There is a big difference between a Boker and an authentic Higo. That does not look like an authentic Higo

If your Higo is dinging the inside of the brass handle when you close it, it's most likely just badly made as it isn't supposed to even touch the brass when closed regardless of how hard you close the knife. the base of the blade should have a slightly larger wedge that allows it to make contact with the inside of the handle before the apex does, keeping the edge lifted and off of the brass at all times. It would be a fkn stupid knife if it didn't at least do that.

I have a dozen Benchmade knives and love them, but at their current pricing I'd probably have a lot less of them. I use the Griptilian and Bugout the most of the bunch. I consider the Griptilion with its plastic handle made for function over use and hole opener as an honorary Spyderco knife.

I love seeing reviews like this and damn it if I don't love that dry humor of yours. I think khukuri were never intended to be used like that (maybe I'm wrong?) and I don't intend to do any of it myself, but knowing they can go through that absolute hell is a real confidence booster that my money will be well spent!

On a completely unrelated side note, do you still like your flashlights to have the lowest possible moonlight mode? I accidentally came across the Manker MC11 II, which has a customizable moonlight that goes so low that you can't even tell the light is switched on. The absolute lowest moonlight I've ever seen in a flashlight.

I've owned the buck 110 probably longer than any other knife. It's probably my least favorite fixed blade that I own. The SRK is probably my favorite (I don't have very many knives haha)

I've been a Tanto Bro since the first minute i saw one. As a mechanic who was frequently in the junkyard and was interested in carrying as few tools into the desert wasteland as possible, it just made sense. I've almost always had a CRKT M16-10KS. Ive probably bought 15 of them over the last 15+ years. I never broke one, but I've lost a bunch and donated them to the freeway.

I hate this knife, It is awesome in how it is unique, and the gears work as you open it. The materials are on par with what you would expect, but the Mantis is a biter, A tanto blade is meant for a stabbing cut, and The lock mechanism is a liner lock, the issue is by design there is no protection from disconnecting the lock when gripped, add the actions of getting cut bad is likely with use. Oh yes, it cuts to the bone sharp.

I ordered the Remette and it feels like a 'cheap' knife. not worth the 250+ I paid. Live and learn. had to have it. It is interesting but not much else.
