I want this bike so much..

Unless you are a racer, why is speed so important given you can lose you licence in an eyeblink? To me it is all about how it makes you feel, the look, the sound, the handling and making you smile. Give me a Royal Enfield over a screaming "Rice Bike" any day. All a sports bike is good for apart from speeding tickets, is DOA, dead on arrival. I am 72 and still have a few more years of enjoying the wind in what's left of my hair and flies in what's left of my teeth...and a hug from the GF (read wife) on pillion, as we do 50mph around the twisties. Then enjoying a half of lager in the sun of Portugal, looking at the bike that got me there and the wife who "wants to die with me".

As an Indian reviewer put it, its an "Un-bobber bobber" 😂

I have done 600 miles on mine, agree pretty much with everything that you said. I'm still not sure what it is, does take some muscling around corners and she is heavy. Riding her after getting off my cb500f (my commuter bike) requires a whole different riding style! Balanced review, thanks.👍

Number one you have no right to be on that bike , two you have no right to tell any rider anything about bikes as you know nothing other than what you’ve read in magazines.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the Review. I have a 1989 Honda Transalp. She is starting to misbehave after all these years. I am super ichy for the Ducati Multistrada but a divorce seriously changed my financial situation. And i am starting to look at other more cost-effective solutions than the dream bike Multistrada. I absolutely love the Multistrada (rented and test-drove a bunch) the scrambler grabs another part of my Psyche... what version of the scrambler would you point me towards. (I am 55 now, leaning more paved than off-road, live in the country, and looking for a bike to just do day trips with the girlfriend. 100 miles out tops. But it has enough torque to put a smile on my face. Thoughts?

I'm saving to buy this bike, I already did the test drive, I guess I tried everything to take a safe decision, I even crashed it against a car and got to keep the broken front brake lever, maybe I'm gonna turn it into a keychain as a lucky amulet, thankfully that's all I had to pay. All in all, a nice bike which I plan to buy

It's a raw motorcycle. Akin to what the HD Sportster used to be, or what the Triumph Bobber is pretending to be (at twice the price). I can see this being VERY popular with the custom crowd.

You own an interceptor, your should have compare the ergo and handling. I was looking to purchase an Interceptor. I m 6' tall. Tired the interceptor and liked it before shotgun came up, I ride the super Meteor didn't like it tho

Im not owner but I read/watch many AT test and most rider/owner chose Sport mode for longer shift and higher rpm..

My 260hp Triumph Rocket 3 burned up in a fire Thursday before last. A minimum of a $45,000 loss. 😭 I had more in that bike than any other bike I've ever owned, and I've owned several Harley's. I will severely miss that bike, it was the BEST bike I've ever owned!!!😭 I'm not sure what I'm getting to replace it!?🤔 If insurance doesn't screw me, I'm thinking a BMW K1600B all Black of course. What do Y'all think???

TBH Im kinda surprised with your comments on comfort and suspension. I had the bike for 4 days and I found the suspension very hard and harsh (it was in factory setting), it was working well just on the smooth roads otherwise it was jumping like a goat. And the seat... it was just wooden plank.

good review but the chest mounted camera view showing your other Gopro rather than the road ahead is not the best. Maybe go for a helmet mount to show a riders perspective of the road ahead.

Good review bud. I am about your age at 47 and havent ridden since I had kids 20 years ago....but i am buying one of these beautiful machines hopefully next year. Perfect mix of low end torque and top end hp with ~120hp peak. Upright riding position and wheelies anytime I feel like it on a bike that I find beautiful. Tail tidy on the arse end...yoshimura exhaust and an ECU flash makes these things literally the perfect motorcycle to me. They make nice aftermarket mirrors that go down instead of sticking out so far as well...honestly i would prefer to just have the mirrors that stick up from an MT09. I’ve had a Continental GT for 3 years now and love it but I was disappointed with the handling when I first had it. A YSS fork kit was fitted together with Hagon shocks on the rear which made a big difference but the fitting of Avon Roadriders seemed to make the biggest improvement. The original Indian Ceats were in my opinion quite poor, far too hard and lacking grip - not exactly confidence inspiring. The bike overall is now lovely to ride thanks to good handling, a characterful engine, superb gearbox and slipper clutch. I look forward to every ride.

