This is a fun portable classroom record player I purchased from RadioTVPhonoNut. I wanted a player for some time that I could easily box up and put under the bed or in a closet. I only need it to play one old 45 record and to record some talking book records on the USA's Moon program. Then I can get those books to mp3 and share. Also it would be nice to play some old music once in a blue moon i...

Alex first right last summer 2017 on my old motorcycle from I had in High School. I has sold it to a farmer 23 years ago when I moved from North Dakota to Arizona. He mostly just left it in the back of a barn so my son Alex bought it back for the same price as I sold to 23 years ago. So Cool. It should be fun restoration project.

HF equipment is expensive???? Lol. Look into old equipment. I spent $50. In the late 90's for an old swan and got on those bands for about $60 total. Ok. I'm talking about 1990. But. Getting on HF is actually cheaper today than it was back then. I even did digital ff my swan 500. Learn to be a ham
I just found a grandfather clock someone was throwing away, and decided to dumpster save it, this video just earned you a subscriber
Are the reeds or wreaths?
Damn Todd, I thought I was the only crazy one to do this. I did mine but it was inside the right index finger. My approach was different though. I did mine from the top straight into the wart. I also went deep on it. But on the way into it I kept moving the iron in small circles. I got to say that it was dang sure painful but I didn't get that big blister like you had. And mine was healed in about three weeks and was healed. I don't think I could have done it without by buddy though. Jack Daniels help me get it done by saying, You Thirsty? 😉 🍸🍸 By the way, It feels good after it quits hurting.
Butchered by ignorance and stupidity
Try this to install the chains: . Leave one end of the chains with a hook and remove the attached at the other end. Drop the hook-end into place and lay the other end onto the sprocket. Then turn the sprocket with the upper end of the chains going inwards.
Hey ToddFun I have a question. Any idea why my Dewalt DCR028 Bluetooth radio only turns on when it wants to? I opened it up and everything looks good( I understand that doesn’t always mean anything). Any ideas on what I can check for? Thanks for any help and great video!
You can hammer that bent rim back out.
From another part of world but very thankful! Very useful and learned something new.
Maybe just flip the dipswitch next to the keyboard from FDX to HDX and the keyboard should display on the screen
How to hange the pendulum
I never understood how the tape always comes from a smaller radius and always comes back on a larger radius and stays even. It seems like it should either loosen or tighten circling around at uneven speeds. I still don't get it.
Thank you so much !!
im trying to find out and learn how to clean a urgos UW03038B (also newer version UW03083) 9 Tubular Bell Clock Movement, drum and cable style has a bunch of small silver gears on lower front side, not sure how those time together, cant really find any videos on them
Because of your video, you saved us several hundred dollars to get someone to come out and put the center chain back on! We were able to do it ourselves!!!
any idea of the speaker size?
Thank you soooo much for sharing this! I restrung my clock all by myself! So proud 💕
I have 3 cds stuck inside a Panasonic 5 disc stack system version that broke down today, with one CD quite valuable & rare. More concerned about safe extrication of the discs tgan keeping the player working at this stage, but with no mechanical experience it's a bit daunting! I may try unscrewing some screws to see if I can in any way access them inside. As they say, nothing lasts forever. I suspected it was getting close to the end of its life when the random choice play stopped working, which involved a lotvof disc-changing.
See grandfather clock from germany prior to 1969.
very helpful … but at least on my clock you do NOT need to take the chains apart or open the links to refeed the chains over the sprockets … if that were necessary then the chains would never have come off in the first place
I do have some questions. My clock weight barrel 2 is 8.4 lbs, and one is 13.4 lbs. If I put 13.4 pounds in the chime, it works, but 8.4 pounds does not work in the clock mechanism. But if I put 13.4 pounds in the clock mechanism, it works. How can I fix this problem? Please help.
