I was a FL native. I bought my first house in 2022. My wife and I decided to move to NC in 2023. We just sold the house in June. I’m so happy I was able to sell it and move on. Taxes, insurance and utilities were getting too damn expensive.

IMHO anyone buying anywhere in Florida today is overpaying no matter how big of s discount you or any other realtor negotiates off the asking price. As the recession deepens, prices will revert to pre pandemic. Not much different than what happened around 2008 when I got killed in southern California. Bought too high and had to get out at a price that was way less than I paid. Life goes on!

Moved to Florida over 5 years ago, absolutely love it, prices reflect supply and demand, this current administration has jacked up inflation so bad with funding all their bs wars, growing government and all their other nonsense, of course interest rates are high, look at the cost of vehicles, it’s ridiculous, anything is worth what someone is willing to pay, all these people crying about home prices, if these people crying had something in their possession they wanted to sell that was in great demand they would charge the maximum price for it as well

Home insurance prices are just a symptom. The real problem is climate change has made Florida too risky a place to live. If people are leaving Florida, that is a good thing! If we could move everyone out before Florida is underwater in 2100, that will be a blessing.
