- In this video I will be discussing the shocking news around one of the factories that produced Dior bags and that a Dior bag that costs €53 to make is sold for €2,600 .
My perspective will be coming from someone who was brought up in the rag trade .

I buy certain brands because i love quality. I have not bought as much because the fashion houses have gotten too greedy. There bags have sky rocketed in price. An Hermes shawl was $700, it is now $1,300. So Andri, i quit wasting my money. I will use what i have and wear them out. Chanel was $4000, now $12,000 with tax. This is outrageous. If we keep buying, they will keep raising prices. It is a greed thing, as with all dealings with money.

I enjoyed hearing about your father it was a excellent way to talk about what happened with Dior. Dior is responsible for every step made in their items and no way they never stepped foot into one of these places and saw what was going on. They obviously turned the other way all for the big bucks.

Well said Andri. I am no longer craving these overpriced items made in this type of way. Just not worth it anymore. Unfortunately the day of the artisan is ending and we are not getting what we paid for. Very troubling information and food for thought.

We used to buy designer for quality. There was a time that a name meant quality and fine craftsmanship.😢
I think it's common knowledge that "fashion" has been outsourced to less expensive countries and that keeping a step in Italy or France, for example, allows the "made in" designation. We know the markup is huge for anything "designer." That being said we do expect brands to be accountable and vet their vendors and their working conditions. It's sad that this is still happening in 2024. 👜

This scandal was in Italy with two Chinese companies based in italy
Also, they got immigrants who sadly, are willing to be exploited in sweatshops that are not affiliated to law enforcement in those countries known for their heritage of doing all these products. The world is changing
I am totally sick of the lying youtubers. You are real and wear your real bags. Your not selling them all the time to make room for all the multiple new ones. There are youtubers pretending to buy a bag or 2 every single with. Then even 4 or 6 slgs. This is insanity.

Well most of my bags are high quality. I have one low quality bag, Coach. I bought my last birkin about 4 years ago, excellent quality. I have Gucci handmade bags, superb quality. Chanel classic flaps, they look like new. I used to make all my own clothing, so i know construction and good quality. Now they are running sweat shops, just awful. BUT I WOULD LIKE YOU TO ADDRESS A BIGGER PROBLEM. There are a bunch of youtubers paid to flat out lie about products. I see it alot. They make comparisons about bags they don't even own.

I am trying to not watch these people. They keep showing up on my home page. I was looking for a green hermes shawl to go with my emerald. Then a youtuber showed up telling everyone that Coach is better than Hermes. The chanels are taken over by Companies paying for people to promote their products. I find this irritating. Also salesperson lie to sell products. BUYER BEWARE
Not to miss lead you, i have a few totes for different purposes. A older Coach tote for needlepoint the corners of the bottom have colapsed. I have a Brook Brothers tote, older that looks like new. Then my least expensive tote Duluth Pack, guaranteedfor life. I had it for 45 years. It looked perfect and endured heavy wear, until i tried to clean spf out of it. My fault. The Coach cost the most and doesn't look has nice. I also have a black Prada, dressier tote. It has held up fabulous and the leather is like butter.@@ItsOnlyWarPaint

I know many many people who have studied, worked with brands on the materials, price, design, manufacturing and more, and teach students about brands, and luxury brands aren’t a scam at all luxury brands make very little profit when it comes to they’re clothing and the materials, craftmansship, testing, designing, research, and more cost way too much to make
