Cutting down a Cuetec Cynergy shaft to make it shorter
zhlédnutí 32KPřed rokem
The customer wanted me to make his Cynergy shaft about 1.5 inches smaller and he also wanted a longer ferrule. At first I questioned him on why he would want this done. It would give him less reach on the table and destroy the re-sell value. But in the end its his cue and if this will make him play better who am I to stop him from having his Ideal cue. The original wooden threads on the shaft were ripped out and it was unable to be screwed together. I replaced it with linen phenolic as it is much stronger than the original wood threads. The cue is a Schmelke Break cue with a purple heart butt and shaft it has a 3/8-10 joint

That was fun to watch.
What type of lathe is this?
what glue do you use ?
Oh yeah I hear myself in the backyard 😂
Is that my old shaft?
Where can I buy this lathe?
Why make it shorter ?
Hi, How do you know how much you are cutting from the ferrule to make it flush to the wood shaft?
You wasted a tip....
Hey man im thinking of getting one of these lathes and all the tools sometime.. what is the lathe and the gear and also what is the liquid you use on the tip/ferule and what grit paper you use?
yo, have you got the space to spin butts on that?
where can i get this machine?
I was thinking about having one of these put on my wood shaft. Any thoughts to if that'd be a good or bad idea?
Not burning the tip side with leather?
That would be amazing if I could send you guys my cue to be tapped, recently purchased a cue from Cuetec and it is needing to be tapped for some reason. Trying to find someone to do it as I already bought the tap for the pool cue. This is amazing work!
Isn’t the 314 a wood shaft?
Kamui soft or medium?
SS on the sticker, so it’s a super soft
Kamui soft or medium??
What kamui soft med or hard?
Wow!! I want that!! 😊
Very nice detailed work.😊
How did this change the deflection?
Are you using a carbide cutting tool?
Hey! How can i get a ferrule for a Cuetec Cynergy 12.5mm ? Great work btw, keep it up!
why do the customer wanted a shorter shaft? for what purpose?
I have the same question. Maybe the player is a very short person?
How do you know its time to replace the tip?
Is this what you do for a living?
What cue lathe, glue used on tip,and what is tool called used to shave tip down after installation! Was that a sniper tip installed on shaft there?
Does installing a clear pad under the tip have a positive or negative impact on the cue's performance?
What lathe do you use
I would cut a glue release channel down the length. This would resolve the compression push back and not put so much stress n the shaft walls.
I just got the medium installed on my Cuetec Cynergy shaft today! I'm picking it up after work then going straight to the pool hall to try it out.
Do you do tip replacements for anyone who is in need of one?
Always try to keep the initial tip 1 layer up, height is small, due to so much cut
Hola como se llama ese pegante
You did an excellent job on the cue tip. However, this isn't a very helpful video without audio and options for people that don't have all the equipment you used for demonstration.
Nice having a ten thousand dollar lathe just to put on tips 😂
KO皮頭 💯台灣之光
That clear ferrule is so cool! But that cheap tip! Omg lol 😂 Why spend all that money for custom ferrule work and throw on a $5.00 tip? I was expecting a Kamui or something high end. Oh well, maybe the cue belongs to an old man. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ Still great work though!
Some players love that classic elk master tip 🤷♂️ Thanks for the kind words 😊
Love your videos, just getting into it myself, so I can do repairs on the wife and my cues when needed. Mind telling me where you source your ferrules and such? Thanks in advance, I appreciate you
Atlas supplies is a great online store for everything you need to build or repair a cue.
Sand the nipple on your tip work more it drives me krazy
Becue has wifi 😂
Wow, that was awesome! Anyone know of someone who replaces tips in Ft. Lauderdale, FL?
what machine did you use?
In spanish is called "torno" i don't know in english
It's a cue smith
Hi, Im wondering about the Cynergy's ferrule ? is it kinda "hollow" ? Could it resist hard massés ? Im asking because Im looking for a range of carbon low deflection shaft that would allow me to play both pool and balkine. Problem is : low deflection cues often have ferrules that should not be used to do hardcore massés like those we do in carom/balkline billiards. Revo could be the solution but the smallest cue they have are 11.8mm, it's quite big for carom.
All carbon fiber cues are thin and hollow, that's what it is a carbon fiber tube but filled with a foam that hardens of various density depending on the cue maker.
O que é esse material que você colou antes da sola?
Do you do butt refinished?
How long the lathe can make a cuestick
What did you used on min 18:37 that brings back the carbonfiber shine and burnish the tip. Thanks
Hi, I got a question, hopefully you can see ans answer sir. I see your blade cuts through the tip, then to the tip pad down to the ferrule. How do you know you are not cutting into the ferrule? How do you estimate how big or small you put your blade at the start?
