Hi Andri, it's so sad when shops start closing down in shopping centres, especially when they used to be a lovely place to visit. I don't think I finished watching the Dior video! I started it but didn't really know what the scandal was about, so I went looking ... and then probably got waylaid and then went and did something else - sorry! I have never thought of Tamara as an influencer. She is a paided advertisement person. She is going to play her engagement and wedding to exhausting endurance to make every $ off of it. She buys Birkins and Chanel for herself. BUT SHE ADVERTISES OTHER BRANDS. I don't believe anything that comes out of her mouth.😂

I think Tamara is the most fake of all the influencers. Although I query the word “influencer” as most of them put me off buying anything! I love you because you are relatable, down to earth and chat and give your opinion, not show off half a dozen new (usually free) bags in every video ❤️

I think there are so many choices when deciding to purchase a new bag. I love Coach and some Donney and Burke bags . We can do a lot better with our money by purchasing a middle level brand which is great quality . Great discussion Andri

Hi Andri, this is a very interesting conversation. However, I would say that you don't need an 'excuse' for buying your beloved designer bags - you could afford them, you love them, end of story!😊 I think that yes, people nowadays are more aware of labour conditions and sustainability, and if brands are not scoring highly in these categories, then hopefully more people will think twice before buying them, even if they can afford those prices. For the rest of us, there are many under-the-radar brands and smaller companies that make bags and other fashion items - to me, it's more interesting to have something cool that is not so well known! T.x

HI Andri, that's such a shame about your olive trees. However, there are olive trees in Greece (and, I'm sure, elsewhere too) that are hundreds if not thousands of years old, so I'm sure they will survive to come back another day! Your garden at home, on the other hand, is looking splendid! It must be so nice to have a plateful of stuff that you've grown yourself. Because we were away at the start of the planting season here (and are going away again in late September!), we only have one tomato plant in a container and another two with some basil - so far, they are looking good. I must admit that I just don't go for fantasy novels, but it sounds like you are really enjoying this one! Happy reading! T.xx

At this stage of my life I want luxury. I couldn’t afford it when I was younger. But the prices are insane so I just don’t go crazy. Going to California next month and I want to buy a St Louis black Goyard tote. My husband says it’s ugly and cheap looking 😂.

Andri, you are right to state that it is about the feeling you get when buying the bag. Do I believe the stories brands sell us or do I face the harsh truth? Why is it so hard to trust our own judgment and use everything we already own?

I really hope other luxury brands like Louis Vuitton aren't pulling this awful stuff too.

I ordered the book when I asked you about it on Instagram. Yet to read as I'm reading one by Jane Fallon, my daughter was not so impressed as she thought it was tacky. 🤔 I guess you see things differently at 15! As a young mother I started with the low-mid range bags. I was in no way able to purchase the luxury bags. I am now able to but the prices have gotten ridiculous. There are a few bags that I feel are missing in my collection but just on principle I feel like I cannot justify spending those crazy amounts. I still use my mid range bags though-to work and for errands. There is always a time and place for a certain bag😂high or mid. x

Andre, this is my opinion on all this. We are in hard times. Everything is crazy expensive rent, groceries etc. I live in America, so I can't speak for the rest of the world, but inflation is out of control. I am sure there are many people still dreaming of louis vuitton, Dior, etc. But the price! They have always been expensive, hence the fact they are luxury. But they were obtainable. Not only for the rich. With inflation and luxury always going up in price, how do you justify spending that kind of money? Tiffanyandco silver jewelry is getting out of control, too. I could go on. Mid range hand bags like Coach are gaining popularity because they are still obtainable and the quality is there.

I came to an interest in designer bags quite late in life, so I only have one bag, a Fendi Peekaboo. My go-to bags are Coach and Dooney & Bourke. I can't justify $10,000 for a single bag. I do like brands like YSL and Celine so I could see purchasing from those brands.
