Ash is Haruhi Suzumiya?
To be fair, Brock, after you’ve DIED, came back to life, fulfilled a prophecy, saved a mansion from alphabet soup sans soup, time traveled, been kissed by a Pokémon disguised as a girl, met a poké-genie, made first contact, healed an ancient tree with your ancestor’s familiar, found Atlantis, met the keepers of time and space, God, and Satan himself in that order… Things kinda blur together.
It bothers me that I know and have seen every movie you referenced, but i forgot all those details

Some days, I wonder how Ash did half the shit he did and STILL not become a Pokémon Master.
It's outrageous, it's unfair
He is one now.
Right? What did these pokemon masters go through?
I dunno, stopping Team Rainbow Rocket’s sinister plans and schemes?
Well, literally dying more than once must have taken its toll on him to be honest.
Brock must secretly be a legendary Pokemon himself to have somehow countered MewTwo erasing everyones memories.
To be fair, Brock was just a figment of their imagination
Mewtwo Returns has entered the chat
The mind wipe doesn't work if your eyes are closed 😂
"UUHM ACTUALLY...." Well actually there is a second Mewtwo movie that takes place in Johto where Ash meets Mewtwo again and Mewtwo restores the memories of Ash, Misty and Brock. But wipes that of Giovanni and Team Rocket, cause the whole movie is about Mewtwo losing to Giovanni and Ash having to save the day and keep Mewtwo safe. Then Mewtwo restores his power, mind wipes Giovanni and such.
The second time they meet Mewtwo in the special/movie "Mewtwo Returns he doesnt" erase the memory of their second encounter when they meet him in that mountain lake somewhere in Johto. At least according to the Dutch dub from what I can remember. They kinda state that only Team Rocket gets their memory erased but not Ash and friends. Been years though since I've seen it...Anyways during the whole meeting Mewtwo again thing Brock was there to. I dunno if the English dub states the same thing but Dutch dubs of anime tend to be pretty much direct translations of the English versions. If you dont know which special/movie I am talking about it's the one where Brock in the English version has the famous line; "I'll use my frying pan as a drying pan" which is kind of a meme in the fan community. Anyway, if I am wrong feel free to correct me, like I said I havent seen it in years since my only copy of the dutch dub "Mewtwo Returns" is on VHS and well you know how ancient that tech is...
One TINY little nitpick here. The Viridian Joy fixed Misty's bike and gave it back to her after Johto. Ash didn't owe Misty a bike after that
Did she specifically want Ash to get her a new bike, or did she just want a replacement bike in general?

Yo Misty hiding at the end like "please don't disappear me" was the best part of this.
Misty knows how to keep his mind off the (probably) stressful things by talking about the more chill times. Pity Brock didn't have enough survival instinct.
You don't get in the way of someone that call alter time and remove you from it
Can't believe Brock was merely just a figment of their imaginations.
Was that a bad time for Brock to blast off again?
Nah, Ash was just fucking tired of his shit and bringing up traumatic memories so he just willed him out of existence. Remember, he's a wizard.
Who is this Brock? In the video I can see pictures with no one in them while Ash is talking to himself in a weirdly normal voice. You guys have crazy imagination if you really think there is a guy with eyes made of literal lines in the video.

Don't even get me started on the Mystery Dungeon games...
I love Ash telling Brock that its been years and he can't remember all the things he's ever done but then Misty comes in with "Boat" and Ash instantly relives this random ass boat memory

