So Light says he's new to the game and doesn't know what to do. Yet he knows how to make an armor in the specific crafting recipes for all the pieces? That's not something you know right off the bat.

He could say he broke the brewing stand without a pickaxe, destroying it rather than harvesting it. But the lack of a brewing stand would cause the cleric to revert to a jobless villager, unless he traded with the villager before doing so!
