NORTH MACEDONIA | A Broken Agreement?
In May 2024, a diplomatic row broke out between Greece and North Macedonia when the new president of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, used the country's old name “Republic of Macedonia” during her inauguration. This was contrary to the terms of the Prespa Agreement with Greece-a peace deal crucial for ending a long-standing dispute over the name and for the country's EU integration prospects. As the Greek ambassador walked out from the ceremony, European Union officials stressed the agreement's importance and the potential repercussions of disregarding it. To this end, the recent actions by North Macedonia's president have raised concerns about the stability of this international peace agreement. So, could the Macedonian Government really be ready to abandon it?
The country, officially known as the Republic of North Macedonia, lies in Southeast Europe and has a diverse population of around 2.1 million. The wider region of Macedonia has a rich history that stretches from ancient times under Alexander the Great to Roman, Byzantine, Serb, Bulgarian and Ottoman rule. In 1913, the territory was divided between Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria. While the Serbian-held part joined the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, it became one of the six federal republics of Yugoslavia in the 1940s. This lasted until 1991 when it declared independence as the Republic of Macedonia. However, this provoked a thirty-year dispute with Greece, which contested the name. This saw the country admitted to the United Nations under a provisional name, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). In 2018, after decades of contention, the sides reached a settlement, the Prespa Agreement. This agreement renamed the country from the Republic of Macedonia to the Republic of North Macedonia and was crucial for its accession to NATO and its ongoing attempts to join the EU. But could the new VMRO-DPMNE government be about to challenge the deal?

Half truth a big lie, modern greeks promote only the half trurh about ancient macedonians there are de facto historic sources that prove that ancient macedonians are hellenized Thracian tribe . The Athenian leader Demosthenes call macedonians worst barbarians off all thracian tribes and the Athenian citizens approved his proposal to make a city state coalition against macs ( battle of Heronia) King aleksandar call general Filota to confess at Macedonian mother tongue when he asks translator's to confess at hellinistic. Before Phillip II there was 2 macedonian kingdoms having eternal hate and wars . Greeks have about 30 city state colonies at Macedonian kingdom all destroyed by king Phillip . At all thracian common languages the ending -Ia like Macedonia, Illir Ia , peon Ia , pier Ia Imat Ia ext ext means land or country it isn't greek word . The ancient macedonians became hellenophones by adopting the Attic language as official language of their kingdom , is like to call the Americans and Australians english people cause they use the emglish language today . Thats the Hole trurh , please stop the ethnic bullying by the greeks chauvinists against the ethnic macedonians today is tragic cause modern greece is foul of " slavic " names topomyms and hellenized Thracians " slavs" , analyze the term slav you can understand that the term became from the latinic word sclavinus at greek σθλαυοι - σ(κ)λαυοι = slaves was a term for their captivity and not term for nationality .

Greeks and Macedonians should grow up, it doesn’t matter if North Macedonia is called Macedonia 🇲🇰 And if we get historical about it, the Greeks regard Macedonians as Barbarians, were not considered Greeks. It's quite important to mention that when you talk about "the history of Macedonia", it means the history of the region Macedonia (not the country), which includes the territories in North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, potentially in Serbia and Albania as well. Furthermore, President Gordana instead of using "President of the Republic of North Macedonia", she said: "President of Macedonia", which is kinda concerning too.

Hey dude, what are you talking about: “North Macedonians are speaking south Slavic language”!?!? The language is Bulgarian, the name of the country is Greek. This country is Soviet communist creation. But “south Slavic language…” Sure, USA and Canada are speaking Western European language, how about that?

We are in a strange world of fake identities. The people who label themselves "Greek" arenot Greek, and the people who label themselves "Macedonian" are not Macedonian. "Greeks" are Rums of mid and east Türkiye, 95% are migrants from outside, éMacedonians" are simply Bulgar.

Northern Greece is a territory gifted to the Greek state by the British Empire and the French at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, The same powers helped Greece retain it after WW2. All in an effort to weaken Turkey and diminish Russia's influence in the region. How many thousands of Macedonians were forced to flee the territory that is now Northern Greece? Greek refugees from Asia Minor were settled there in their place.

Macedonia has been offered so many false promises by the EU and the west since 1991, in return to making all kinds of allowances that EU and the western interests demanded. In the meantime, all the EU and the western interests have done is gradually destabilize the country, divide the nation, create many political parties with opposing main values and goals, destroy the economy, rewrite the constitution and the laws, and worsen the relationships between Macedonia and all of its neighbors.

Robin James Lane Fox, is an English classicist, ancient historian. This is what he had to say : " Macedon is a Greek speaking Kingdom in northern Greece populated by people using Greek names, Greek months of the year , worshipping Greek gods. Those who live in Skopje and say that is Macedon and that is Alexanders homeland are as ignorant and outrageous as if someone was to say that Oxford University was really in Belarus" The video of him saying this is still on youtube for anyone wanting to view..

All of you who claim the Ancient Macedonians were anything but Greek make HOLLOW and TRIVIAL claims!

Russia also know that overstretching yourself is dangerous and also coming close to a NATO and EU member(Romania) is even more dangerous. If russia starts something against Moldova in this context, Romania is almost forced to also act in the view of Moldavan solidarity

Slovakia has the right to determine its relationship with Russia since it is a sovereign country. But they also have to realise that the invasion of ukraine by Russia is a red line in International law and that the organisation of which they are part of (the EU and NATO) have agreed that sanctions and measures against russia are needed in order to condemn this illegal invasion. If slovakia feels that this against their interest they are free to leave both organisations and go it alone. They cannot have the benefits from being a member but when push comes to shove they want to make up their own mind and actively undermine these organisations.