Ash traded Butterfree, his first caught Pokemon with a Ratata and almost lost chance to see it again, Team Rocket grunts attacked the boat but a storm hit the boat as it sank to bottom of the ocean. All of that happened in two days.
It was one bullshit after another
@@aaronkasarion8144 that sounds like a nightmare of 2 days right there. No wonder "boat" brings out memories of it.
Now I understand why Ash never ages.
That's his immortal form; he'll change it when he feels like it.
Ash is a human form of one of the million hands of Arceus
I like how while Brock is obsessing about the crazy shit that happened, what Ash actually remembers about his journey is the smaller moments between him and his friends where they had good times together. To him, what really matters are the things they did together and the fun they had, not the epic events where they fulfilled prophecy and saved the world.
That's wholesome as all hell.
Well he is a kid after all. Well, a 25 year old kid.
Wholesome yet also kinda dumb.
Like yes, I remember eating rice balls more then MEETING GOD
I think it also reflects how most people remember the series. Yeah it had its grand prophecies every now and then but it was the little moments and interactions that were always the center
I mean I had NO IDEA there was a wizard plot and a prophecy involving Ash until just now
nooo. nooooooo/nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The problem is that essentially all of Pokémon is treated as canon. So after 20-25 years of lore being written practically nonstop, what’s left is an ash Ketchum who may as well be the single most important human to have ever lived in his universe, yet only at the very end becomes a Pokémon master.

@@cousintedi dont think someone who reach the final phases of every pokemon league, and never doing worse than quarter finals can be called "mid"
They actually did bring up the events Pokémon the Movie 2000 in Pokémon the Joto Journeys. In that series they run into a Lugia mother and her child, and Misty just casually says "A Lugia. Yeah, we met one in the Orange Islands"
I remember that moment because of how odd it was, even as a little kid. Like the encounter in the movie was awe-inspiring. Misty literally said, "I can't believe it," when he first showed up. Everyone was stunned to see the Pokémon that was referred to as The Water's Great Guardian. Then in the series Lugia is barely anything more than a Pokémon of the week, whose appearance is treated with a shrug.
Well when you’ve whiteness gods fighting god and a god sends you back in time to save god from an imprisonment which results in god fighting the gods and a god brings you back and you earn the favor of god and the gods, running into a god of the sea with his god kid is kinda a average Tuesday

I feel like *ASH* was the one who made Brock disappear, rather than lack of canon. Brock literally mentioning how Ash is the chosen one and has wizard powers can easily imply Ash erasing him, if even temporarily, just so he doesn’t have to be reminded of all the hell he went through. Ash appreciates the little things, and won’t let anyone traumatize him by bringing up any insane events.
Traumatic repression
I still remember that moment even though it has been 23 years.
About 30+ kids run away from the auditorium, crying during the scene in which Ash "died" and they had to stop the viewing temporarily while parents reassured their kids.
It was some surreal shit.
So a generation after Prime died in the Transformers Movie, it happened again. Time flows like a river, and history repeats...
Dude holy shit that's insane, kinda glad I never went to see it in theaters because I wonder if I would've been one of those kids.

Unova lore is especially insane. No, I’m not talking about how every gym leader is part of the story, I’m talking about how Ash forgot even more than he forgets in a regular basis.
Remember how Johto made a big deal about how Ash was an experienced tournament worthy trainer to the point that when they came across that Electabuzz baseball team fan who was a total newbie and challenged Ash to a battle he actually refused at first because he didn't think it was a fair fight, then totally stomped her because she was a newbie and he was, well, a super experienced tournament worthy trainer?
Or how, while there was clearly a message about always having new things to learn and the like and Ash always being "him" for better or worse, we even see his experience in play a bit when trying to show May and Dawn the ropes. Brock was of course still needed for food, being the team mom/dad/big brother, reading maps, etc...Ash clearly knew what was what when it came to pokemon training.
Then fuckin B/W happened and did a near hard reset on him, when usually its just a soft reset (pikachu goes down to like level 5 but miraculously keeps his moves and prolly his EV's lol, and he leaves all non pikachu pokemon at oaks lab). @@MountainMemelord Had the final episode of the series itself shown the two re-uniting in a post-credits scene, I feel like the entire internet would've lit on fire lol.
They'll probably have him surface in Horizons at some point, as an evitable "guys look at the Ash cameo" though.
I read Latinas
@@RandoGrunt What about if they revealed that Serena was actually Latias the whole time? /s
@@codyopperman5930 "I just love Latinas, Sonic."
Well the entire mewtwo thing was wiped from their memories so I'm surprised that Brock remembered it.
I thought the same thing.
Though to be fair the second Mewtwo event that involves Giovanni they were allowed to keep their memories.
Came to the comments for the same reason. Real Pokémon lore keepers know!

