Honestly, I think the cultures like Russian, German and whatnot probably should only come about when nationalism starts to take root and then fairly quickly absorb the cultures speaking the appropriate language within your borders (and much slower pops living in other nations).

I think "culture welding" shall we say should maybe have multiple poles as well - for instance the Occitan/French split persists to this very day! So I think whichever culture rules as well as largest lical culture should have some conversion pressure

An interesting thing to note is that you can kinda see the difference in infrastructure between Russia and the other regions by comparing the markets. All 3 markets have a small center that's pretty light up but the rest is very dark with barely any market access. Also, surely there won't be any controversy in next week's tinto maps

One benefit of having high location density is that when your nation expands there is a very rewarding feeling because the vastness of your territories is depicted well. In imperator when you have conquered all of italy as rome you already feel like your country is big. But in eu4 it feels small and unsatisfying to conquer italy. Damn Muscovy is one of my favorites as you can avoid AE very well and constantly be in war to 5 different directions. Very fast paced EU4 gameplay is to be had there IMO.

Gediminid is not really based on surname. High dukes at that time didn't have a surname. This dynasty is named after Great Duke/King Gediminas and the name was given by historians

They absolutely need to add rivers into the game. Volga river is uncrossable at some parts today and transports and galleys should be able to sail up the big rivers and help during sieges, prevent crossings etc..Ottomans had many naval battles in Danube river for example. Devs said they refused so I guess we will mod it

Keep in mind that P.U. work differently from EU4, since Novgorod is a republic i suppose that it only lasts until the Moscovian ruker dies

I'd assume novgorod will elect a ruler after the death of Ivan the first ending whatever control moscovy has over the Republic.

I hope that the national values talked about here are more fleshed out then idea groups were in eu4. For example, I hope that we can only have quality or quantity not both. These laws incline our country in one way or another. Alternatively, these National values could replace National ideas from eu4. Either way I'm really interested to see what they mean

I feel like systematising the whole concept of Common Law into just a), more satisfied estates, and b), cheaper stability cost, is a little too reductive. And this issue is true for a lot of these laws, which are just simple modifiers, when in reality something like Fleet in Being should influence your entire navel play-style, not just make navel maintenance cheaper.

Idk I have always liked ages and institutions in eu4. When you know a knew age is coming up that changes the way you play, even by a little, its fun. Institutions should be harder to get and spread slower or not at all, if you dont have a written language you dont get printing press

I love laws

It would be so nice if we could have 2d portraits rather than the 3D portraits. At least to me. It screams too much like CK3, and my brain just immediately associates.the game with CK3, which isn't the specific game I want to play. Ive also just never really liked how the models look in Paradox games. The portraits in Paradox games looked best in HOI4 or Stellaris

I grow excessively more worried about this game each time they release more information on it. This is a BIG project, and they haven't gotten a game "right" on release since maybe HOI4, and that was only after a long time of DLC. How much DLC is this game going to have. Do we seriously need another Paradox game with several hundred dollars in DLC?

7:45 I'm assuming a lot of noble pop cap comes from buildings built by yhe nobles that you can't just delete. Also while peasants will promote to nobles I doubt it's something that will happen in a year. So mybe you could send your nobles to die so they are a bit less influential for a few years to pass a law or something. Theoretically at least
