One frog was not so lucky and is no more, but this one came over and has settled right in ...

I apologize for the quality of this video, but I still had to share it. Had a host of issues, but finally got it sorted enough to post something. If it doesn't flower before June - prune. Gotcha! Thanks!
that's awesome! so do the plants still grow fine and get big and not bothered by the gofers?
Just wait 10 minutes they will be back alive again
I thought that Group 1 clematis were multi - bloomers, that can flower a few times in a year, at various times, so if one of these, blooms in July/August, then is it OK to prune this, despite the possibility of it having bloomed before June ?
Wow so beautiful planting nice share 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
Oops, I just pruned mine last week! It’s well established over 8ft tall. Hopefully it comes back next year lol
This is the best one I’ve seen so far!! They must still taste the same as you feel them by hand I prefer. Thanks can’t wait to try it 🎉
Anything with Monty, love love.. thanks
What if they are not consumed immediately? I am living alone can't eat all at once so I would like to store them in freezer for future use.
That's mating also
Hi,Nice job, you have a nice garden. Thanks for your ideas, Just for who need SEBOSS hardware cloth,1/2,1/4 opening ,19 GA, Hot dip galvanized after welding, double galvanized, strong and sturdy, delicate and beautiful, suitable as gopher wire, protect lawn/garden from all kinds of gophers.
This is SO good to know
Do dog roses climb up a trelis or arbor?
Voles got through the 1/2' holes in hardware cloth I used. It takes 1/4" holes to deter voles.
If I take a cutting from a climbing rose, will the new plant also be a climber, or will it be a bush? i have a Gertrude Jekyll climbing rose. Thanks.
WhAt are you doing?
peeling chestnuts
I wonder how many cutting took… do we know is there an update to this?
Is this in the UK?? In Canada winter goes down to -35 Celsius. I'd think you may need a greenhouse to see them over winter.
👍Thumbs up
Thank you! Cheers!
The first plant is not lavender !
Very informative Video. Now i can give more care for my Clematis collections.
Hello thanks for your comments and support I really do appreciate❤️
I did it myself. I used Woodglut woodworking plans for this.
I can see how much help this would supply for the main plant. Do you any ideas about how I might keep the voles from tunneling up and eating squash, watermelon, etc. as it vines along ontop of the ground? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Don't know if you still need help Mary Ann. You should consider getting your food off the ground and onto a trellis, then apply netting when fruits ripen. Also when digging out a grow bed put hardware cloth down before adding soil to protect from underneath. Otherwise if these are not options for you then unfortunately you will have to kill them, I recommend the very efficient GopherHawk.
Thank you v much for the exact information that I needed for a long time about honey suckle flowering time read a lot of books of yours from British Library Bangalore India

@@OurGardenChannel ok
Can I do it with hybrid tea roses?
You can, but they are often much weaker on their own root, which is why they tend to be grafted to rootstock.
@@OurGardenChannel oh ok. Thanks
Wee tip....Please don't talk in months... Talk in seasons... you are making it more difficult for all your Southern Hemisphere subscribers to follow.... too hard basket trying to always convert in my head.... have gone to another channel that talks in seasons.. you are missing out on a whole lot of southern hemisphere subscribers .....
What you guys don't have months down there? 🤦♀️
I would like to know whether this method makes any sense if one lives in central Europe where the temperature can drop to 10 or 20 degrees below zero in winter.
It works in Missouri where the temps get down to -10F
wilod rose is the only rose to grow and the bees agree
I would like to know time frame when to do these jobs??? Nobody tells you that in their videos... 😤
November time
Look at the date of the video - November! The description box even says "Cuttings in the fall". Also, it's a clip from BBC Gardener's World, which is a weekly programme filmed live, so each episode focuses on the things to do *that week* in the garden. That's why he hasn't said as he assumes anyone watching will know - because it's now!
He IS a lovely man

I'm trying to grow clematis up a wall from pots on a patio but I'm unsure about what to do with them in the winter. I'm new to gardening but my plants are quickly becoming like my babies and I'm worrying about them already. Can anyone help and advise on how to care for them in the winter months.

Thanks for the video.. my dog rice cuttings is only vegetatively but not flowering at all since two years.. it receives direct sunlight for about 5 hrs.. can you please suggest me something.. thanks in advance
Thank you for the lovely rhyme, and very helpful tips. I have a very young clematis that I rescued last year at a end of season sale and haven't had the privilege to see it flower yet. It was in poor condition when I planted it last year. I hope it survived our harsh winter. I have the root area mulched with straw.

Thanks, big fan from Japan. Is Japan's March okay for planting cuttings? Or do I have to calculate the U.K. March temperature and find what month will it fit here?
I think we (UK) and Japan are on similar maritime temperate climates within the Northern hemisphere, but there is a difference between Cornwall (SW) and the Scottish highlands (not as big as the difference between Kagoshima and Wakkanai)
Bev Kay We go to our Botanical Garden several times a year. All I kept thinking about is how do they not have any critters & vermin eating the plants like moles & voles. So I asked them and the volunteer gardeners all hold up the wire cages you demonstrated in the video. They said that’s the ONLY thing that keeps the plants thriving. You did good young man. I recommend anyone wanting to plant and experience an issue, visit a botanical garden. It’s worth the price of the ticket to get expert advice and with a smile and appreciation they happily give it.
Where are the results?????
Too expensive and too much work. Check us out. www.TheRootArmor.com
What guarantee does this cover? Just the cage? Because I’m thinking they’ll chew through the plastic so if I buy a plant and it gets eaten using the cage I’m out the money of the expensive plant but the product to you is inexpensive to manufacture. There’s no reviews available but I’ll investigate on my own then decide. Thank you for letting us know you make something for plants. Have a nice day.
Thanks a lot
Excellent advice