Genius thanks
Todd, what are your thoughts on soaking the entire mechanism in a tub of petrol as part of the cleaning process? And using 0W-30 synthetic engine oil, or even shaver oil?
I've had bent steel rims and the tire shop was able to repair it I don't know how they did it but I'm assuming they just bent it into it's normal shape.
It would've been nice if you had shown the middle chain install from the side. At least a still shot of it.
Thanks for your video 🙂
Are you still alive todd?
Yup
Chiming in on an 8 year old video... I had quite a few finger warts about 15 years ago. I managed to remove them myself by heating up a pocket knife with a lighter (red hot!!) and putting the flat of the blade on the warts. My fingers blistered up quite badly, I had to put bandaids on my fingers (I chuckled at your choice of music for this reason.) Up to 2 weeks later, my fingers had healed and I've had absolutely no issues with warts ever since. You don't need a soldering iron, kids. Just put a red hot blade on em and it'll do the trick
Nice job!
Thank you! This was super helpful!!! 😉👍
How do you line up the dial face with the movement gear, I attempted to put face on but it binds.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I also have a missing strap and will be using your mod measurements to make one. :) I ordered the same 1/8-inch socket you used for the headphone mod. Because I'm not an electronics guy, I can see where the wires are soldered on the socket, but I'm not sure where the wires end up on the radio end? It looks like you might have spliced your red wire to the orange one on the radio going to the speaker? But where do the 2 yellow wires end up, please?
If you’re here in 2024 like me. I used I 1/2 drill bit to increase the diameter of the housing holes and was able to use a magnetic extension with a T25 bit on those housing torx screws 2:16
You should check out Loctite603. Amazing stuff and uneffected by oil. Just thought I'd say. Excellent video.👍
Merci beaucoup ! 😊
Todd grew a pandemic beard before the pandemic even started? Intriguing...
Awsome tutorial with valuable information. I'll be using on my 98 5.9er, thank you kindly sir, sub for sure!!
Thank you so much for creating these amazing videos! I have been given a grandfather clock that my great grandfather built, so it's been amazing to have it running again! Do you have any tips on how to get the hour to chime on the hour and not a minute past? Each other chime line up perfectly with no issues. It is just the hour that is slightly off. This is the first time it has been running in over 40 years.
normally the hour hand is just press fit. When it chimes take off the minute hand and pull off the hour hand and press it back on on the hour. if it’s the minute hand that is off take it off and use a pliers to gently turn the nut on the back of the minute hand to correct pointer. the nut is normal pressed into a rotatable bracket if some pressure is used with a pliers. but if you say it’s ok pointing at 15,30,45 the that process will mess things up.
I understand and I may just leave it then. It is the minute hand that is a minute past before it chimes the full hour. Your videos have been a great help! I'm working on cleaning up and setting up a second movement that needs some care. This has been so fun and rewarding to do.
I have read about using a 50/50 rinse of xylene and mineral spirits sometime after the soak/wash. Is that necessary? Is it before the water, or instead of the water? I wondering about the fumes and heat source.
Pulling my hair out with E02 error code..have done all the flow sensor, replace impeller in pump, change filter, stand on head , was loading the 38 when I found this and appreciated one more idea
You are great! Thanks.
Good job explaining 👏
Soaking the entire movement in Mineral Spirits for a couple hours is very effective for dissolving the dried oil in the pivots/bushings. Then rinse the movement with hot tap water.
I can’t get this part anymore unless I spend 500 bucks time for a new washer
I have a question. I know this is an old video but it was helpful. Installed distributor on 2001 Dodge Ram 5.2L. Lined everything up perfectly, started it up first time and it starts up perfect, however when I go to shut off the truck, and go to restart, now it cranks with no start. I’m on aftermarket distributor number 2, made sure hold down plate and bolt were secured properly before starting. What could I possibly be missing here?
Two and a half minutes in and still waiting for the test to start. C'mom man.
Extremely informative. Many thanks . A job well done. Thanks Todd.
