You should carry a little fold-up bicycle that you can ride after those long drives, I remember driving from LA in one day to Oakland and back, all that bouncing left me uncomfortable for a week.

My neighbor says that w-40 is a solvent that you should not use in assembly, I like to use silicon it is also good with plastic connectors but should be tried before ignition.

I have a 2006 4 wd trailblazer. Seats are taken out has a platform with 7" of temperpedic foam it's has 2" body lift and on 32" tires for sale $2750 needs a new CV axle I think it would be perfect for you
