The United States is on the path to financial catastrophe.
Continuing to spend massively more than we take in each year-adding on to our public debt-cannot go on forever. The United States is on the path to financial catastrophe unless we put partisanship aside and produce constructive and honest solutions to stabilize our debt.

Utah's workforce model is lifting scores of people out of poverty.

Utah is a leader in lifting people out of poverty and into the workforce-in large part due to our model of consolidating workforce development and social safety net programs into a single state entity. During today's HELP Committee hearing, I highlighted my legislation that would allow other states to implement Utah's model to better help individuals build self-reliance and find meaningful work.

Not one word he said is true. The government does not find itself through taxes or borrowing, the government spends money into existence and the deficit can go on forever no issue. What we need to worry about is does the nation have the resources available for a strong and vibrant economy and keep inflation in check.

It’s very capable In Janet Yellin.. trump was the one that blew the deficit up with $7.6 trillion in debt, giving tax break to the rich that they didn’t need.. and now says he’s gonna do it again if he’s elected, the middle class and the poor will suffer.. and so will the country because that means billions of dollars being taken out of the system in tax breaks for people that don’t need them..

They are focused on this because the mega donors....the only people they really pay attention to, want to keep the populace poor, uneducated and hungry. The reason these mega donors want this is because they want to de-facto rule us like the lords did in medieval England. That way their wealth, status and power cannot be challenged. If anything, call them Deferred Earned Benefits. Please note during the Clinton administration the deficit was zero because the wealthy weren't given massive tax breaks and had to pay a fair share like the average guy. The giant deficit came on the GOP watch, which ushered in massive tax breaks again for the wealthy's benefit. Imagine the world financial power the U.S. could have if we get back to that balance. We would dominate ALL world economies. Time to learn a lesson here, tax cuts for the rich will eventually destroy us all.

The top 1% already pays 38% of the total income tax, and pay close to 40% of their income in taxes. That's 1.04, leaving them 1.56 trillion to actually take home.
