i run the 88s with the .5in shim and the bilstein hd in the front with the tahoe springs in the rear and tahoe shocks

i would suggest doing one of those rear hitch racks and bring some spare jerry cans. i take 2 full can of gas with me every time i go in my trailblazer offroading. im planning on doing a basic rear bumper with just 2 light pods and 2 hook points. the main for me is 2 built in jerry can holders.

also if you haven't do a lwb axle upgrade and try ti find the g80 if not you can do a lwb ext rear end with a detroit locker and be way more offroad functional. if you havent look at my traipblazer build im in California

Saw that you have 238k on the odometer. That's not bad that the vehicle went that long before needing the trans replaced, especially considering it is a 4x4/AWD. Even if someone spends $2k to $3K to repair one of these, compare that to what it costs to buy a real truck platform 4x4 SUV or truck made in the last 12 years - THEY ARE BIG BUCKS. So for a couple of thousand bucks you have a nice looking, functional overland vehicle that should last a long time with just minor repairs.

Yeah, a common problem with this era of Chevy Trailblazers is that the 4x4/AWD activator switch motor eventually dies and needs to be replaced (the cheaper ones are unreliable- go for an OEM part only). Not only should your light activate when you switch to 4x4, but you should hear a very audible sound of that switch motor activating as well. If you don't hear that sound, the motor is bad and needs to be replaced. It is fairly easy replacement and there is a really good video of a guy here on CZcams replacing his at his house with simple hand tools. Another part to replace on these is the headlight relay switch (Part #20601 at Autozone), which is a just removable plug in the fuse box under the hood. When it goes bad, you won't have any headlights at all. It is a very common issue on these, so it's best to change it before doing any serious backcountry stuff. Otherwise, these are really good 4x4s for the money assuming they've been maintained.

I noticed that the location is Jacumba, CA which is near where the border wall ends. It has become a place of illegal entry into the US. i wonder if the resort has hired additional security to protect the visitors? The flow has been significant in the past couple of months.

In 1980 in Mexico at Alcopullco it was $100 dolllars a night for a hotel room at the beach. They ride horses on the beach and each hotel has connection cannals to the next hotel. We get to swim to each hotel with out getting out of the water. $70.00 to me is pricey for a night to camp on out. However it is cash flow for the lady who rented it to one. She made the $70.00.
