Create E Track Tie Downs For F150 2015 through 2023
There are many different tie down brackets for the Ford F150. Making your own flat plate E-Track brackets can be rewarding and provide a basis for snap in E-Track accessories like tie down rings, straps and tool and bucket holders and hooks. Also harbor freight has brackets for 2x4 wood load retainers. The metal used is 1/8" aluminum 6061. Four M6-1 screws are needed for each of four total brackets created. Ford doesn't tap the holes where the plates mount so you either have to use self threading M6 screws or hand tap threads into the blank nuts Ford installed.

    You've solved one problem, but created another. As the motor casing is a sealed unit, you'll need to include a breather, or another removable screw to allow for release of the pressure that will build up when you add grease. Other than that, it's a good work around for a pain in the rear process.

      Hello Derek! the case is not air tight as air escapes around the Crank/ Torque sensor. No pressure problem. The seal between the gear case and electronics also works adequately to keep grease out of the controller. Just don't use a powered grease gun and go wild!! ha ha. Ride safe!!

    too much grease I think will be hard for the motor, maybe a gear oil has less of a drag. Usually, the noise is coming from the slightly worn-out bearings. You hear less noise because the grease muffled the bearing noise. In my opinion.

      @filoncmike Před 5 měsíci

      Hello Mr Man! After thousands of miles on multiple motors, the cornhead grease works perfect! The amount of grease mentioned in the video seems also perfect as no grease has migrated into the controller cavity where gear oil as suggested by you will probably leak into that area. As for the grease slowing down the motor, be realistic, it is a light grease with a coefficient of friction of around .05. Ride safe!!

The China based support only responds through email. They take 1-2 days to respond. They just told me that I have to PAY to send the defective printer back to them! Really? Good companies don't do that. If you buy one of these things and it fails, you're screwed! Take some time to read their warranty information on their website. It's extremely vague. I got this thing as a birthday gift. I loved it until it failed. I wasn't using it in any way that could have broken it. I just printed some really nice stuff. I am offended that Mingda thinks it's OK to make me pay for shipping! That is a very shady business practice. I will be filing a complaint with the Texas attorney general's office. this kind of tire carrier is great. just drop the tire every year. to lube the unit. and check the tire for rd damage. but one must secure he spare from theft. those cheap stick locks do not work. way to easy to by-pass or just snap off. one needs DOT 1/2 in chain. and a large pad lock (better quality, not a master lock) that is not easy for a lock pick to get to. and a plate to protect the chain from being cut. and this even goes for the cheap one use half tire spares as the crooks sell them real fast.

    I dono how i ended up on this video but looking at this it's definitely not a good idea to add that much grease. There is no gasket inside the housing so you'll eventually start leaking grease into the electronics as some will break down. Never drill into a motor and leave shavings in there open it up drill your hole and add maybe 10 pumps to start with. Some motors make more noise then other that is fine. I would honestly do this modification on my own bike run it for 100 -250 - 500-1000 miles and then come back and post the video once you've identified that it will not cause issues!

    • @filoncmike
      @filoncmike Před 8 měsíci

      baba, I know it seems like a lot of grease, but i assure you after many thousands of miles and opening the motor up to check, no grease has migrated into the controller. There is a rubber grommet that separate the two chambers. If you drill first without grease then grease the drill bit for the final cut through, you shouldnt get any chips and when you tap the threads with greased tap no chips either with practice. BTW they are aluminum chips so they don't effect the gears if by some unknown miracle they migrate to the gears , the chips do no harm to the gears. ride safe and quiet!! 🚲😀

      @@zj4041 send a pic of your serial number on the bottom of the motor to greenbikekit.com or bafang and they will tell you. Good luck!!

    That is WAY too much grease in my honest opinion. Not removing the old grease, not great. Frankly you can remove the few screws on the cover, not that hard. This is gonna work, ofc its going to be silent, but the gears are going to fight and "swim" through the grease now. I would have stopped at like 30 pumps max. You did stop at 40, then video cut and you go "so i put 80 pumps in there". I could not hold a good chuckle. I am not a mechanic and maybe i am wrong, but those 80 pumps seem to be a LOT.

      Please don't take my comment badly man. Great idea. Let's just agree to disagree on the right amount of grease.

      Thanks Poma! re: not removing the old grease - since there is very little grease from the factory and little contamination occurs during operation, I would say that is not a factor. The idea for the video is that one can add a grease fitting in the perfect spot without removing the motor and easily grease their motor. I've removed and inspected the motor at least 5 times in my 5,000 mile hard driving journey and every gear and bearing is factory fresh. 80 pumps is not that much and just fills in the cavities without getting into the controller area. glad you got a good chuckle! 😀 ride safe!!

      So you don't have to take the motor apart every time you have to regrease. My Lekkie block for the BBSHD has one of these built in. Super nice feature.

    That is a big jump and fork length. Are you able to keep your front wheels down on climbs?

    • @filoncmike
      @filoncmike Před 9 měsíci

      3arrows - I really don't notice any rideability effects from the longer front fork. Your natural riding position seems to make up for it without thinking. i do notice the longer travel and elimination of pedal strikes!!

    how is it holding today? does it come loose again with the epoxy ? or not?

      Ok Carl. I just returned from a 16 mile rocky, hilly trail and it seems to be holding just fine. I think the key is to lube the bolt and wedge components and tighten it as tight as you can. It may take to people to get it tight. I epoxied it just in case , but maybe it was overkill!! 😀