He’s just like Skips from Regular Show… His mind is like a steel trap.
1:27 Misty’s “Brock-…” kills me everytime, she sounds so genuinely disappointed in his attitude
0:37 Bruh, Who doesn't remember? "CENTEPIED"
Ash remembers what's really important to him. The friends he made along the way, and the time he spent with them.
Boo!
Yeah what about meeting god and being a wizard
Wizard Lucario died for him and Ash forgot him.
Hey, remember that one time Misty turned into Vaporeon?
i really don't like where i KNOW this goes
yeah in the movie Pokemon and the mystery of deviantart

*Clears Throat*
Hey guys did you know that
*Ummm actually That was A Hoax* 🤓🤓🤓
Kinda. It reminds me of the time Serena turned in to a Braixen....
I love the one use of Destati from KH in the Wizard scene, thank you Solid JJ
The uncanny realization that you might not exist is the kind of dread that'll drive you insane 🤪
It’s not unlike the Twilight Zone. Ash is a monstrous creature, gifted with permanent youth and the ability to rewrite reality itself.
But can be defeated by mew and Mewtwo... Or a haunter of caught off guard.
Remember that Time when Ash bore witness to the great battle between the Gods of Time & Space and a 1,000 years of Darkness nearly enveloped all of creation, but he and his friends were able to avert their and the world's annihilation… yeah, me neither.
There would've been like a tiny island left of where they were fighting as time and space were unraveling if that were to be the case
Will never get tired of Brock achieving CHIM
Small error, Ash actually still had aura from the Lucario movie in journeys, so they acknoledged Ash having literal superpowers.
Oh, and the fifth movie was also confirmed canon
that little "hough" as brock faded into nothingness killed me
I mean to be fair, the boat incident was probably a pretty memorable and traumatizing experience.
Yep. Basically, Titanic, but pokemon.
And no romance.
Ash remembers the tragedy of the s.s anne
The S.S Anne episode, the subsequent episode about them escaping the sunken remains, and the sub-subsequent episode where they find land & meet giant pokemon robots on a monster island was the best arc in the history of the show, FUCKING FIGHT ME
Ash remembers the tragedy of the s.s anne
Having only watched some of the first few seasons and some of the movies- I clearly missed a few things. I'm tempted to watch it all, or at least when Ash becomes a wizard.
Basically, in the movie we find out that he has powerful aura.
If he actually trained, he should be able to use some aura abilities. But he doesn’t care about that.
This isn’t that ridiculous since other humans have powers too. Like Sabrina and her psychic powers.
I'm gonna go with the theory that his existential crisis was so intense he willed himself out of reality.
THIS GETS ME SO WELL, THE LORE IN THE MOVIES IS SO CRAZY AND YET THEY NEVER MENTION IT AGAIN!
Because it isn't canon
@@anonymouslucario285actually lumiose zac has a video and most of them are proveably cannon including ash meeting oak back in time
All movies are canon until after the XY movies
@@oracle222 The Reshiram and Zekrom movies quite literally cannot be canon together.
@@danieljennings9617 I’m of the belief that a version of that movie is canon, it’s up to you which one you want, that is a weird one tho
Actually fun fact about the Mewtwo one, at the end of that movie everyone's memories were erased, like canonically, they ended up right at the beginning before they even went to Mewtwo's island

