I don' get it. A city inspector? Chicago? Was he there for something else?
For not knowing anything you did a pretty good job. Although I would've tested the line coming into the panel in the house and said the outside doesn't look like it's been messed with it's probably related to the line being yanked down during the storm.
@@imark7777777 but there was also breakers out there which I had to rule out
As soon as you discovered the problem was not the house side of the meter, but the utility side of the meter is when you pack up and have the utility company come out. I'm an electrician and that's my rule of thumb. Last year a house lost half it's power, so I tested for voltage and then I tested for continuity. As soon as I found out it was the utility side where the issue was at I told the home owner they needed to contact the utility company and have them come out. Utility came and saw that the problem was on their side and fixed the problem. I went back to the house after they were done and retested everything to be sure the house was back to 240.
@@TheForgottenMan270this is true brotha!! But also there was breakers outside by meters that could be bad. Had to rule it all out so I'm not looking dumb
While looking on the right of the screen, video feeds, The Adventures of Handi-man, In Living Color, don't know if you have seen show from a while back. It wouldn't be shown on TV these days.
@@nicolasmuniz9452 I haven't, my bad
Doing small drain work, a lot of work but they dont pay much, i charge more when they call, dont like it call somebody else.
Love it
that was a whole circus of clowns with sideshow! 🤣 good ole plumbing and they wonder why I refuse to snake anything, I just bid full replacment from basket strainers and PVC back to large cast iron or copper. gut the whiole building! 🤠
Lol 😆 🤣 😂
Spray foam seal around your roof vent pipes to prevent possible humidity entering those places
Good idea!
We have this little mini bar type sink in main hall at work. Behind it is 2 single restrooms with sinks that attach to mini sink in hall. Space under hall sink about half sized what you have in video. Also line running to it for hot/cold water cooler next to sink. Everyone cleans dishes in hall sink and plugs up all 3 sinks. I shut down both restrooms and opened up access to hall sink. Thing is loaded with black gunk and water and just enough room to put 3 gallon trash can under. I had black shit everywhere and office clerk comes up and says both are closed? Kinda inconvenient. Now I did not say what was in my head. I said yes. Took me just under an hour from clearing, putting back together and cleaning up. She comes back just as I was putting piping together. She says I hope you clean that up. I must have looked at her like she was about to die. Shocked look on face and backed up 5 steps before apologizing, lol. Retire Aug 30th and cannot wait! Thanks for video!
I have alot of success with a drain opener called Green Gobbler.
That Ryobi slowing you down. I switched to the Milwaukee M18 that comes with the square bucket for $375. It's crazy fast. I don't even take the Ryobi in anymore.
Ryobi is a handyman version, we pro dont take anything ryobi inside the house.
@@sdfv4zx lol damn
Just out of curiosity, why did you bypass the downstream outlets on the second one? Shouldnt that have connected to the load side of the GFCI?
I can't remember this vid. I match what's existing. That could be for another circuit
Wow that was a tough one
Yep it definitely kicked my butt!!!
Situation like that.....get a long 3/8 flex supply. Attach it to the hot side stop. Then you can put water down the drain through that supply without putting all the trap back together each time. Gotta keep a bucket under the access port for when it backs up.👍
Good idea 💡
How many bars did ya hit up after dealing with clusterf**k??😂😂😂
Lol 😆 I swear these jobs drive me into the ground lol 😆
😂
You know what I have. So I won’t keep attaching the P- trap to check if is clear. A bucket with some water and a small pool cover pump. Pump some water in the pipe. If backs up. I know I got to keep going.
Persistence is the key. Finally the restriction is broken up and flows away into a larger transport pipe. Hoo-Ray! ❤🎉🇺🇸✌️
Yea lol it didn't wanna let go but I knew it would eventually!
I always notify Diggers Hotline be smart & safe..
What I would do if not sure which meter to look at is to cut the main breaker in the apt and look for the meter that isn't running.
Like somebody before you just shave the end of your new post down and stick it in & pile your cement back fill and call it a day..
Yep that's what i ended up doing
Hi Brian, just to let you know that the end of your snake just come up in my back garden....in the UK ☺️
Lol 😆 🤣 😂
I was going to ask. Is there any kind of maintenance we can do to keep the snake from building rust?
Drain the water out and take the snake out and put snake oil on it
Where’s your 😼 slayer Rico Suave button up shirt at???