I feel the best Triumph Scrambler would be an updated Speed 400X with better suspension, spoked tubeless wheels, and easy height adjustment for short rider who usually miss on on the adventure style of riding. 40ps is more than enough for off-road use even when carrying luggage.

I think you’re certainly right when you say that this feels a lot different to ride compared with the X model. The X seemed very normal and I felt no challenge, but here with the XE everything turns out differently. The XE is the bike! I use it mainly as a road bike and I like that it’s a tall bike. You see everything over the traffic and it filters very well because it’s maneuverability is at the top. And the plus on top of that is that car drivers see you too very well and that’s a “feature “ that made my mind when I was hesitant in buying the bike. On the road is good to see well what you have in front of you but it’s also important to be seen by the other road users. Now that I have some thousand kms on the odometer I’m glad that I decided to conclude the business and I got it since April of this year. I also agree that the present suspensions are a bit firm on the road but that’s is a trade off between comfort and performance. I like this bike because it performs perfectly on the road and the cherry on the cake is the off road capability. In sum, the bike is awesome to ride. The prior set of suspensions was very similar. This Baja orange Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE made it fantastic for me in terms of styling, so with all the features that we know the bike has, it’s a peach of a bike! I really enjoyed watching that as I did the same skills day at Mallory Park on my Transalp a couple of years ago. The bike looks good. Did the rear suspension adjustment make much difference when you were cracking on a bit?

As you said, it's got the engine, handling, low weight, flickability, electronics, and comfortable riding position! What more could you want...um...erhem a comfortable seat perhaps, yes indeed that was the first mod, some aftermarket Corbin leather cusioning for the aging rear end.😅

Whilst it has some issues I like it. The big let down for me is the Enfield app. It sucks the life out of a phone battery like there is no tomorrow.

In my opinion this is the best modern retro bike! Very uni. Good for offroad and normal ride.

I have 2500km on my 2024 XSR900; I previously owned two first-gen models, a 2016 & a 2018, as well as a XSR700, MT07, and about 42 other bikes since 1969 😀 (I am 60). The 2024 is a superior motorcycle from a rideability standpoint, yet is still a traffic-punishing, hooligan machine when I so desire it to be. Anything we buy will be outdated by one to four model years down the road, so it is important to buy what fits your riding style and appeals to your perception of what a motorcycle should look like. That being said, anyone who criticizes a motorcycle before twisting the throttle, may be missing out.. and certainly this is true in the case of the second gen XSR900.

Unfortunately old electronics, old gen quick shifter, odd ergo, tiny tft. GP is cutting edge but not that comfortable. After testing 2024 GP & MT09 which is hands down the best mt09 sofar either wait for next XSR 900 evolution or buy mt09 2024

The street triples a great bike but it just doesn't have the mid range grunt of the cp3

I’ve owned one others for a year or so and your review sums up my experience with it. An awesome bike, good for around town but then loads of fun on weekend drives too. A sensible sitting position though the seat lacks some cushioning. Glad you enjoyed it..!

I miss the tonality of the engine compared to my current CB1000R motor.

Great review. I prefer the looks of the last gen XSR900, there's a weird amount of just "dead space" in the design. Look at the slab of black on the frame, the weird headlight proportions. If they got the looks a bit more together, it'd be the bike for me. It is floating in an awkward space between reto and neo-retro / retro-futuristic. It needs to commit one way or another.

Why ur front cam is on ur belly? angle is bad

Picked up my XSR 900 on Friday and I love it. I'm only 5ft 3, so the seat height of even the GP version is too tall for me. 810mm is the most I can handle. Given that limitation, the XSR900 is possibly the best bike I've ever owned. Smooth and comfortable, and I can still get the ball of a foot down when I stop. I don't see it popping up in too many videos these days, so thanks for reviewing it. Keep up the great work :)

Nice engine, but I personally don't like the looks. The new 2024 MT09 is better looking but for me I would opt for the Triumph 765R as its more road biased and it's also a triple. 😊

Why are there so many videos about the 450 done by people who have no idea about the previous model and just talk promos. We need real reviews.
