Would you care to tell me why you burnished, then shaped, then trimmed again, then burnished? Is there a reason for burnishing before shaping? I'm sure there is. You consistently do it that way. I'm trying to learn how to do work on a lathe myself.
have you had any problems with the ultraskin fire tips popping off? ive had really bad luck lately and my procedure is similar to yours. what kind of glue are you using?
sand the tip...apply thin CA to it... count to 10... dab off the excess.... hit it with accelerator ............ lightly sand........ install with CA gel
I install his black and ivory tips. Why are these called fire? Is it just because they're red or they hit completely different? Don't know if they come in different hardness ratings

I changed my process to just burnishing after trimming 😁

Locktite gel control is my glue of choice. I've only had bad luck on some cheaper graphite cues that I think we're PVC.
