What you said at the end about there being some kind of trail to show you where your product originated from and the journey its taken to get from A-B, that is a good idea, but and its a big but. We would then need to look at everything else we purchase from clothes - cleaning products - medication - mobile phones - computers - diamonds - food etc
Yes, you are exactly right. When it comes to money, every one their big fat mitts in it. Drug companies are one of the worst. Money is the root of all evil❤❤
But it would be a start with these high end brands that are charging the unjustified thousands ❤️

Rightly said, it’s all about where you are in life and what you like. I had mid range when I was younger with small kids. Now I like my LV bags but I’m very intentional about what I buy. The Dior scandal will only make me be more selective on where I spend my money. I wanted the Dior slides but not anymore :(

As a young mother I started with the low-mid range bags. I was in no way able to purchase the luxury bags. I am now able to but the prices have gotten ridiculous. There are a few bags that I feel are missing in my collection but just on principle I feel like I cannot justify spending those crazy amounts. I still use my mid range bags though-to work and for errands. There is always a time and place for a certain bag😂high or mid. x

I do buy mid range bags for totes & beach bags. I put water bottles, food, wet stuff in them. I don't want to ruin a high end bag. Sun screen is just awful on beach bags.❤

I think there are so many choices when deciding to purchase a new bag. I love Coach and some Donney and Burke bags . We can do a lot better with our money by purchasing a middle level brand which is great quality . Great discussion Andri

I have a celine medium box bag. It is a fabulous crafted bag. I pet mine, yes i do.

I am happy with some mid-range to use alternatively to my higher end bags since depending on where I am going I don't always want to use an expensive bag - plus, I'm currently looking for a black soft leather crossbody that would be good for many occasions and especially travel - Bee just showed a Toteme Clutch with a cross body strap that is gorgeous, and is a bit above Mid-range but a bag I wouldn't hesitate to carry anywhere. Last Winter I was wanting a pale pink bag to match a coat - and for such a narrow use of a bag, I went with a Kate Spade since the price was good , matched the coat and wasn't a big expenditure of cash for a bag I won't wear often. To me any bag no matter what the price range needs to make me happy to carry it or it'll sit in the closet unloved.

I came to an interest in designer bags quite late in life, so I only have one bag, a Fendi Peekaboo. My go-to bags are Coach and Dooney & Bourke. I can't justify $10,000 for a single bag. I do like brands like YSL and Celine so I could see purchasing from those brands.
I had a ysl bag and the side wanted to tip in, so I sold it while it was still popular. I have 1 Celine bag, the craftsmanship is exquisite. I am still pining for a pair of Celine sunglasses.😂
The Fendi Peekaboo is gorgeous.
I love my YSL college bag and have used it lots without any problems.
£10000 is a ridiculous amount for a bag and yes very hard to justify ❤️❤️
Andre, this is my opinion on all this. We are in hard times. Everything is crazy expensive rent, groceries etc. I live in America, so I can't speak for the rest of the world, but inflation is out of control. I am sure there are many people still dreaming of louis vuitton, Dior, etc. But the price! They have always been expensive, hence the fact they are luxury. But they were obtainable. Not only for the rich. With inflation and luxury always going up in price, how do you justify spending that kind of money? Tiffanyandco silver jewelry is getting out of control, too. I could go on. Mid range hand bags like Coach are gaining popularity because they are still obtainable and the quality is there.

I buy whatever I want, luxury or not but I do always go back to my luxury bags

I feel exactly the way you do. I only by a bag about once a year. I just replaced a mid range bag, had 45 years. Because of sunscreen. Wow, what a challenge.❤

Hi Andri, this is a very interesting conversation. However, I would say that you don't need an 'excuse' for buying your beloved designer bags - you could afford them, you love them, end of story!😊 I think that yes, people nowadays are more aware of labour conditions and sustainability, and if brands are not scoring highly in these categories, then hopefully more people will think twice before buying them, even if they can afford those prices. For the rest of us, there are many under-the-radar brands and smaller companies that make bags and other fashion items - to me, it's more interesting to have something cool that is not so well known! T.x
The recent drama with Dior and other fashion houses has certainly opened up my eyes .

At this stage of my life I want luxury. I couldn’t afford it when I was younger. But the prices are insane so I just don’t go crazy. Going to California next month and I want to buy a St Louis black Goyard tote. My husband says it’s ugly and cheap looking 😂.
I think if it makes you happy and can afford it absolutely get it .
There’s bags I have that my husband doesn’t like but it’s not him that’s wearing them 🤣❤️