Omg 😮 that was crazy, you hung in there and got it though
one of these days it will get you
And another thing I would have done differently in this job use the vacuum cleaner at the part where you open it up in the wall if it doesn't work on it sucking it why don't you blow into the have a vacuum cleaner blow into the wall
JOHN SHANE IS A ANIMAL
This was funny if you watch this on a projector you get free pretty freaking dizzy
This is why we have the rule if it's cast or cpvc anything extra like leaks is extra rate! All that rusty cast iron is always a nightmare and 3 ferncos later it may be fixed 😆. I really thought thr chain knocker would be the answer in your choose your own adventure. The vacuum truck ussaly dosent work on cast iron/galvanized since there's a good chance there's a big hole someplace. I've had good luck with a air plunger with rusty pipes before especially if you hook up a auxiliary tank eith compressed air and give it a hard blast with some duration on top of it. On the microwave front please have some metal or platic sleeve on the romex don't be that guy with unprotected wire flopping around the cabnet. Keep them comming good work 👏
Why not top snake it? Could've ran water while you ran the cable and no mess! Just put a bucket underneath just in case and you're set
I usually only top feed for toilets. I usually like to see what's going on
How do you top snake. The snake won't fit through those the drain holes will it
@marvellstarks2434 it most definitely will, especially if you're using a 1/4 cable, at my Job we top snake with a 5/16 cable, we use needle nose pliers, make a hole big enough on the strainer and top snake it
@frankling3843 oh the 1/4 inch will fit. I gotta try it. But I can't believe yall bending people's drains permanently just so the snake will fit.
What a disaster, you were looking like an octopus taking on both sinks 🐙. Drano and blue monster make a good combination definitely straighten your hair right up😂 great vid 👍👍
Lol 😆 yea that would be my luck mixing them both 🤣
Same here, I don't trust microwave templates much, I usually take actual measurements of the unit to figure out where the holes need to be on the top especially.
Yep !!! I couldn't say it better myself
28:20 Hole in the drain pipe??????
Yep she let goo eventually
The struggle is real. Good work.
Thanks!! Ya I meant to post vid sooner been slammed
Hey Brian. Just wanted to tell you that your hair is looking great! I was watching an older video and such a difference. I'm rockin a thin forest so I'm happy for you bro if it can't be me lol. Thanks for the videos 🤩
Thanks Andy! I appreciate it!!
lol, home warranty companies. shadiest do nothing suckers out there or do everything too cheap/wrong/used parts. extended auto-warranties are equally as bad.
Lol 😆 if people only knew
as a redneck fix, when the concrete is good and deep. just woodbit bore the rest of rotten post apart and shop vac it out, followed by cutting new post to just fit the hole snugly and use concrete anchoring epoxy/mix liberally. may have to drive in some with sledge and or trim the top off if not the exact height needed. we've done post replacements where they put a prking lot of concrete or asphalt around well after they were installed. no need to wreck the parking lot or any heavy equipment. no it's not fun doing them, but still done in two days and no heavy equipent in sight. lol *edit* i should proofread and turn on spellcheck. lol, naw let the typos and lack of attention fly!
post *10*, handyman *1* lol
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 got me
It looks good. Don't worry about it.
@@randyhuff1983 thanks bro!
Well he did pretty good, he traced it down....and then knew when to stay in his lane.
I could only do so much
Blue monster is kinda pricey. I bought a 1lb jar of Crystals of Household 100% Lye Drain Opener at ACE for 8 bucks. Work just as well as BM
@@SIXPACK110 yea I buy 2 lbs for probably 16
Worse handyman failure that I heard about was when a guy attempted to clean an energized 200 amp panels buss bar with a steel brush. Set himself on fire and spent several days in a hospital. Only qualified people with the proper PPE should perform electrical work. Besides the yearly 8 hours of continuing education had to do sn OSHA 10 class to renew my electrical license.
@@JohnThomas-lq5qp yea I did 2 OSHA 10s and a OSHA 30
You better have good insurance and a good lawyer working around there, ask me how I know, RUN AWAY NOW.
I try to limit liability ad much as possible. It might not look it but I do. I turn down alot of jobs
looked like you were trying to ring the bell at the carnival !!!!! lol
@@wf7183 lol 🤣 I'm not a good swinger lollll. Nailed that comment!!
They sheathed that roof with lasagna. Wtf?
Lol 😆 Romen can't fix that!!
You said there was 120v between the two hots. If one of the hots was loose I’d expect to see 0v there. So I’m guessing that the one hot is actually shorted to neutral. That way it’s conducting the power from the other hot to neutral giving you 120v.
Yea definitely lost a leg
If the meters are smart and the failure is on the supplier side then they should automatically report the issue. This is in contrast to a failure on the sub panel which is invisible to the meter.
That's a good point 👉, ur totally right !! I never thought of that. I'm sure they are notified when the meter goes down. But I'm sure they are so over whelmed
Is there anyway to get ahold of you? I’ve just been wanting to ask some questions about pricing and your experience, I’m starting up my own handyman gig and I’ve made about 5,000$ but I would just like a little bit more guidance please, names Dyllan in from Ohio
I always pour a couple gallons of water first will go right in 🤔
Holy crap, good Idea problem is I don't like working in mud tho
I need some of that blue stuff
A recent job I did was a fence with only 9 posts. One side, lovely driveway, second concreted side path. Could not cut driveway, and had be delicate with small holes on path. Snapped posts on all but one. And buried in 600mm concrete. The jackhammer got a working. All I could think is soldier on. Its not going to fix itself. Looked great when finished. It just took extra time.
That Sounds really tough!
