I mostly read fantasy books, historical murder mysteries and gay stuff, so my list includes: *Belgarath the Sorceror* by David Eddings, *Caverns of Kalte* by Joe Dever (part of the 80s/90s gamebook boom), *One Corpse Too Many* by Ellis Peters (the Brother Cadfael series) and the *Heartstopper* comics by Alice Oseman. 🙂

We don't intersect a lot in what we read, but i love watching your videos! A recommendation for a podcast style true crime book is Penance by Eliza Clark. Blew me away, thought it was done so well!

Hi Georgia , this is a really lovely video. Ive turned 60 now but in my head im still in my 20’s and remember my dad reading Enid Blyton books to me as a little girl. My dad died 20 years ago and hearing you speak of your dad reading to you brought back some lovely memories. x

i also loved last night at the telegraph club!! the sapphic/historical combination is one my fave types of books too - i HIGHLY suggest cantoras by caro de robertis if you haven't read it already!! it follows the intertwined lives of five queer women during the uruguayan dictatorship and is just absolutely STUNNING. also happy birthday!! 🥳

I love Roald Dahl books! I reread a bunch of them last summer because I went to the Roald Dahl museum in Buckinghamshire, which was really cool - they’ve preserved his writing hut where he wrote a lot of his classics.

Lisa Jewells none of this is true is told through both a podcast and snippets of a netflix documentary!!

I feel like it would make a really interesting video to reread your favorite childhood books and reflect on it. If you planned on rereading them anyway, Im so interested in Lola rose and the mummy cat books

so many of these books would be on my list too - Jacqueline Wilson are *the* author of my childhood! I'd love to see a video of you rereading some of her books as an adult and remember some of the wild (but important!!) themes she talked about! If you ever read her Girls in Love series, there is an adult sequel coming out in the next few months and a review as a former reader could be a really fun video to watch!

oh wow I'm totally at that point where I'm afraid to say the words to my family but would definitely just confirm if they asked and they don't. and I'm pretty sure at least my parents are very much aware, but I feel like they're waiting for me to say it. but I probably only will if I'm ever in a serious relationship

I didn't come out as lesbian until I was 24, in 1997. The year before I found The Well of Loneliness in my college library and it changed my world. I had no idea there were characters like me in books. I saw myself in Steven Gordan. I was still in the closet and not brave enough to check it out, so I would hide it on the shelf and come and read it when I had time. Later, in grad school, I found Stone Butch Blues. I saw myself there also, though at the time, I thought it was because of the butch aspect. Now, as an out trans man, I see how much I relate to other aspects of the book as well.

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis The Tennant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë Paradise Lost by John Milton Tender is the Night by F.Scott Fitzgerald ( I know they are all classics but I do have a degree in English and still read the classics to this day)
