We are a family of DIY'ers! Mom is a traveling healthcare professional and dad full time homeschools the boys. We vlog and photograph our adventures and lessons traveling coast to coast and border to border. We are currently restoring a 1979 52' Irwin Sailboat. This is a massive boat restoration project and we are learning how to do it as we are doing it every step of the way! We love fishing, hiking, sailing, biking, building, swimming, exploring, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, and so much more everywhere we go! We love parks, trails, beaches, waterfalls, mountains, oceans, wildlife, and nature! Living in an RV, homeschooling on the road, reviewing every new location we experience. Building a Homestead Episode 2 Manufactured Home Delivery and Setup
We are all in and moving forward now! The manufactured home (aka: pre-fab home, mobile home, trailer, double-wide) we chose is what they call a "Lot Model". This just means that we chose one that has been at the dealer site being toured by folks that are pondering purchase and other options. There are definitely pros and cons to getting a Lot Model. One of the biggest considerations for us is the immediate availability of the home. We didn't have to wait for it to be constructed.
Delivery of a double wide comes with some challenges!. As the name suggests, it is coming in two pieces and needs to be transported and maneuvered that way. In our case, it got very difficult when they got the halves to our actual residential road. Swinging the pieces in and clearing all the trees, signs, fences and other obstructions took some skill! But, through all the obstacles was a wonderful outcome.
The delivery and setup company and crews were well equipped with a dozer and a larger skid steer! After building the pad and leveling the area they brought in the pieces and set them up. Using composite pads and cinder blocks the leveled and balanced the home and then hurricane strapped it all down securing the home with anchors. It was great to learn so much about this process!
The home is in and the trim guy is getting the interior buttoned up!

Talk to me Goose!!!!!!!!! What’s going on now? Update?????
Trying to figure out a way to get the boat up here closer to us so we can continue the restoration. Probably best to finish the bottom job and thru-hulls, install the motor and steering, splash it in Tampa and cruise it up here to a close spot we can finish the inside and everything else with it in the water.
Is your home considered "permanently attached"?
Yes. It is in the state of Florida.
So is the sailboat dream over?
Never!! Just trying to figure out how to get to it or it to us from or to our current location.
Wish I seen this 6yrs ago. Great job and good recourse but you guys must have been high as a kite 😂🎉
Nope. No huffing highs going on around here. 😂
I have a 52 for the last 20 years and have sailed many miles - great boat and very comfortable can motor at max 9 knots and have sailed with just headsail and mizzensail at 7.5 to 8.0 knots in 18 - 20 knots of wind
That’s outstanding!!! We can’t wait!!
It was super wholesome when you said, “you know what I mean son?” Bad ass dad moment
I live for those moments!! Thanks for joining us!!

What happened to the boat?
Nothing. Still working on it. Just had to get the land base worked out real quick.
What happened to the boat build ????????!!!!!!!!!!
Guess they're gonna have to change the channel logo to a mobile home and scrap the sailboat logo. We'll, I'm out. Peace guys
We will be moving the boat here to finish it.
Still working on the boat. Just had to bump this project up and get it done before circling back to the restoration.

We are prepping to either splash the boat and continue the rest of the restoration afloat or trailer it to this property and finish it here on the homestead.
@TheAzimuthAdventure *_ Greetings and hope the New Year gets better than the start. We will try very hard to give more steady shots. Thank you very much for the constructive advice. We are always trying to do better.
Hay jim here what happened to the boat project ???
@@theazimuthadventure2138 *_ Perhaps invest in a Handheld Gimble which will keep the camera/phone in a horizontal/vertical pos. _*

where have gone ?
We are all okay. We are developing a piece of property and it has taken all our time. We miss the boat and are hoping to be back at it any day!
It may only be an 80hp D-series Ford but you really should have 6 not just 3 bolts holding the driveplate onto the flywheel. Also we fit a glass bowl onto the first CAV 7111-296 fuel filter mounted onto the engine so you can see any dirt or water that makes it thru your primary filter. Also invest in replacing the rubber hoses with silicon ones. You never need to undo the injector pipes at either the injector pump or the injectors to get any 4 or 6cylinder D-series Ford running. Bleed the pump at the front only bleed screw. Pop the cold-start or excess fuel button then crank the engine and the engine will fire up within 3 to 4 revolutions. Been rebuilding these engines and their injector pumps and injectors for 40 years now on all Fords from 40hp to 375hp plus.
This is some great information!! Thank you so much for the help!! We really appreciate you!!!
Yeah, I saw that he opened the wrong bolts too. Just those 2 front bleed bolts on the fuel pump needed to be cracked and she would have fired right up.
Did I miss a bunch of videos?
We hope not!
You all coming back?

@@theazimuthadventure2138 I wanted to say a little more. I use to follow a vet like myself here on YT. He paid 5K for a 35’ Coronado He made repairs and I noticed he was here in Melbourne Fl. I offered any assistance he needed or bring him a couple beers. We followed him to (Key West) A trip I’ve always wanted to do. Where he just disappeared! Fell off the planet. No goodbye no nothing. Something Starship. Then I was following a couple sisters. Again dropped off the planet. Then there was LaVagabonde, they became way to commercialized. They spoke of coming to Miami for a meet and greet with a dinner. Ha $100.00 a plate! Ha. Odd Life Crafting worked on a sailboat that was neglected for 20 years. I think they took about 2 years to rebuild. Yacht was beautiful. Already sold that one and rebuilding another Yaba rebuild from the keel up. Also been about 2 years. Hopefully splash soon………. Then my favorite. Sailing Good, bad and ugly. Bought a $5000.00 sailboat and headed south in Florida. I’ve followed them for about 4 years. Why? Because they are living a life I want but can’t have. I’m 62. Retired military. I got messed up in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. Anyway gbu did a refit. I’m taking notes all the time bought t-shirts and decided I’ll be a Patreon. In the end out of the blue, “we’re done, tired of this and that bought property in Puerto Rico I think. I never saw that coming. So I thought “ wow was this all a lie?” We’re they just saying stuff to get your money? I was devastated. Like I told them “ if I want to see green vegetation I’ll just step out in my back yard. I didn’t crash I fell hard on my face. Yeah they promised a meet and greet but stopped sailing before that happened, I know things change……… I guess I put my dreams into them. I do still follow Delos. And you guys came along and for some unexplained reason also just quit as far as we knew. So that’s my story I guess. So welcome back. I hope your family is well and I hope your dream is still alive. Respectfully
Wow! Great progress! I’m finally caught up with your videos. Hope all is well! We head back to Arbor Terrace in November… I’ll give you a call and hope to visit you all then! Stay safe and enjoy your adventures!!
Hey!! Great!! We will see you soon!!
60 grit is pretty aggressive, probably could have been careful with 180 and painted over the last layer.Without priming, you never tilt your sander while sanding thats why you have all those little spots that are down to the gelcoat.Good luck with what you are planning next👍
Thank you.
Come on guys please at least tell us what’s going on. We’d all like to know. Thank you

How are you doing?
We are doing great! Another episode is coming soon!
Hello, juste a question, did you check the gap of the rings before?
Yes. We sure did! Thank you!!
Prep is the most important part of painting. You need to fair all the cracks and fill. Use progressively less grit the apply the primer in two coats then re-sand. Alexseal was used on our hull three months ago. It is a more forgiving paint than AwlGrip as it can be touched up and buffed - 2 coats.
Thank you for the excellent advice. We appreciate it very much.
Any new videos? What’s going on with you guys?
Hey!! Sorry about the break these last few weeks. We have been side tracked getting our property straightened out. More videos are coming very soon!!
