Predator Victory medium are my personal favorites. Just installed a Kamui Athlete for the first time yesterday. That would be a great video for a tip install. Great work and video as always!

I do have the Kamui athlete tips coming in soon. I will definitely have a video on that. Thanks for watching and for the comment 😃

Great skill my man. I do some repairs and retipping but only as a hobby. One thing is when you sand the back of the tip for a better glued contact use a figure 8 motion and this makes sure you get all the areas of the tip flat. I'm sure they are anyway but it's something I learned a long time ago when lapping small things. Great work very nice to watch. Well done.

Im sure you have done kamui clear replacements. I have stopped fitting them now as i find the pad and the tip separate and when i check for flatness on the both, they have a concavity to them and i believe it is leading to the failure. Ive done 8 of them and 6 cane back with the same problem. Maybe it the humidity in Thailand but never had it with any other padded tips. Maybe you know why this happens. I think you have forgotten more about cue repairs than I'll ever know so keep on keeping on mate.

I used to have some problems with Kamui clear tips piping off. Since I started sanding the back and scoring the ferrules with a blade. The pop offs have almost completely stopped.
      Thanks for the comment 😁

What is the difference in adding the black pad or the clear pad versus no pad between the tip and ferrule ?????

It's to protect the ferrule from the impact of hitting the ball. It also adds life to the ferrule for the next tip install. Since the ferrules have to be faced clean before the tip is installed. As far as the hit goes. I can't notice the difference between not having a pad, clear or black phanolic pads. Thanks for watching 😁

What is the name of the white part that is attached to the carbon arrow and where do they sell it?

Excellent video. How thick and what material is the black pad you used in this installation?

Do the tip pads actually do anything?

    • @arsbilliards

Not really. It gives it more life for the next time a tip is installed.

Worst cue tip. I've installed soft on my 10mm ash cue, never used for break and it's delaminated and cracked in 3-4 months. Frequently needed reshape also kept mushrooming. I've changed with kamui black ss. Since first 3 months only 2 times mushroomed little bit then i've fixed, since 10 months i'm using in same conditions. No delaminate, no mushroom pretty good with taom v10 chalk. Predator overrated low quality product. I also don't like their gloves.