Ash remembers the tragedy of the s.s anne
He didn't just meet god, he also met satan lol. Would be nice if someone made a list of all the crazy things Ash saw and did during his journey, I feel like it could easily be 100+ things.
In Pokemon Journey, Goh was always shocked whenever Ash mentions meeting these 5000 gods and Goh just never ponders any of it. Just WOW THAT HAPPENED
Feel like Pokemon Satan is simplifying it a bit considering how friendly and chill Giratina was with Ash afterwards.
Ash actually died more than once. Depending on your definition of death he even died during the first season of the show when he tried to capture a Haunter to fight Sabrina.
Looking back it’s kind of hilarious that the destined from birth guardian of all that is good that has met multiple gods had “win the Nationals” as his series goal.
It’s like a dog owner stumbling onto multiple
scientific revelations that would shatter and redefine Zoology as we know it while trying to train his pet for the local tricks tournament.
0:45 that's a bootstrap paradox.
Thank you for saving me from commenting that
The grandfather paradox is an alternate name for a bootstrap paradox
It's more like a reverse bootstrap paradox
1:16 How does Brock even know about that when he wasn't even traveling with Ash during that event?
Reruns.
Impressive how a single Pika-pi can say so much yet so little at the same time
Ah yes, what fond memories they had, my favorite one has to be where Ash, misty and beodo went to the pokemon technical institute was able to make Giselle realize that it takes time to teach her students! And when he found and saved Charmander that was adorable
Brock asked too many questions. He shouldn’t have asked too many questions.
1:58 me after all videos of solid jj
my favorite part of this is the sound he makes as he disappears. not a cry, not a scream, not a grunt, he just makes a noise akin to like almost losing your balance while youre walking
I saw it coming but "Am I canon?" still sent me for a loop.
Misty knows and she is afraid. Distract, deflect, distract, misdirect, hide in terror, distract.
0:10 wow. pikachu is a lot more articulated than i thought!
The funny thing is movies are considered canon because Ash and Goh fought Mewtwo in Journeys.
And Ash used his aura powers in Sinnoh.
Most of the movies are canon, but there are a few that are ambiguous and some that very much aren't canon.
The 5th movie's Latias also surfaces again in the second to last episode too, making the moment she kissed Ash in the film also canon, lol.
@@RandoGrunt We knew that movie was canon since the Sinnoh league, since Brock recognised Latios
You make the BEST videos on this platform I stg 💀🤣🤣 the wizard part HAHAHAHA
The first part gets even better when you remember that he met Mewtwo at least 2 more times.
To be fair, they get their memories wiped sometimes.
"Wow this is a totally crazy thing that happened and I learned a lot. You on the other hand won't remember anything. bye!"
Oh my god. Brock mentioning all those movie moments got me nostalgic for some reason. I gotta rewatch them sometime
The funny part, is this works that old accidental trope of "wild shit that happens cause we need a movie length plot" that p much hits every tv series.
Excellent work on this project! Truly inspiring and silly! You are so talented with all your videos. There really are some wild amazing plot holes in Pokémon but that’s also a huge part of why I enjoy it a lot because it makes it all the more of an intricate tapestry. However yes it is also fun to poke fun at it, as long as it’s done in good nature!
Mewtwo just straight up wiped everyones memories at the end of the first movie
Which was so dumb. Nobody learned anything because of that. Well, except Mewtwo.
Because Mewtwo was Kanto Region’s Special Legendary Pokémon.
I’m genuinely unsure why the writers had their memory get erased like barely anything in the story changes if they remember the events of that movie.
Didn't they get them back in his return episode?
@@ChigoIEbere no. mewtwo let them keep their memories of the 2nd movie, but never returned their memories of the first movie. only team rocket got mind wiped in the 2nd movie.

This is for real one of my Top 3 of jj. Oh doh, I giggled so hard. Thank you for that.
Also... BOAT.
It's an oddball conspiracy that Ash imagined his entire adventure because he never woke up that first day. He's been in a coma all that time, for over 20 years, until he finally woke up from it.
You can say that for any work of fiction...
