword stuffing can, but it also allows us to target trending keywords on faire. We’ve definitely not seen it harming us though, but we don’t change our seo often - perhaps if you were always ramming listings with keywords and changing it often, it could damage your listings? We just had to keep trying things based on what we hear from our faire account manager, as they protect their algorithm rules closely of course!
